The cottage has 2 bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom between the bedrooms. The kitchen and dining room/living room are situated in an open floor plan. The kitchen has all the necessary tools for cooking with a stove and refrigerator for your use.
The love seat in the living room folds out into a twin bed to comfortably sleep a 5th person. Both bedrooms have a new queen size bed which are very comfortable.
I have lived in the area for 20 years and have always dreamed of owning a place on the water. I am lucky enough to have found the perfect spot and to own a piece of paradise. I love sharing this property with others and see the joy they get from being there. I'm an engineer by day and love going out to the cottage as often as possible. Like you, I need a vacation and I am lucky enough to get to retreat to a perfect location.
Gary Hughey purchased this cottage in 2012
This is very close to Traverse City where I both work and live. Leelanau County is one of the most beautiful places in the country and on top of that this cabin nearly boarders Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. I have many excellent memories as a young person visiting the Dunes for the challenging dune climb with my friends. They always wanted to see how fast they could climb to the top! Try it, it will be day to remember!
When this was built, they put it very close to the water. 12 feet past the end of the deck is the water's edge, making the cabin feel like an extension of the lake. There is a fire pit in between the cabin and the water for evenings sitting around a fire by the water. This cabin creates unique opportunity to enjoy the closeness of the water and all the amenities necessary to be comfortable.
The cottage was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The lake was beautiful and perfect for the kids to swim in - it is warm and shallow going out quite a ways. The location was perfect - a short drive from many Sleeping Bear trails and beaches. We were so glad that we didn't stay closer to Traverse City as we would have spent half our trip in the car. The owner was very kind and responsive to my questions. Overall we had a great time and hope to return.
Our stay at this cottage was wonderful and just the right location. The cottage is right on the lake with beautiful views of the sunset. Little Traverse Lake is a nice quite lake with good swimming and warm water. This was a well-maintained property and the owner was very responsive to inquiries. The cottage has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each; perfect for two couples. The kitchen was modern enough and everything worked well.
We had a fantastic time. This little cabin was the perfect place for our week long up north adventure. We loved being right on the little traverse lake, and enjoyed using the row boat provided. The little restaurant/market across the street had awesome pizza and we were close to both Leland and glen arbor. The cabin was clean and perfect for the two of us, there was definitely room for 2-3 more people comfortably. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a get away!
If you're looking for a no-frills, relaxing, lake front cottage that is close to many great areas, this is the place for you! Great communication on the owner's part. Thanks!
We had a wonderful few days in an ideal location. This cabin is a just a wonderful lakefront base for enjoying Glen Arbor, Leland, and Traverse City. Quick access to the wonderful views and hiking of Sleeping Bear Dunes. We found an amazing swimming beach on Lake Michigan just a few minutes away.
This quaint cabin was exactly what we were looking for. A simple little place, perfect for our family of four. Just feet from a crystal clear lake, in which we enjoyed wading, skipping rocks, and taking boat rides. Right across the street is a great little restaurant that also has some general store offerings. The owner is incredibly responsive and clearly wishes for his guest to enjoy the most of this beautiful area.
The cabin on the lake, what more do you need. Water is nice, warm, and clean. The view, incredible, especially when you sitting by the fire ring watching a sunset. My kids had fun swimming, taking a boat on the lake. They had plenty of bord games for the colder days. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much.
This beautiful spot boarders Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which was voted the most beautiful spot in America in 2011. The park has 70,000 acres of spectacular scenery with trails, beaches, scenic drives, and amazing views looking across Lake Michigan.
