About Cassandra

My Name is Cassandra. I have lived in the Berkshires for nearly 25 years, but have travelled extensively. I am the owner of Cassandraevents a floral design studio specializing in Wedding designs and destination weddings. I also teach water fitness, love to hike, mushroom and garden.

Why Cassandra chose Berkshires

The house is located in an ideal spot to have privacy but not be iceolated. It is a quick jump off from the Mass pike and easily accessible to exploring the Berkshires and neighboring Columbia and Duchess County in New York. I would be foolish not to mention what a wonderful village West Stockbridge is. There are some great restaurants and coffee shops, a fun Thursday Farmer Market, and a well stocked Public Market and Wine Store. If you visiting Tangelwood during the summer, Lenox Mt Road allows you to slip in ad out with minimum traffic. There are so many wonderful hikes within five minute drive or just strolling the country roads from the house is always pleasant. The private Quarry is the spot for a summer dip, where you will most luckily have it all to yourselves.

What makes this house unique

The house offers large spaces with high ceiling and wonderful lighting. There is a very large deck that overlooks a large private back yard and view of the woods.

Great family ski retreat

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the house in West Stockbridge, starting with the delicious apple cider donuts that the owner graciously provided to welcome us for our stay. The home is conveniently located from ski resorts and quaint towns (15 minutes from Bousquets and historic Lenox). It was comfortable and perfectly fit the needs of two families with children. Our favorite was hanging by the fireplace and playing games in the evening.

Something for everyone

  • 5 of 5

The house is as lovely and spacious as the pictures indicate, but it's not until you get there that you realize how great the place is. It's got room for kids to play around (and is stocked with plenty of toys and books for small kids), a great deck to barbecue and have evening cocktails on, a spacious kitchen that makes group cooking easy, and enough bedrooms and extra spaces to fit large families comfortably. The nearby private swimming hole was also a delightful excursion. All this, plus you're near enough to civilization -- Tanglewood, Stockbridge, Lenox -- that you can spend your days sightseeing, hiking, and shopping if you want to, then return to a great home base. The owner lives nearby and was extremely helpful and considerate -- she even mailed back a jacket we left by accident. We would definitely recommend the house and hope to return again and again!

Owner's Response: Dear Art and family, I am so happy that you enjoyed the house and made it your home for your week in the Berkshire. It is a very special place. You are always welcomed. I hope that you take me up on my invite back during the winter because the the great room with the fire place and all the windows is magical. Your daughters will be enchanted. My best to you and your family and thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Kindly Cassandra

West Stockbridge home

  • 3 of 5

Convenient location. The property seemed secluded and had nice yard and deck. But, you could still hear cars and a train. The house is worn, although roomy with a big nice kitchen. The decorating was unimpressive. The linens and pillows were also worn. It could use a spruce-up. The large master bedroom has a wall that does not meet the cathedral ceiling. Therefore, there is no privacy in that room and what goes on in the hall sounds like it's happening in the bedroom....and vice-versa. There is no A/C which was less of a problem at night. There was a bit of an ant problem, but we were close to the woods. Ants, however, were found in the sugar bowl. I would not be inclined to rent this space again, although it may be more than adequate for many.

Owner's Response: Dear Paula, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that the house was not a great fit for you and your guest. I take great pride in keeping the house clean and inviting for my guest. The 100% cotton sheets are normally a bonus for most guest, and the original art work complemented on often. The open design of the master bedroom is unique and most often loved for its lighting and great space. Many homes in the area have low ceiling, small rooms, and poor lighting. We achieved the opposite when designing the house. Most of our guest appreciate this. Again I'm sorry that the house was not a great fit for you and your guest and thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Wonderful West Stockbridge stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely 4 days staying toasty by the roaring fire, cooking and playing games! The area is beautiful for skiing, hiking and exploring all the Berkshires has to offer. Cassandra's inviting home, on a beautiful property, made our stay memorable. Thank you!

Great Get Away!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this fantastic house last minute as our ski plans turned into a hiking trip because of poor snow conditions. what could have been a disappointing turn of events for a ski happy family of 5 + dog turned into a fabulous memory due in large part to this spacious and beautiful home. You can see from the pictures that it has vaulted ceilings and a beautiful fireplace. When we were not hiking, we were reading or playing games by a roaring fire. The kitchen is gorgeous and provided lots of open space to cook, eat and hang out. One of the best parts of the house were the 50 windows mentioned in the other review and these provided such abundance of light that you felt you were outside. The bedrooms worked perfectly for of our sons quickly claimed the narrow bedroom on the second floor surrounded with windows...engulfed by the brilliant sun upon waking. our dog felt right at home curled up on the sofa by the fire. Can't imagine how beautiful it would be to be here in the spring or summer. the house is located in what looks to be sprawling farm land with an unexplored lake and rolling hills. We came away totally reconnected and refreshed. Cassandra and her daughter Bridget made themselves available for any questions about dining out or good hikes....and we found their advice right on target. If you want to get away and stay in a spacious, open, private, lovely this one!

Perfect vacation rental!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this home for an entire summer. The house is beautiful and perfectly suited for any sized family. We stayed with two adults and three children (infant-7yrs old), but also had several occasions with overnight guests. Three bedrooms are upstairs, leaving one/two rooms downstairs that functioned as a guest area. It was a perfect scenario with one of the two full bathrooms downstairs, our guests had full privacy.

The house is very well kept, comfortable furniture, modern kitchen, and gorgeous views from the 50+ windows! The back yard is huge and our children spent many hours running around and playing freely. We were very pleased with the quietness and safety of the neighborhood. West Stockbridge is a prime and central location for all of the Berkshire's attractions.

We have rented seasonal homes in the Berkshires for eleven years and this has been our best experience, by far. The homeowners are extremely welcoming and accommodating, making sure we were comfortable during our stay.

We highly recommend this property!
