Perched amidst the historical Great Kuakini Wall, this home offers you a connection to the past with the comforts of modern island living. There are two other bedrooms each with twin beds (that can be converted to king beds), and a second full bathroom. On warmer nights, ceiling fans throughout the home provide a cool environment as do the many windows that invite in the trade winds. The kitchen is superbly stocked with all your dining and cooking needs. Enjoy a spacious living room for entertainment or relaxing. The downstairs living area is perfect for your extended family. A lovely living room invites your eyes out to your garden retreat and patio and a full kitchen provides all you need to cook and dine in. Spend quiet evenings on your garden patio. All the comforts of home await you!
We have finally been able to keep 'one foot in the sand' after many years of living abroad and on the Mainland.
It is our hope that very soon we can get all feet back in the sand and retire here permanently. In the meantime, we invite you into our home. Find the true Hawaii here...in Laaloa Plantation Beach House... and the 'mana' that surrounds it.
Noelani Campbell purchased this house in 2013
We have been coming back to Kona for years to reconnect with family, our culture and cultural sites, and to enjoy the diverse landscape of the island. While we love the forests of Panaewa on the Hilo side, the picturesque waterfalls of the Hamakua Coast, sleepy Waimea Town, the cliffs of Waipio Valley, historical Hawi, restful and new Waikoloa, all roads have lead back to Kona. In many ways it has changed a lot...and then in other ways...not at all.
This home is great for family get togethers...because of the surroundings and proximity to so many attractions, there is a lot to do with many choices that will appease everyone.
What a wonderful time we had. And this home just accentuated the experience. Spacious, Clean, and Comfortable what more could you ask! If offers several social settings by providing both s huge lanai as well as s screened in gazebo. It's prociminith to the grocery stores makes it easy to dine in when you wish.
But the best part: you are just a two minute walk to the beach!
The house looked perfect for a group of six - three generations, with two adults in their 70s, two in their 50s, and two teens. We weren't disappointed - it was perfect! We rented just the upstairs, and it was plenty spacious for six. The home is on a quiet street, just a short walk from White Sands Beach, and a slightly longer walk to Kahalu'u Bay. The house had everything we had hoped to find; excellent kitchen, comfortable couches and beds, large lanai, freshly refurbished gazebo. We spent a lot of time on the lanai and in the gazebo, eating meals, relaxing with drinks, and even sleeping outside (wonderful, with the sounds of the local birds!). The Kona area was warmer than normal during our stay (days in the 90s), so everyone enjoyed the proximity to the water. We spent a lot of time cooling off at White Sands and snorkeling at Kahalu'u. It was a convenient distance to shopping at Keauhou and Kailua, and great snorkeling locations like Kealakekua Bay and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau. The home owners were very considerate and prompt, and all of their transactions were conducted with a warm, courteous, "Island-style" vibe. Our sole regret is that we didn't stay here twice as long... we'll fix that during our next visit!
We so enjoyed your beautiful home during our family vacation at Christmas time. It was perfect for all three generations and more than met all our needs in spending family time together in a spacious, comfortable setting (especially relaxing and enjoying evening meals on the lanai). The gorgeous Christmas tree you provided was especially welcoming. Thank you for your flexibility in accommodating our young ones. We loved the proximity to beaches and had fun on many day trips. We would definitely recommend your home to both family and friends in the future!
We had a ten people family reunion right after Christmas and found this home to be perfect for us. This home accommodated all of us very well: grandparents, children, and grandchildren. It was well stocked with everything we needed and the extras--BBQ and hot tub added to our stay there. Our evening ritual was watching the sunset over the ocean and then enjoying dinner on the spacious wrap-around deck!
My family of seven adults and three children (two under the age of two) stayed at this great home right after Christmas.
We found the home to be in immaculate condition, well decorated, and very comfortable. We found it to be very spacious and kid friendly. It's located in a nice neighborhood and just blocks away from the ocean. We enjoyed the outdoor grill and hot tub on many occasions. Great yard, too!
The owner was very approachable and available whenever we needed anything or had questions. I would definitely come back!
What a fantastic house! We stayed at this beautiful home over Thanksgiving 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were a group of ten, with six adults and four children (two multi-generational families). The house provided great spaces for everyone to enjoy time together, as well as ample room to have time apart from the group.
We enjoyed our coffee and breakfasts on the beautifully furnished lanai with a spectacular view of the ocean, and grilled fresh fish nearly every night on the lava barbecue. The house was well equipped with the tools and supplies needed to have most meals at home, cutting down on the cost of eating out on vacation. The view from the lanai was beautiful all day, but sunsets were especially nice. The hot tub provided a nice escape at the end of busy days to relax and unwind.
We loved that we could walk to the beach easily (even the youngest in our party had no problem with the walk). White Sands was a fun place to try out the boogie boards provided by the house and just soak up the beauty of Hawaii. Our kids were especially thrilled by the numerous sea turtles swimming in the cove! It was amazing how just being a short block from Alii Drive made you feel “off the beaten path” yet super convenient as a starting point for all of our day trips. Shopping and activities were close in both Kailua Kona and in Keauhou. Highlights for our trip were the Fairwind Snorkel and the Manta Ray snorkel, both about ten minutes from the house.
Although we did have an issue with major road construction occurring in front of the house, Noelani handled the situation extremely well for us. Although the issue was unforeseen and out of her control, she was helpful and apologetic about the inconvenience, and checked in on us to make sure that we were still able to enjoy our stay. She was prompt in communicating throughout the reservation process and resolved our issues well. She was quite helpful in recommendations for planning our stay and answering questions about activities and plans. She was truly a pleasure to work with. All of us agreed that we would certainly not hesitate to stay in this beautiful home again if we are able to make a return trip, and I would recommend the house to anyone traveling to the area.
Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful home!
