We have lived in Michigan for many years and have enjoyed all the activities it has to offer.
owner purchased this cottage in 2011
We first discovered this popular area of Michigan many years ago. We enjoy this part of Michigan and use our main cottage frequently. It is our escape from the work and we love this lake! We bought this rental cottage close by and bought it several years ago. We renovated it and it is now ready to be rented.
Fishing, boating, swimming are some of the activities available. This cottage is close to Pelleston, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City and all that this area has to offer.
"The cottage was great! Clean and comfortable and had all the needed accommodations. The weather was not as cooperative - rain and cooler than expected. Overall we had a great time, boating/tubing and lazing around. thanks so much for your hospitality."
"I had a great time here! I love my bedroom with twin bunk beds. the cottage is a pretty place to be for the week.. I hope every family thinks so!"
The cottage was clean and updated , but still had the charm of a classic lake cottage. We had plenty of room, all the appliances, cooking utensils, linens and everything we needed. We spent our mornings sitting on the deck watching the sunrise having coffee. Our evenings were spent roasting marshmallows over the fire. The kids swam, did cannonballs off the dock and just had fun! We took the advice from prior renters and had a blast exploring and searching for Petoskey stones (we found many). Mackinac Island was close enough, we went twice. I absolutely loved it! I'm hoping to plan another trip up there in 2018. Thank you so much Moira!
First off the owners Moira and Dick were absolutely great to work with and very friendly. The cottage was immaculate and everything you would need is provided, pots and pans to paper towels. The view from the deck was beautiful and the lake is fantastic! We would and want to go back already.
We were in love with this location! It is right on Burt Lake with a gorgeous view! All of the amenities were perfect, it's like they thought of everything! The cabin was quaint but updated. The owners were very easy to communicate with if needed (we didn't need to other then checking if there was wifi- there isn't but it was nice to be disconnected for a weekend) We stopped by a local bar/restaurant twice called Hoppy's on the East side of the lake- excellent food! Petoskey and Harbor springs are only a half hour drive. We would definitely stay here in the future and would recommend this place to anyone!!
Cottage was very nice and open, very comfortable. We thought it would be a small cabin, with tight quarters, but it's open layout made it very comfortable. Several windows facing the lake offered awesome views! Would have given 5 stars, but the grass in the lawn was very tall, which probably couldn't be helped because of all the rain before we arrived. Look forward to staying there again!
The only thing that would prevent me from giving this cabin a good rating and five stars would be to prevent others from staying here so it was always available when I wanted to go :)
This cabin made me feel at home away from home. Not only did it have all the comforts of home which included a gas grill, washer, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, books, games but also included the most beautiful view of Burt Lake. The sunsets were incredible. I can't wait to book another vacation here. The location was perfect and allowed quick access to I-75. Traveling to Mackinaw Island and to Indian River was very convenient. We even spent a day on the Sturgeon River. The owner is a "gem" to work with, especially in answering any questions you may have.
Some of the local attractions to be enjoyed while visiting this part of northern Michigan are:
Inland Waterway from Lake Huron through rivers and lakes into Burt Lake,
Ferries from Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island where you can go biking and visit historic Fort Mackinac,
Several golf courses close by,
Water parks at Boyne Highlands and Mackinaw City,
Car shows at Bay Harbor, and St. Ignace, Upper Peninsula,
Antique wooden boat show in Hessel, Upper Peninsula
Historic Fort Michelmackinac in Mackinaw City,
Access to the Upper Peninsula via the Mackinac Bridge,
Art fairs in Cheboygan, Petoskey and Harbor Springs,
Fall color tours,
Casinos in Petoskey and Mackinaw City
Or you may prefer to just stay by the lake and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the waterfront, looking out across the lake, or fishing in front of the cottage. It is truly a place to enjoy and relax!
