About Michael Easterling

We have enjoyed our Hill Country getaway for the past 7 years. The rest of the world will melt away as soon as you see the beautiful Hill Country scenic views, either from the expansive decks or from any room. We have a few favorite spots we like to sit and enjoy the colorfully generous sun rise and sun sets. Come find yours at our beautiful Point of View.

Why Michael Easterling chose Texas

The view and the serenity was why we chose this home.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

We have decks and sitting areas at many levels all around the home and property. The deck on the second level (main level) goes 360 degrees around the house with amazing views you have to see to believe. It is a 'cool' spot in the dog days of summer as it sits just about tree level and almost always has a good breeze. Even our rare rainy days can be a pleasure from this vantage point.

The outdoor kitchen and dining space are my personal favorites as they have their own unique view of the hills over our terraced garden.

Or you can relax in the hammock (my wires favorite) at the secluded smaller mid-level deck tucked into the trees.

Charming country home

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 stayed for 3 nights. We really enjoyed the house during our short visit. It is secluded enough to feel like you're getting away, but close enough to amenities like the grocery store (HEB about 25 mins in Boerne), to not be inconvenienced. There is also a Dollar General within a few miles of the house that had a pretty good selection of items, too. We spent our days going to Fiesta Texas and Medina Lake, and were glad for the house's comfy beds at the end of the day. Our favorite memory was building a fire on the deck's fire pit area, and listening to old country music while star-gazing. This is a home that we would consider coming back to.

There were five ladies in our group, 4 golfers and 1 very good friend who likes to hang out and ride around the course each day. This home is a little remote which is great because when you sit out on any of the decks, all wraparounds, you feel as though you are many miles from everything since you cannot see any other residence. We all sat out each morning with our coffee and had a very pleasant beginning of the day. Also, Visa, the gray kitty would join us each morning and evening. The evenings were beautiful on the deck because there was always a very pleasant breeze and wide open star filled Texas sky.

The kitchen was very well equipped with small appliances and was large enough for all of us to be in there doing our various duties. The upstairs bedrooms were all very comfortable with good mattresses and every room had an awesome view. The twin bedroom downstairs would be more for children and young adults. It was large with a nice bathroom but the mattresses could be updated.

Michael was extremely easy to work with and addressed any and all issues we had, which were few, and had them corrected the same day. We would stay here again. I miss having Visa around with her happy tail that was always moving in a slow and hypnotizing way.

Best VRBO we have ever stayed at!!!

  • 5 of 5

This property is incredible!!!! We invited our adult children from Illinois to celebrate my husband's retirement. We were 3 couples and a single and the layout was perfect. Each bedroom has a private bath. The house is equipped with everything you could ever need. We hired a Chef to prepare dinner one night.and cooking utensils and large stove and burners were perfect for the event....The tableware, wine glasses, etc. were great, but the best was the heavenly view of hill country while dining. The outdoor space is Paradise with multi level decks, outdoor cooking space and fire pit. The home's location is fabulous - we spent one day in Boerne shopping and visiting Singing Waters winery in Comfort, TX, which in addition to the wine tasting had live music and a food truck. one day in Bandera the Cowboy Capital, and cooled off after breakfast in the creek at Pipe Creek which was clear water and warm. Each activity was a quick less than 35 min drive. Grocery store is close, hiking trails are wonderful. Michael, the owner, stopped over with 2 extra dining chairs (we did not request he just did it out of kindness) as he knew that we had 7 adults. I would most definitely rent this property again. It is clean, gorgeous, and provides beautiful serenity. Additionally, Michaels's recommendations for restaurants is "spot On"....The Backyard Bistro was delightful, and perfect for children. Our 2 little ones played with the Pot Belly Pigs and were enthralled with the chickens, and found the play equipment to be lots of fun.

Beautiful and fun!

  • 4 of 5

There were 6 of us and we had a magnificent time!! The house is beautiful and so are the views! Everything was clean and well-maintained. We would definitely recommend Point-of-View! There were a few issues that I feel like I need to mention just to help future renters. I had emailed Mr. Easterling a week before our trip just to confirm. I never heard back from him. I called him the night before we were due to check in and left him 2 voicemails and never heard back. All of our money was paid of course, so I wasn't too worried, but was uneasy. We were literally driving 10 hours to get there and I tried him another time on the trip. At this point I was getting a little nervous which is not the way I wanted to feel starting out a road trip vacation. We had NO instructions on what to do when we got there. So I called VRBO and told them what was going on. They got a hold of him and he finally called me. The coffee pot didn't work all the time, which is horrible when you're on vacation! there were only 5 chairs at the dining room table so we brought in a patio chair. The fireplace didn't work. The bath in one of the bedrooms is completely useless because it doesn't have a shower, so those guests had to go downstairs to the garage level to shower. The shower in the opposite room stays cold, unless you run the warm water from the bathroom sink for a few minutes and then try the shower. Other than those minor items, (none of them ruined the trip but just wanted all to be aware) we had such an incredible time and fell in love with the resident cat, Viza!! Thank you for renting out your beautiful home!
