North Georgia Mountains Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 2 Lofts, 2 Bathrooms With Large Deck And Fire Pit (Sleeps 7)

Appalachian Lady Bug is a 15-year-old home built by local craftsmen. The cabin is adorned with reclaimed barn wood, handcrafted metal work, masonry and woodwork. The result is a true taste of Appalachia, yet it hosts all the conveniences of a modern home. The amount of artistic detail and variety of wood and stone used in the construction of the cabin give it a purely “one of a kind” feel. The cabin is newly renovated and decorated in folk art from the area. This property is uniquely nestled in the National Forest which can be observed from the covered porch and an outdoor kitchen area which opens into a large patio and fire pit.

About Sarah Reynolds

Hi folks! Thank you for your interest in my cabin. A bit about me... I am a native Georgia girl, a mom, a wife and a librarian (no bun and glasses for me, though!) My husband and I live 30 minutes from the cabin with our 2 children and our crazy dog Mangus.

Sarah Reynolds purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Sarah Reynolds chose North Georgia Mountains

This house is near and dear to me, and I lived here for 12 years. After re-marrying, my husband and I wanted to keep the place and thought it would be great to fix it up and share it with others. It is one of those places that just makes you feel good. While the inside is lovely, I have probably spent more hours on the porch just 'being' than anywhere else. It is cool in the summer, lush in the spring, glorious in fall, and as cozy as can be in the winter.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The seclusion and coziness of the Ladybug was perfect for our weekend getaway and mini-moon. The rainy Fall weekend was peaceful and relaxing after our wedding weekend.

Charming and cozy cabin nestled in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

What a charming cabin nestled in the peace and quiet of the woods! My family of 5 stayed here for a week and everyone was comfy and cozy. All the comforts of home were at our fingertips, but we truly felt we were getting the outdoor, mountain experience. The kids kept saying they felt like they were in a fairytale!

There are so many fun things to do in the area, including waterfalls, tubing, panning for gold, and the NC mountains and their majesty are just a short drive away.

We did have a few issues with the AC and some unwelcome scorpions, but they were addressed and fixed immediately. And the owners even gave us some local tips on what to see and do that made our vacation even more memorable.

Whether you are looking for a quiet or romantic getaway or a fun filled family adventure, I definitely recommend using this wonderful cabin as your home away from home.

Fairy Tale Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time @ Sarah's cottage. It is so enchanting at first sight. There are so many artistic pieces in the most unlikely places if you look closely! We spent every evening on the large deck relaxing from our day's outing building a fire, making dinner and having a glass(bottle) of wine with our two dogs(Agnes and Olive). The cottage has everything you will need and is tastefully furnished. The town of Dahlonega is a short drive away and we enjoyed several restaurants and shopping. We met a great couple who moved there several years ago and helped us in our search for property for sale. Our son and grandchildren live in Alpharetta so we are looking to relocate to be closer. Would definitely recommend staying here!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ladybug! The location is wonderful for getting to Dahlonega or Dawsonville, or perfect for just relaxing in place.

Lovely and comfortable respite in the house in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I spent four nights in this home just for a hiking getaway. The home has been re-done in mountain rustic with just the right amount of appropriate decor but without country clutter. The home is very clean, roomy, and well equipped. We enjoyed the big walk in showers and having two large private bedrooms. The setting was lovely ,woodsy but close to cute town of Dahlonega. The Wifi worked beautifully and was very strong. We also discovered good hiking nearby in Amicola State Park and Dockery Lake Park. I highly recommend this property.

Very impressed

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of this beautiful and quaint cabin on line does not do it justice! I had been excited by all it had to offer with the design of the interior and exterior amenities but I truly fell in love with everything about it! It is not only comfortable with all the creature comforts of home but the owners have added beautiful touches throughout the whole design in and outside. I can not wait for an opportunity invite family to come join me to go back!

The location of the cabin offers seclusion, yet is easily accessible to active vacationers. It is located only 4 miles from Amicolola State Park, 12 miles from Dahlonega, and 15 miles from Dawsonville. The immediate area offers a myriad of outdoor activities including hiking, hunting, horseback riding, and fishing, but is also a great place to just sit and read a book.

Notes:
Need a weekend away from the hustle and bustle? Come watch the sunset over the ridge and sit on the porch listening to the creek. Come see how the stars look and how the mountain air smells when you get away from suburbia. I welcome you to an unforgettable stay in one of the most serene places on earth, a place we have come to call the Appalachian Lady Bug. The cabin is ideally suited for two couples with kids or a small group. Hunters, anglers, bikers, hikers and horse riders will find this an ideal base camp for sporting activities. It has two bedrooms, each with a sleeper loft and independent full bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living area is appealing and cozy. Most of your time, however, will probably be spent outside on the spacious deck or patio.
