The house is located in a quiet residential community of Englewood, Sarasota County, within the walking distance from the Royal Palm Marina and beautiful Lemon Bay. There are several seaside restaurants and bars, plenty of parking, pier fishing, parasailing, snorkeling, and diving. We are just 3 blocks away from the main avenue of Englewood, Dearborn, with it's antique shops, art galleries, and farmers market.
Englewood is perfect for family vacations.
The house is minutes away from the beautiful and quiet public beach on Manasota Key and Chadwick Park/Englewood Beach.
Our property is conveniently located near the famous “Warm Mineral Springs' -the Fountain of Youth in North Port. According to Health magazine, the Mineral Springs (also known as Warm Salt Springs) are “America’s best rejuvenating and healing springs.” 87F year round. It's are just 8 miles away.
There are five golf courses nearby: Rotunda GC, Myakka Pines GC, Lemon Bay GC, Oyster Creek GC, and Boca Royale.
The house was very large clean and in a convenient location that was close to Dearborn Street. You could walk to restaurants, supermarket and shopping. Ten minutes from the beach and very easy to get to Venice, Sarasota and Punta Gorda. There was a farm stand on the corner within walking distance with fresh fruit and vegetables. Anthony was very helpful when we had a problem with the TV. Would consider staying there again when we return to the area.
Sadly, I cannot recommend this property for a stay of any duration. It was so sparsely furnished as to be uncomfortable. The living area had one "firm" couch and one chair. No end tables or even a lamp to read by. It did have a TV/WiFi but with only the basic of channels. The kitchen was modestly appointed and the dishwasher came with the warning not to use the dry cycle. The breakfast bar only had one bar stool that reached counter height. There were three bedrooms, only two had very small, short chests for clothes, no mirrors at all, but there were ample linens. There was a garage, but the garage door was broken so you could not raise the door. The screened porch had furniture and the picture showed it looking over a woodsy area, but if you looked the other way, you saw low income apartments and trash. The neighborhood is on the low socio-economic level and not particularly good for walking.
This house made me feel like I was at home. The roomy but cozy atmosphere was so welcoming. We were also traveling with my son who is 15months and I didn't have to worry about where he was gonna sleep since the house was already equipped with a pack and play and a high hair for him to eat. We choose this house because we have family members that live close by in North Port which was a 15min drive. The house is in such a great location. You were a 5-10min drive to Englewood/Manasota Key Beach, a short distance away from Publix's and Walgreen's. We also discovered a fantastic little breakfast place that I would highly recommend. It's called Mango Bistro. All and all our stay was wonderful and working with Anthony was a pleasure. I would stay here again.
This place was incredible. It was clean and had more than enough space and we had bbq's and family come over and it was only 5 min from the driveway till my feet touched the sand. I could walk with the kids to the snow cone place and grocery store. I LOVED it!!!
I rented the left side of this house. This is a very nice house, has a large living room and a fully furnished kitchen. This house has one bedroom upstairs and two on the main floor. The Master bedroom is large and has a master bath. The upstairs bedroom & the second bedroom downstairs share the other bathroom. the house is easy to acess and is two blocks fromthe grocery store, and three blocksfrom the marina, which hasexcellent food and a place to dock your cruiser. This is a new house and is completely furnished has internet acess. I think you will enjoy your stay inthis house. If you have any problems they will be corrected very quickly, just an email away.
We absolutely loved Englewood. It’s a great small town with plenty of options for outdoor/nature enthusiasts. Our rental was ½ of a townhouse rental duplex. We rented the right-hand side, in January. The owner did not substantially misrepresent the property, but be aware that the pictures were from both rental units, so it was hard to tell what was in our unit. Our side of the duplex was adjacent to rental buildings with trash in the yards and bags of beer cans.
Aside from the large space and high ceilings, the rental offered little to make one feel at home. The house was reasonably clean, but the casino-style carpet was poorly installed, and the tile had defects. There were no occasional tables, no lamps, no décor of any kind save a thrift store quality picture high above the living room sofa.
The kitchen was modern, with granite counters, but lacked enough cookware to do any serious meal preparation. Furnishings were generally minimal and cheap – think budget motel. The living room had an uncomfortable couch, one chair, and one small chest holding the TV, DVD and cable equipment. The light over the stove was out (replaced at our expense) as well as several others.
The bedrooms were small, except for the master suite, which contained two child size beds (kids’ bedroom in pictures). The beds in the other bedrooms were low platform beds with uncomfortable poly sheets. There were only one or two nightstands or child-size chests in each room. We chose to use the downstairs bedroom because the upstairs room was located far from the bathroom, and the hallway carpet had bunched-up areas, creating a hazard in the night darkness.
Upon arrival, there was no hot water upstairs in the master bath, either in the shower or tub. My wife eventually determined the cause and corrected the problem. The heating system malfunctioned, causing the heat to run constantly (turning “off” did not work). We found a workaround but the problem was never corrected.
There were other issues with the rental experience, but space does not permit. All of the issues in this review and others were reported to the owner. The owner communicated well before our arrival, but we had no phone and had minimal email contact thereafter. The only issue resolved by the owner was replacing the missing vacuum cleaner. Apparently he relied on the maintenance staff to resolve problems, but they never responded to any calls after the second day we were there. We were very disappointed.
