Our Stay in Dolce Vita
The beds, linens and kitchen supplies were excellent as was the general space. The community could not have been more welcoming and inclusive to us as renters. We very much appreciated our ability to have our dog and the special arrangement to have a desk in a room with a door so work could be completed remotely.
We wished the garbage disposal and ice maker would have worked. Two exterior doors were difficult to open at times. The internet is very slow and there is road noise that was disruptive to my husband's sleep.
at renters request we also increased the internet speed from 10 to 40 megs. We had no issues the month before at 10 and now at 40 meg we can stream off it with no issues. So I don't know what the problem was with the internet. It works fine for us for email and documents at 10 so we are switching back to that. As to ice maker and garbage disposal they have never worked since we bought the place in 2016 and we prefer ice tray cubes, spheres and shamrocks from the filtered water.
We have not used a garbage disposal in any house in 15 years. It overwhelms the septic tank and sewer system as I understand it. I some use it incorrectly putting al kinds of stuff down it that is not supposed to be used if you live in a low water supply area like Phoenix it uses up extra water to process the waste created. Not good. Best to compost the food as we do. Or place in garbage. No smell as it is picked up twice a week.
The noise does bother me some but does not bother my wife. Route 60 is 300 yards away with tall brush in between. Many houses in the community are much much closer. Some within 100 yards. Anyway this month we are installing sound proofing windows from Indow in Portland Oregon.
We are unlikely to rent again after this experience unless references are superb. We consider HomeAway users to be guests in our house, not renters in a commercial facility. We have rented 5 or 6 homes on HomeAway and have always left a home better than we found it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home in a beautiful 55+ gated community. Great mountain views and great amenities. The house had everything we needed and the communication from the owners was fantastic.
Very Enjoyable place
All the people were very helpful at Dolce Vita. We were able to join in on there activities.
Would recommend for a family. Was a lot of room for just the two of us.
