About Jim and Christine Dickey
Hi, we are Christine and Jim Dickey. We are the owners of the Little Village Café, located below the Loft. www.littlevillagecafe.com We have run the Little Village Café at this location for going on 23 years. We started in Madison, WI in 1989 with a café that sat only seven customers. We outgrew it within a couple of years and moved up the street to a larger space. In 1995 we decided to move to a smaller town to raise our daughter Megan. We loved Baraboo because of the proximity to Devil's Lake State Park. While looking for a home we saw that the owners of the building were interested in selling. Almost 23 years later we have blessed by wonderful people in our lives, which has made our choice successful in every way possible.
Jim and Christine Dickey purchased this Apartment in 1995

Very homey and comfortable
We had a lovely stay. An improvement would be to add some opacity to the curtains in the bedrooms so they would block the light more. The street lights kept us awake the first night. Second night we had put up some sheets to block out more of the lights and it was much better for sleeping.
Great spot in the middle of attractions
Nice location downtown Baraboo with lots of shops within walking distance. Cozy two bedroom apartment over a small diner. The apartment was pretty hot even with the below zero temperatures. The apartment seems to have been converted from a previous office, hardwood floors, high ceilings, lots of windows. The kitchen could use a range for early morning breakfast, but there are some spots around downtown you can grab a bite even on holidays. The TV program is basic, you may want to bring some HDMI compatible devices for your streaming entertainment or you can use the VHS or DVD players on hand. I would definitely want to stay there again some other time.
Lovely, charming and convenient
We stayed at The Loft at Little Village while we were visiting Baraboo during the Fall Art Tour. Baraboo has always been a favorite locale and The Loft was right downtown and made it so easy to walk to so many places. We were totally charmed by the high ceilings, antique light fixtures and original floors. The decor was very calming and tasteful. The bedrooms were comfortable and private. Having a "home away from home" was perfect for us and made our stay quite memorial. Thanks for it all!
Good location, friendly and helpful hosts
The loft is a beautiful space, nicely decorated and well located. We were walking distance to the farmers market, coffee shop, distillery, and restaurants. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions/requests. We enjoyed our stay.
Superbly Helpful hosts, apt was nicely appointed, and close to all the cool things in the Baraboo area. Nice to stay in an historic building, 13' ceilings, beautiful woodwork, great restaurant, "Little Village Cafe" right downstairs, great weekend.
