New Mexico House Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 3

With a style that will make any cowboy feel right at home and room to sleep 2, Cowboy Song is a fabulous casita rental in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This one bedroom guest house has a queen bed, linens, cable TV, wi-fi. A lovely, private patio awaits your enjoyment. The casita is well decorated and appointed with a kiva fireplace in the living area and kitchen.

Behind its security gate, you'll find this charming casita featuring a one-bedroom, one-bath, located in the heart of Santa Fe's Historic district. The location is picture-perfect: a block from the famous artist community, Canyon Road, and short stroll to the Santa Fe Plaza. Along the way, enjoy the Santa Fe River Park and greenbelt and many historic sites and buildings in the downtown area.

While the casita adjoines the main house, it offers its own private entry and patio. Radiant heat is provided, for those chilly nights; with an evaporative cooling system for our sunny New Mexico summer.

The casita is charming with its well-appointed western-themed presentation, with a kiva fireplace in the living area and kitchen. Comfortable leather sofa/recliners awaits you, after a day of Santa Fe sites and discoveries. Outside the living area is a private, coyote-fenced and landscaped yard, complete with a brick and flagstone deck, bistro table and chairs. You'll find the casita has a compound-feel to it, yet is intimate and quiet to its surroundings.

A queen-sized Master bedroom, fresh linens, cable TV, and wi-fi access awaits you in this hidden gem. It's full bath entices via a jacuzzi tub and cozy atmosphere.

At the request of the owner, there are no pets allowed during a rental term, and the residence has a No Smoking policy. The parking area on the corner of Acequia Madre and Camino del Poniente is shared with another casita and the main house. When at the home, kindly park allowing for two additional cars to share the parking area.

Reviewer Comments:

Santa Fe and Cowboy Song were the perfect home base to explore northern New Mexico. We enjoyed many of the fine museums and galleries in Santa Fe and ate in several excellent restaurants. Outside Santa Fe we visited Bandolier, Albiquiu, Chama (rode the Cumbres & Toltec) Pagosa springs, Taos (Taos Pueblo is fantastic) Las Vegas (huge 4th of July fiesta) Fort Union (no Buffalo but saw deer and antelope playing) Cowboy Song is a great place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood. This was our second stay at Cowboy Song we stayed last winter when it was a snowy landscape and we wanted to come back for a different season. We would not hesitate to recommend Cowboy Song and will visit again soon.

Reviewer Comments:

Perfect for two people, but feels spacious enough to entertain friends. Wonderful NM decor, luxurious bed, clean and quiet. Radiant heat kept the place cozy warm during the frosty spring weather.. Great location for walking Canyon Road, but we enjoyed trekking into town to eat and explore the Plaza. Looking forward to a future return!

Reviewer Comments:

The location was fantastic-- just a block off Canyon Road about 2/3 of the way down. The place itself was a bit run down-- the doors were warped and hard to lock/unlock, the appliances had seen their better days and were cheap to start with-- we had to smack the ice maker to get it to turn off, the kitchen table badly needed shimming, and the bed was not exactly comfortable. We did reserve this with only two days notice, but it would have been nice had it been prepped for our arrival-- there was no shampoo, no bar soap, and about 6 paper towels on the roll, and only 2 spare garbage bags. I hadn't planned on a run to the store for the basics, but we had to do that the next morning too. However it was relatively clean, and serviceable. The real problem was the heat-- when we got there late at night the place was 6o degrees and no matter how high we turned up the thermostat it didn't get any warmer. We huddled under as many blankets as we could find (and there were a few extras hidden around), and snuggled through the night. The next day was a warm one for February, so the place got up to 64-- we lit a fire that night which warmed up the room. Once we got it warm, the heating system seemed able to keep the temperature-- just not capable of getting there itself. So, if all you really care about is location, and you go when you don't need heat, then this place may be just fine for you. The location really couldn't have been better.

Reviewer Comments:

The unit itself was just fine, clean, fully-equipped and comfortable. But the external environment left a LOT to be desired. Firstly, the owner decided to renovate the unit next door, which caused a lot of noise and workers continually moving about. Second, the way the unit is situated means that you hear speaking and moving about from anyone staying in the main unit in this compound. This was another huge negative. The first problem was avoidable, if the stupid owner had planned ahead; the second problem is systemic, and would arise for anyone staying at a time of the year when people want to be outside having a drink and chatting with their friends. All in all, I would not stay in this unit again. Summary: On balance, I did not enjoy my stay as much as I could have without these continual intrusions from the outside environment. The simple solution is to avoid staying in any compounds in the future. Rather, just rent a single-family house. Summary

Good casita; location convenient to Canyon Road, but not really walking distance to downtown and the plaza. Unit was clean and amenable to two people. Off-street parking was a plus.
