If we could live in our home year-round we would but we live in Lucerne, Switzerland. We travel back to enjoy the house and its beautiful surroundings as often as we can but we also enjoy sharing our home with others who will appreciate its beauty and simplicity.
Kathy Coyle purchased this house in 2006
We can't thank you enough for sharing with us your incredible home -- the most ideal haven for any and all families! We couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect place to enjoy each other and nature ... complete with more toys and books than can even be counted!!! It was truly a pleasure from start to finish and the kids haven't stopped talking about it since we left. We hope to make it an annual adventure!
Thank you for your amazing attention to detail and thoughtfulness, for opening your home to all of us, and for introducing us to the treasure that is Monterey!
Hopefully everything was found in good order. We left a few items in the fridge and freezer that would be good for quite a while, assuming there might be more renters after us. (if we goofed there and you now just have more to throw away the next time you arrive, I sincerely apologize!) Also, the buckets, shovels, etc were brought up from the downstairs to take to the beach and left on the cutting block in the kitchen. And finally, I *hope* we got all the toys back in their proper, corresponding containers! You have inspired my sister-in-law and I to better organize our toy collections :-)
Thank you again -- to you and to your family. We all send our deepest appreciation and are already looking forward to next summer!
All my best,
Stayed in October 2015 with my wife and 15mo old. The house was perfect. A well organized, clean and comfy home. Very toddler friendly. There was a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs, tons of cool toys (for children young and old) to play with, and chipmunks galore! We had a blast sitting on the porch and watching the chipmunks go about their business. A great way to spend morning coffee time. Speaking of, coffee maker is a keurig, so we bought a 2-pack of reusable keurig pods to sample the local beans during our stay. We left one behind for others to use, but if it's no longer there you can easily get one in town.
The Berkshires are amazing. We really enjoyed exploring the nearby towns. The drives were stunning and worthwhile, and every Main Street we came across had something different to offer. (The Norman Rockwell museum is a must).
The house was perfect for my family coming to the berkshires for a wedding. Plenty of space and toys for my 4 young children to play with. Convenient location!
This home was perfect for a getaway! Incredibly kid friendly! Only complaint was the beds were not very comfortable. Other than that this home offered every amenity and more we could want away from home.
Stayed for 3 nights in May to participate in local marathon. House was perfect for 2 families with young kids. The place is very well stocked with toys, games, books and movies. Everything worked well, the kitchen is well stocked and the yard is perfect for grilling. some minor drawbacks: only 1 full bathroom with shower, no WIFI or cell reception on some carriers. Would definitely come again
My family really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house is located close to Great Barrington (shops, supermarket). This house is perfect if you are traveling with children. It is stocked with toys, books, 2 cribs, high chairs- you don't need to bring any of that! My kids felt right at home and were so excited to play with new toys. The house layout is great with a lot of windows and sunlight and a nice yard to relax in (has a porch swing!) and enjoy meals outside on a picnic table. This house is also close to some beautiful places to hike with kids. We recommend Bash Bish waterfalls- really beautiful! We are looking forward to hopefully making a trip back here again! We recommend this house and the owner is very responsive and accommodating.
Two families, four adults, four kids -- had an excellent stay in this thoughtful, clean, tastefully decorated and appointed home. Couldn't've asked for more!
The Berkshires are known for the cultural abundance as well as several nice restaurants. Our house is located within 20 minutes to the following venues: Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Berkshire Theater Festival and more. The Appalachian Trail is within walking distance of the house. The Berkshires are also offer many hiking and biking trails to enjoy.
