We loved the open floor plan, private pool, and beautiful lagoon / wood views from almost every window of this home. We hope you love our home too.
A great rental and escape from NYC - this home is as beautiful as it is comfortable. From the bike path that runs through the backyard to the outdoor patio’s golf-course views, swimming pool, and grill, we loved the combination of activity and relaxation. We took advantage of the included bikes to explore the bike path’s route to multiple beaches and the nearby beach club (great for dinner or drinks overlooking the water). The home comfortably sleeps multiple couples or a large family and has a fully equipped kitchen and a great dining space. We anticipated taking advantage of the close proximity to downtown Charleston but liked the home and its surroundings so much that we stayed in Kiawah for the entirety of the weekend. Highly recommend!
My husband and I were recently fortunate enough to stay at this gorgeous home on Kiawah Island. This home was absolutely beautiful both inside and out - pictures do not do it justice! There were 3 couples and we had plenty of room to kick back and relax. The home was very clean and spotless and very well supplied with anything we needed whether it be for cooking in the very large, well-equipped kitchen, right down to beach chairs for an afternoon in the sun! The home has a screened in porch which was the morning gathering place each day for coffee and conversation. We were fortunate to see a lot of wildlife around the house (especially deer). The location was perfect as we were not far from shopping and restaurants and not far from other major cities as well. We spent a day in Charleston while there. The island of Kiawah, itself, is gorgeous, well maintained with gorgeous homes and friendly people. If you get the chance, go to the Ocean View Golf Club, sit on their porch and watch the sunset...GORGEOUS! We rented bikes for the week and we took daily rides all over the island - plenty of trails to enjoy! Riding bikes actually on the beach itself was a real treat. You will be very impressed and pleased to stay at this incredible home! We hated to leave and would love to go back again in the future.
My husband and I went for a week with two other couples and we had the most amazing vacation! We thoroughly enjoyed riding our bikes all over the island; lots of wildlife to see; we even biked ON the beach. The home is beautiful; very, very comfortable; and comes with a fully stocked kitchen if you want to fix some meals at home. If you want to go out, there are plenty of choices both on and nearby the island. Some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. It's good for just relaxing, bike riding, walking, but an easy drive to Charleston for sightseeing as well. The home was immaculate, superbly decorated and had everything needed for a home away from home! We would definitely go back!
We rented this home for a "special" birthday for my husband, along with two other couples. The owner is so lovely and accommodating, and our stay was just wonderful. Located on a cul-de-sac on a quiet road, the house is gorgeous--very spacious, well-appointed and laid out perfectly for a group. The kitchen is huge, and is great for cooking meals, especially when everyone crowds into the room to "help." The way the house is positioned on the golf course allows for plenty of privacy, but also great views from the living room, dining area and back deck. The beach is a quick 11 minute bike ride along Kiawah's wonderful bike paths. The pool was a welcome relief after a "hard" day on the golf course or at the beach, and the house is perfectly cooled with central air conditioning for those steamy South Carolina days. We really enjoyed the location, the comfort of the home, and felt it was a great fit for our group, who are active and like to exercise every day, as well as enjoy some R&R. The first floor Master suite is especially roomy, with a very comfortable Westin Heavenly bed, a separate sitting room with private fireplace, and views out onto the deck and golf course. And the views, the views! Every day, I was amazed at how lovely the views are from the back of the home. The house is very private, and although you can see neighboring properties, there's plenty of room between the houses and also enough tree foliage to provide a nice level of privacy. We enjoyed the Oyster Roast at Mingo point, played golf at Osprey Point, bought fresh fish and veggies at Rosebank farm, rented bikes from Island Bike and Surf (a "must-do"), had lunch at the Ocean Course bar, and shopped easily at Fresh Fields market. If you're a first time visitor, I'd recommend stopping at Fresh Fields on the way and picking up necessities, and then make another trip later during your stay to pick up anything else you need. The Village Market at East Beach village is bike-riding distance, but isn't a full grocery store and doesn't have all the necessities. Fresh Fields is a 20 minute drive from this home. We hope to return to Kiawah and stay in this home again in the future.
Our stay on Kiawah Island was out of this world! This home is extremely beautiful and tucked back in amongst beautiful foliage! The private deck and scenery from the back are exquisite! This home is spacious but also quite private. It's well equipped with the needed amenities and much more! For anyone wishing to escape the fast pace of life, this property is a welcome tranquillity! I'm already looking forward to our Fall stay in Kiawah!
The above description "this is not your average rental property" says it all. We have stayed at many homes on Kiawah and this property far exceeds them all. The house is large enough to provide quiet private space, but the main floor includes a huge kitchen, dining area and living room perfect for large family and friend gatherings. The furnishings are high end and the décor is beautiful.
We stayed in the winter and it was too cool to enjoy the pool, screened in porch, and deck area, but we will be back in warmer weather to take advantage of them as well as the hammock on the deck off of a upstairs bedroom.
There is easy access to the walking paths, golf, and the beach - what more could you ask for. If you need a more cosmopolitan experience, Charleston is a short drive away. Although, I am not sure you would want to leave this beautiful house! WOW!
Kiawah is a private island community located just south of Charleston in the temperate South Carolina Lowcountry where you can bike, hike, golf, boat, swim, bird-watch, fish, dine, shop, socialize, or just relax on the private 10 mile beach.
