Welcome to Basle, city of culture and commerce. Whether you come on holiday or on business, this lovingly furnished flat will afford you all that you need for a relaxing stay. Centrally located, you can easily take advantage of Basle’s complete palette of activities, as well as sightseeing in neighbouring Germany and Alsace. The apartment offers a great deal of comfort in a small space and its residential character will afford you a good night’s sleep.
Two weeks again my wife and I stayed in this flat for a week. The flat is small and tidy. The shower is in the kitchen, but I like that. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The kitchen is very small but was very well stocked. Our host stocked the kitchen so well that it saved me hours of shopping. The location near Voltaplatz was very convenient to two tram lines. Downstairs was a great bakery. Everything was great. The owner was super. I would gladly stay here again.
J'y retournerais volontiers.
Janice was so helpful. The apartment had everything we needed. A very real experience on life in Basel.
My husband and I were very pleased with our stay in this flat. The owner was more than kind to us, and as mentioned in the prior review, stocked the refrigerator with delicious local food and drinks. She also gave us a map orientation and suggestions for eating out. The bed was nice and everything was kept super clean. In addition to the comfort inside, this flat is located right near Tram line 11 which served almost all our needs for getting around the city. The grocery stores (Micros and Coop) are within walking distance. Overall our stay in Basel exceeded our expectations. Thanks!
We stayed 5 nights in the apartment and were more than happy with the experience. The instructions on how to get there from the airport were easy to follow and the owner met us on arrival. La Garconniere is very comfortable and clean with with a queen size bed, well equipped kitchenette and bathroom with shower. You are able to control the heat within the apartment. Cozy.
Janice the very accommodating and informative owner stocks the fridge with everything you would need for your breakfast meal. Preparing it yourself was ideal as there was no schedule and you could eat when you wanted. The tram system is excellent and the stop only a couple of minutes away provided easy access to down town, the train station or France for lunch if you like. The free public transit card which Janice provided was well used.It is also a great walk on either side of the Rhine to the city center. Overall a great stay and we have and will continue to recommend it highly.
We stayed 9 nights in Basel to attend "Basel World" the famous Watch and Jewellery Fair and used this little apartment as our base. It was very centrally located being very close to two major tram routes. The inclusion of the transport pass meant we could hop on and off trams and buses at will.
The apartment was tiny but provided all our needs. The fridge was very well stocked for self prepared breakfasts and a supermarket one tram stop away meant we could shop and have a home cooked meal occasionally.
The patisserie next door was stocked with the most delicious cakes and chocolates!!
It was great having an internet connection.
Janice went out of her way to ensure our stay was a happy and memorable one.
My partner and I spent a few days in Basel and the flat was perfect. It is small, but has everything you need, is clean and centrally located. The transit pass is also a wonderful perk. We walked a block to the tram which took us right to my aunts flat who we were in town to visit.
Janice is very nice. We would definitely return and stay in the flat again.
Basle is located in northwest Switzerland, directly bordering on France and Germany and one hour from Zurich, Bern and Luzern; a great base camp for exploration. The train stations and airport, as well as the trade fair, are easily reached with public transportation and there are two tram lines within a few seconds walk of the door. In the immediate neighbourhood, you’ll find everything you need- a bank, post office, grocery stores and restaurants, as well as a wonderful bakery next door to the house. The city of Basle, renowned for its museums and zoological garden, awaits you!
