A scholar and director of an arts and humanities center, I reside in Connecticut with my family and my dog. The Berkshires are my sanctuary from the bustle of twenty-first century quotidian life.
Michelle S. purchased this house in 2011
The Berkshires have always been sacred to me and my family, and we are grateful not only to enjoy this unique site, but also to share its natural beauty and cultural merits with visitors.
From the moment that I see the sign Brady's retreat and turn into the drive, my quotidian concerns dissipate and I smile at the thought of evenings by the fire pit or afternoons curled up on the sun porch with an Edith Wharton novel.
We stayed for five nights at Brady's Retreat with our closest friends and our two toddlers. The home was as beautiful as advertised: absolutely perfect, with ample open space for the kids to move around and private sleeping/bathroom areas for naps. There's even a play room in the basement, though our kids were too excited to run around on the beautiful grounds outside to use it. The kitchen is well-equipped, spacious, convenient, and open to the main living area. The home is located close the Mass Pike and the town of Lee, but it's only a 15-minute drive to Great Barrington and even quicker to Lenox/Stockbridge. Michelle was a wonderful host and made herself available for questions/advice in advance of our trip. We hope to return!
Three adult couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, well-located house. We cooked extensively and had a good game night with the pool table and ping pong table.
The meadow setting was peaceful and serene. The house was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. It worked very well for couples to find their own space for quiet as well as engaging conversations. The screened porch looking out on a meadow of chirping birds proved to be a favorite gathering spot. With all the tension and expectations of parents-of-the-groom and the weekend of wedding activities, this was a perfect property and choice.
This is our third year renting this beautiful home. Our vacation is centered around a family reunion and this home is perfect for unwinding after days of fun events. It is also conveniently located near fantastic hiking trails as well as multiple museums and restaurants. Our favorite thing to do at the end of the day is gather in the screen porch to watch the fireflies in the meadow. Spectacular light show!
This house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The surrounding property is picturesque and inspiring.I highly recommended this house. Lee is also quite well located to all major events . Luis the caretaker was attentive and extremely helpful.
We had a fantastic vacation here. It was actually part of a family reunion.
You would never have to leave this spot, The views are amazing. It is the perfect
home for several couples. Our two grand children had fun running around watching
little bunny rabbits outside. There were many games to play. There are many
things to see and do in the area. The Rockwell Museum is a great place to
go if you love art. Great Barrington and Lenox are a must for walking around
town and eating at good restaurants.. The owner is very cooperative if you
need anything. I would recommend this rental to anyone that wants a peaceful
and fantastic setting.
