About Marlys Denison

Retired old folks who are anything but retired. We keep busy with exercise, reading, enjoying friends and family, and exploring new things.

Marlys Denison purchased this house in 2017

Why Marlys Denison chose Canyon Lake

We built this in 2017 because we wanted a property we would really enjoy. We stay here too sometimes. It has all the latest appliances, solar energy, easy to keep clean, a friendly village, many interesting venues within a few miles, and a feeling of relaxation.

What makes this house unique

We may retire here when grand baby begins driving herself in a few years. It is in the Texas Hill Country which is beautiful and interesting.

Notes:
I would start each morning with stretching and coffee on the porch and relaxing while looking down the Canyon and planning my day. After this I would walk about a block down to the Lake to see the Sun come up and enjoy the breeze off the clear water. Breakfast on the Porch would be a nice start to the day. Planning each day may include Tubing or fishing on the Guadalupe, shopping in fantastic outlets or in the folksy town of Wimberly about 20 minutes away, historic walks in German areas of New Braunfels would be fun, a night on the river and the Alamo in San Antonio, visiting small towns in the Hill Country, The LBJ ranch is not far away. Maybe just sitting on the porch and playing cards or watching TV is your idea of relaxation. Enjoy, just enjoy.

Exceeded our expectations!

We came up for a weekend of boating and had a blast. The house was nicer than we thought it was going to be. Boat ramp just down the street

Owner's Response: I am so very pleased that you enjoyed Dala Hus. Also pleased that the boat ramp was useful. We want to make it easier to park a boat near the house so I love the fact that you managed to park it. Hope to have you as guests again sometime.

Excellent memorial weekend get away!

  • 5 of 5

The House was perfect for me and a few friends to spend the long weekend at the lake. Everything was very clean, Marlys was very helpful and communicated very well with us. There was a boat ramp within walking distance to the lake, the location could not have been better!

We had a wonderful time on our short stay over spring break. The home was very accommodating for all of our needs. My 2 teenage Children loved all the wild deer that would walk around in the evening and morning time.

Located on the side of a hill there is a beautiful canyon to enjoy while sitting on the large upper porch or exercising on the lower porch. In the summer tubing is popular but there are many other things year around. New Braunfels is about 20 minutes away where you find great restaurants, bars, Christmas lights, a new hospital, etc. Many small communities have concerts, shopping, outlets, markets, festivals fly fishing and great restaurants. Not far away is one of the best outlets in the nation. It has Pottery Barn, Neiman Marcus, J. Crew, Eddie Bauer, LuLu Lemon and many other fine stores. Many people like to drive less than an hour to the River Walk in San Antonio to visit Mexican Market and Restaurant and ride the boat around the river.
