perfect accomodation , ideally positioned for visiting Roma.

  • 5 of 5

The accomodation was spotlessly clean. Lots of thoughtful touches. Very good aircon. Everything we needed. Ideally positioned for visiting Rome and in the heart of trastevere. Very close to tram 8 for central Rome, also very pleasant walk to vatican over the janiculum hill. I would recommend this apartment and if i get to Roma again i would stay here again. Giovanni and April are lovely and very helpful, Giovanni welcomed us and showed us how everything in the apartment works, he also emailed me infornation on how to get to Tivoli for a day trip. We had a lovely time in Roma which wax even better for having a great apartment to return to at the end of the day.. Thank you Giovanni.

Staying at Giovanni's apartment was a wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

My husband, adult son and I stayed at Giovanni's apartment in Trastevere, Rome. It was the first time we rented an apartment for a vacation and it was a wonderful experience. Giovanni met us at the apartment and took time to show us around the apartment and go over a map of Rome to help us find our way around there. The apartment is furnished very well and very clean, and the beds were very comfortable! The kitchen was well equipped for those who want to cook there, but we didn't do that because we were on vacation! The Trastevere neighborhood is quiet at night where the apartment is yet lively with stores and restaurants a few minutes away. It was easy to walk or use public transportation from there to anywhere you want to go to see the sites. We recommend Giovanni's apartment to those who want a comfortable and pleasant experience staying in Rome.

Perfect Rome Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Great location in the Trastevere neighborhood. Quiet and safe upscale apartment building with very few steps to the unit. Large rooms are well appointed; great mattress in the master bedroom. Excellent w-fi. And Giovanni was a wonderful host! We would definitely stay here again.

Believe the Reviews!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a 10 day stay at La Scalea di Trastevere and I wanted to add my voice to those that previously reviewed and convinced me to book this wonderful apartment. My wife, son and myself traveled to Rome to visit our daughter who is spending this semester there.

1. Giovanni - From booking to checkout he could not have been more responsive or accommodating. The apartment is immaculate and as advertised. Giovanni met us at the apartment and ran us through the procedures. Halfway through our stay he came by to change the linens and towels, which was a nice touch. Also, the building itself is very secure and the first morning when I left to get an espresso the building manager stopped me (nicely) and asked who I was and where I was staying, and how many were in my party.

2. Trastevere - Our daughter's apartment happens to be in Trastevere, so that is how we decided on this neighborhood. Now, I can't imagine returning to Rome and not making this home base. Just a great neighborhood and the apartment is in easy walking distance to the San Cosimato market and lots of great shopping for breakfast and lunch.. Special shout out to Sr. Roberto at Antica Caciara, who takes good care of my girl and has the best salumi and cheese from small producers....but I don't think he needs my help as when we were walking out a food tour was walking in. Also, Marco at Bar Glorioso pulls a mean espresso and makes a great cappuccino to get you fired up for your day of walking.

3. Rome - What can I say, we fell in love. I understand why my daughter is lobbying to stay through the summer now. My wife and my family emigrated to the States in the early part of the last century. Our Italy trip was always going to be to the more southern part from where our people came. We will get there, but I can't imagine making the trip now without a stop in Rome and staying at La Scalea di Trastevere.

I hope I did Giovanni justice with this review. In this business I have to believe the reviews have a lot to do with the bookings and he deserves someone better than me doing the writing!

I just returned from Rome and my stay at Giovanni's wonderful apartment in Trastevre. I stayed at for a period of 1 month. Giovanni was the perfect host. When I first inquired about the property, I was immediately responded to ,asking all kinds of questions back and forth. This was my first visit to Rome and Europe for that matter,so I was quite apprehensive. Having used VRBO many times with great success, and doing a lot of research, I felt I couldn't go wrong with all of the good reviews for Giovanni. I traveled alone and this apartment was of course more than I needed, but would be perfect for a small family. Everything in the apartment is as seen in the pictures if not better in person. All the equipment seemed brand new, washing machine, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The place is absolutely as clean and well kept as anyone would want, certainly more so than a hotel room. The location is perfect, quiet side street, but right in Trastevre. A very short 2 block walk to the #8 tram that goes to piazza Venecia in center of Rome. It stops 4 times between, so just get on and off wherever you want. I purchased a Roma pass for 30 days, which is good on any public transportation. I only ever used the 8 tram my entire stay. I walked everywhere. I was quite amazed at how close everything really is,all the major sites etc. Of course there were major sites every 100 yards for me. I kept snacks and of course wine at the apartment and only cooked there 3 or 4 times on days that it was raining and I was hungry. Of course 2or3 hrs later the rain would stop. I went there to try restaurants and food everywhere I could. But for a budget traveller, you could do very well at the apartment, with a fresh food market open every day till 2 only a few blocks away. In closing I would recommend Giovanni and his great apartment to anyone. Thanks again Giovanni!!
