We would love to stay at Oak Hill again. The house had so much space for everyone, it was perfect!
We loved Oak Hill! It was a wonderful place for our three families to spend a week. We had plenty of room... much better than staying in a hotel. And the location was great, allowing us to easily drive in for softball games but also to escape for some downtime. We loved exploring the house and its history. Our stay allowed us an opportunity to experience Texas in a wonderful way-- the house, the awesome pool area, the wildlife, and the stars in the Texas sky.
I can't say enough about the hospitality shown to us by the owners. They truly outdid themselves when it came to answering our questions and being responsive. From making sure we had access to a washer and dryer to arranging extra trash pick ups... they did a great job in making us feel at home.
We had a wonderful time and will always remember this trip and our stay at the Plantation. If we come back to College Station, you will definitely find us at Oak Hill.
This is our 6th year renting this house for our biannual leadership retreat, and it never disappoints. The house itself is so spacious which is awesome for groups of 14 like we have. The best part though is how serene and historic the property as a whole is. It is always such a relaxing weekend and just a 15 minute drive from Texas A&M!
Really great house for a big group. Very unique location to stay for a gameday. We have stayed here twice when coming in for Aggie games and loved it both times. It's a little far from campus (20-30 minutes), but the house makes up for it. Fits lots of people and has a great backyard or pool area for cooking out/hanging out.
Wow! What a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the simple beauty of the past in this Oak Hill Plantation. We celebrated my nephews graduation from ATM College Station, Whoop!. The home lend itself to everything we needed from space to furniture that could be staged for the event.
We had a great time in this plantation styled home that immersed us in Texas History. The rain didn't stop us from having a great time.
Also, the pool, dance deck area, and train caboose are outside extras that make the outside more interesting.
All in all a great place to rest, relax, enjoy, and celebrate.....Oak Hill plantation!
We loved this older spacious home and property and it was a perfect fit for our son's graduation party (35 in attendance) and our family reunion. We enjoyed the 1940s charm and quaintness throughout, even the lack of some of the modern amenities. We were 13 in total among 4 different families and had all the space we needed to unwind, relax, and enjoy each others company, both inside the home and outdoors. The fire pit at night with the fire going was a popular place to hang out both for the party and the other nights. We really liked being out in the country and enjoyed the absence of the noise of traffic. The wildlife was abundant everywhere from migrating robins and all kinds of birds, rabbits, bobcat, deer, etc. We did have an electrical problem with the range and oven but the property manager responded quickly and got it fixed in time for our events...great job !! The breakfast provided was delicious. The kitchen was stocked well with the things you need but don't think to bring including plastic 1 qt storage bags, aluminum foil, solo cups, napkins, etc.etc. I thought the property manager was genuinely interested that we have a great weekend and made every effort to make us feel at home. We will always remember our special time at the Plantation Home and we would come back in a heartbeat.
