Santa Cruz County House Rental Photos and Description

Just 1 block from Twin Lakes Beach (voted Best beach in Santa Cruz)

Santa Cruz Ocean View Home: Located only one block from the beach, this is a two-story, designer home with an open-architecture style and cathedral type ceilings. Big windows and a gridwork of glass allows in plenty of light. The upstairs bedroom opens to a private deck from where you can view the ocean. Downstairs, a large wraparound deck, bathed in sunshine overlooks a stunning garden filled with beautiful plants and rocks and a bevy of doves, finches, blue-jays and red-winged blackbirds. Garden lights beam up the trees at night and summer nights provide an occasion to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the clear starry nights in complete privacy.

This home sleeps 6 with two bedrooms, a large open living space (living room & kitchen), one large bathroom and plenty of patios. The living room has a pull-out sofabed and a comfortable chaise that can double as sleepers. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a day-bed, comfortably sleeping three. The tropical secluded backyard has a large wraparound deck, a hot-tub with two chaise lounge-chairs, an outdoor hot & cold shower, a BBQ and a marble-top dining table & chairs. Why Shyamal chose Santa Cruz County

One of the very rare, spacious lots on the street, it has two magnificent trees, a large wraparound deck, spacious backyard with tropical plants and a uniquely-styled house with cathedral ceilings. It was originally built in the 70's with recycled wood from a barn in Iowa, giving the house beautiful definition and an impressive beam structure. Finally, it is located in the most desireable parts of Santa Cruz, just steps from Twin Lakes beach and a short walk to the Harbor.

Unlike many beach dwellings (that feel cramped), this large lot offers plenty of room for a spacious home (1400sqft), a large wraparound deck (600sqft) and a sizeable garden providing one of the best indoor-outdoor living in Santa Cruz.

In addition, the unique cathedral celings and large windows fill the house with light, providing a warm welcoming feeling. It is so close to the ocean that you can see it from the doorstep.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have stayed at Seaside Haven in 2008 and 2011.

The garden at Seaside Haven is magical. A spacious deck wraps around

the back of the house. A few steps down the garden wraps around the

deck, replete with huge jade plants and wildflowers. Ensconced in the

deck is an ample hot tub/ Jacuzzi. Lying there one has perfect

privacy, and looking up one sees the branches of a huge cypress tree

arching over from the garden. The house is magical also – all dark

wood with a high cathedral ceiling. Step out the front door, look

left, and one sees the sea shining in the near distance. Open a

window upstairs and one hears the surf. For me, Seaside Haven is the

heart of Santa Cruz. LB (Vermont and New York)

Very sweet 16!

  • 5 of 5

LOVED the house!! I don't know how you and Joanna don't live there all the

time! We enjoyed our stay and the weather was perfect for my girl's sweet

16. Amazing sunsets every night due to the closeness to the beach- then on to the hot tub! I enjoyed listening to the ocean from the upper deck. The fresh flowers

and eggs were a very nice touch. I hope to be back very soon.

Pleasant weekend get away

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent an anniversary 3-day weekend here. We have stayed in the SC area and other coastal towns using VRBO several times. We were very happy with our experience here. The house and amenities are just as described. The location is also great. Walking distance to the harbor and a nice beach with nightly activity. Our young adult children joined us for a night and they also thoroughly enjoyed the house, area, and especially the hot tub! I would definitely recommend this rental, think it is a great value, and will most likely be back again.

Quintessentially Santa Cruz

  • 5 of 5

Because of this house’s location and atmosphere we had a wonderful time in Santa Cruz. The house is quintessentially Santa Cruz with its unique architecture, floor to ceiling windows and redwood beams. It has plenty of outdoor living space too. It is so close to the beach we walked there almost every evening to view the magnificent sunsets; and the house is close to a main street, so we could easily access shopping, restaurants not to mention kayaking and SUP. We would defiantly look into renting it again.

Best location in Santa Cruz for easy access to beach and town

  • 5 of 5

We spent a great week at the house, and it was the perfect location. We were able to amble to the beach (best on in Santa Cruz for relaxing without the noise of the campers), and a quick drive brought us to town or Capitola for lots of strolling, shopping, and eateries. [Swear by Gayle's for take-out lunch or dinner and awesome pastries for b'fast.] The house was very good for me and my two older teen daughters. Enough places that we could each find our place for quiet time. The deck and hot tub were a nice added treat to star gaze at night. Shyamal - thanks for a great time in CA!

Lovely house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for 2 nights in April, it's really close to the sea and there's a nice walk along the coast to capitola. In the evenings there are fires on the beach so it's a lovely stroll. The boardwalk fair was fun, we're Brits so it had to be done and the best ride is definitely the old roller coaster ! Most things shut by 10pm, including extinguishing fires, but for a restful, and laid back break this was perfect. The wraparound deck, gardens and hot tub are such a treat. We hung out a lot on the deck and loved seeing and hearing lots of birds. Thanks shaymal for a great stay.

Perfect House and Location for Your Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our weekend vacation was great. The house is located only a block from the ocean, in a quiet neighborhood. It has everything one would want in a vacation rental with all the amenities. The deck and the hot tub were very inviting. You are very close to the boardwalk, restaurants, and all the Santa Cruz attractions. The house is located in a great location with privacy and entertainment very near. We look forward to our return trip later this year.
