About Noelani Campbell

We have finally been able to keep 'one foot in the sand' after many years of living abroad and on the Mainland.

It is our hope that very soon we can get all feet back in the sand and retire here permanently. In the meantime, we invite you into our home. Find the true Hawaii Laaloa Plantation Beach House... and the 'mana' that surrounds it.

Why Noelani Campbell chose Kona Coast

We have been coming back to Kona for years to reconnect with family, our culture and cultural sites, and to enjoy the diverse landscape of the island. While we love the forests of Panaewa on the Hilo side, the picturesque waterfalls of the Hamakua Coast, sleepy Waimea Town, the cliffs of Waipio Valley, historical Hawi, restful and new Waikoloa, all roads have lead back to Kona. In many ways it has changed a lot...and then in other ways...not at all.

What makes this house unique

This home is great for family get togethers...because of the surroundings and proximity to so many attractions, there is a lot to do with many choices that will appease everyone.

Wonderful Island Experience

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had. And this home just accentuated the experience. Spacious, Clean, and Comfortable what more could you ask! If offers several social settings by providing both s huge lanai as well as s screened in gazebo. It's prociminith to the grocery stores makes it easy to dine in when you wish.

But the best part: you are just a two minute walk to the beach!

Wonderful vacation spot for family of six

  • 5 of 5

The house looked perfect for a group of six - three generations, with two adults in their 70s, two in their 50s, and two teens. We weren't disappointed - it was perfect! We rented just the upstairs, and it was plenty spacious for six. The home is on a quiet street, just a short walk from White Sands Beach, and a slightly longer walk to Kahalu'u Bay. The house had everything we had hoped to find; excellent kitchen, comfortable couches and beds, large lanai, freshly refurbished gazebo. We spent a lot of time on the lanai and in the gazebo, eating meals, relaxing with drinks, and even sleeping outside (wonderful, with the sounds of the local birds!). The Kona area was warmer than normal during our stay (days in the 90s), so everyone enjoyed the proximity to the water. We spent a lot of time cooling off at White Sands and snorkeling at Kahalu'u. It was a convenient distance to shopping at Keauhou and Kailua, and great snorkeling locations like Kealakekua Bay and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau. The home owners were very considerate and prompt, and all of their transactions were conducted with a warm, courteous, "Island-style" vibe. Our sole regret is that we didn't stay here twice as long... we'll fix that during our next visit!

Owner's Response: Much aloha to your ohana for making the most out of your stay at our home and on the Big Island. More impressive were your references (in impeccable Hawaiian) to all the wonderful places you visited. It does help future travelers to get a glimpse of your day to day experiences at the home, at the leisure, and traveling hither and yon. It was our pleasure to host such a gracious family. We await your return...and yes, stay longer next time. A hui hou, Noelani Campbell

Beautiful and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed your beautiful home during our family vacation at Christmas time. It was perfect for all three generations and more than met all our needs in spending family time together in a spacious, comfortable setting (especially relaxing and enjoying evening meals on the lanai). The gorgeous Christmas tree you provided was especially welcoming. Thank you for your flexibility in accommodating our young ones. We loved the proximity to beaches and had fun on many day trips. We would definitely recommend your home to both family and friends in the future!

Owner's Response: So very happy to hear that your stay was enjoyable and relaxing. Christmas in Hawaii is unique especially for children! Santa arrives on a surf board! We do hope you come and visit again. Next time we'll leave the ornaments so the kids can decorate the tree! A hui hou, Noelani

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a ten people family reunion right after Christmas and found this home to be perfect for us. This home accommodated all of us very well: grandparents, children, and grandchildren. It was well stocked with everything we needed and the extras--BBQ and hot tub added to our stay there. Our evening ritual was watching the sunset over the ocean and then enjoying dinner on the spacious wrap-around deck!

Owner's Response: Your family was a pleasure to have. I am particularly glad that you made use of the home as a gathering place for sunsets, meals, and private respite. Often, visitors fill their days up with so many things to do that staying near to home is often the most unhurried, tranquil, and cheapest! Thank you for taking the time to tell other visitors about your stay and wish you and your family a speedy return. Noelani Campbell

Great home!

  • 5 of 5

My family of seven adults and three children (two under the age of two) stayed at this great home right after Christmas.

We found the home to be in immaculate condition, well decorated, and very comfortable. We found it to be very spacious and kid friendly. It's located in a nice neighborhood and just blocks away from the ocean. We enjoyed the outdoor grill and hot tub on many occasions. Great yard, too!

The owner was very approachable and available whenever we needed anything or had questions. I would definitely come back!

Owner's Response: Your family was truly a joy to have in the home and at such a splendid time of year for all of you. To enjoy the season as only Kona and good company can provide is what memories are made of! I'm glad the house provided everything that everyone needed including space and the comforts that you can call "home." The one thing all past guests agree on; that the meals taken at home, prepared on the grill, to close the day watching the sunset with children running around in the yard...are the best times spent. I will only be too happy to welcome you and your family back on your next return. Happy New Year!

Fantastic Family Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house! We stayed at this beautiful home over Thanksgiving 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were a group of ten, with six adults and four children (two multi-generational families). The house provided great spaces for everyone to enjoy time together, as well as ample room to have time apart from the group.

We enjoyed our coffee and breakfasts on the beautifully furnished lanai with a spectacular view of the ocean, and grilled fresh fish nearly every night on the lava barbecue. The house was well equipped with the tools and supplies needed to have most meals at home, cutting down on the cost of eating out on vacation. The view from the lanai was beautiful all day, but sunsets were especially nice. The hot tub provided a nice escape at the end of busy days to relax and unwind.

We loved that we could walk to the beach easily (even the youngest in our party had no problem with the walk). White Sands was a fun place to try out the boogie boards provided by the house and just soak up the beauty of Hawaii. Our kids were especially thrilled by the numerous sea turtles swimming in the cove! It was amazing how just being a short block from Alii Drive made you feel “off the beaten path” yet super convenient as a starting point for all of our day trips. Shopping and activities were close in both Kailua Kona and in Keauhou. Highlights for our trip were the Fairwind Snorkel and the Manta Ray snorkel, both about ten minutes from the house.

Although we did have an issue with major road construction occurring in front of the house, Noelani handled the situation extremely well for us. Although the issue was unforeseen and out of her control, she was helpful and apologetic about the inconvenience, and checked in on us to make sure that we were still able to enjoy our stay. She was prompt in communicating throughout the reservation process and resolved our issues well. She was quite helpful in recommendations for planning our stay and answering questions about activities and plans. She was truly a pleasure to work with. All of us agreed that we would certainly not hesitate to stay in this beautiful home again if we are able to make a return trip, and I would recommend the house to anyone traveling to the area.

Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful home!

Owner's Response: Oh what a lovely review! Thank you for taking the time to be so thorough as prospective renters really want to know what daily life will be like at the home and surrounding areas. It is a special place indeed and aside from the roadworks, I am so relieved that you were all able to find the respite that was promised. Kindest regards for the New Year and look forward to having you stay again soon. Hauoli Makahiki Hou and Mahalo, Noelani Campbell
