About Dan Duncan, property owner
Dan grew up 7 miles northwest of current home. He is a retired pilot, who flew so he could farm and ranch. Norma retired (5/2016) after 31 years of teaching and now I quilt and try to keep up. We have lived here 18 years, lived in Montana for 12 years and Las Vegas for 11 years.
Dan Duncan, property owner purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Dan Duncan, property owner chose Yellow Jacket
This home was originally built because our son was an officer in the Marine Corps and it was his home when he came home for extended times. He is now located in Cortez, CO. Also, our extended family and friends who come to stay, enjoy the privacy. We are centrally located to many of the main attractions in Southwest Colorado. The land we are located on have a view of the Sleeping Ute Mountain, the La Plata range, Blue Mountains and Lizzard Head.

Welcoming sunset and hosts.
We thoroughly enjoyed a unique experience staying in a well equipped, clean cabin. We were grateful to have the opportunity to talk with and learn a bit about a working ranch from the hosts' right-hand men. It would have been nice to stay longer and just soak up the beauty the ranch has to offer.
Idyllic Childhood memories
I grew up spending summers with my great aunt in the Georgia country. Memories of walking on country roads, watching beautiful sunsets and laughing on the patio with sweet tea all flooded back when we arrived at the Duncan's. Two nights was not enough for all of the beautiful places in the area and we will most definitely be back.
My husband was incredibly impressed with the water pressure and the kids all loved the welcome basket and cows. We took videos of our two year old insisting that they come join us for dinner! My favorite part was the beautiful sunsets. After a day of hiking and exploring, it was the perfect end. Don't hesitate to stay here!
The stay at the Duncan Ranch was more than we could have ever hoped for! Mesa Verde National Park and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument had been on our bucket list for awhile, and this property is perfectly situated between the two. Norma and Dan were the most welcoming of hosts, and provided an incredibly smooth process throughout. My 9-year old and my wife had so much fun watching the cows with all their new babies! The cabin was very clean, and more than enough space for us. The closest “big” city is Cortez, which is only 15-20 minutes from the cabin. Overall, this was one of the top 3 vacation rentals in which I've stayed, including dozens of properties over the years! Thank you so much for everything!

A taste of ranch life.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the D/N Ranch. The cabin was comfortable and well designed. I stayed there by myself but there was room for eight. The cabin is situated on a working ranch and would be a wonderful experience for anyone but I wish I had my grandson with me. The property is conveniently located about 30 minutes from Amazing Mesa Verde. There are historic sites virtually everywhere however.
Cabin on the ranch
This cabin was perfect for my husband and I! We had our 2 dogs with us! Perfect location to so many amazing things. Wishing we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more that this cabin had to offer! Thank you Dan and Norma! :)
Dear Kaitlyn and Dylan,

Great little cabin
The cabin was very clean and neat. Everything that we needed (or could have needed) was provided. The cabin was fully stocked for our entire stay. The host was informative and kind. It is a quiet and safe place to stay. Perfect location for day trips into the National Parks. We loved Mesa Verde!
Thank you for your review. Hope you had a good trip! Take care!
