Great location and lots of character

  • 4 of 5

We loved the apartment. The area surrounding felt very safe and we had lots of restaurant options. For sightseeing almost everything was a reasonable walking distance. The bed and couches were very comfortable and Alban was knowledgeable and helpful. There was a slight musty smell but nothing that would deter me from staying there, overall the place was very clean. Only negative was that the towels were a bit scratchy and the washer machine looked like it had some mildew where u would put detergent in. With that being said the apartment is an excellent value for the location and I would certainly stay here again.

Quaint & Ideal Location Alban~perfect host w Great communication!

  • 4 of 5

This apt is centrally located on a nice side street. Alban met us at the corner & walked us to where the entry was. The door has key padded entry, which opens into an outside corridor, the apt is down to the left on the ground floor. Alban informed us how the entry key worked along with things inside the apt.

The apt is centrally located, within steps of many restaurants, shops, markets and bakeries. Up the end of the street @ Odeon & Conde were many outside cafes. Blvd Saint Germaine is < 2 min walk! On the first day my son & I walked up the Champs de Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe-45min, traversed to the Eiffel tower-20 min and then walked back along the Seine to the apt-55 min Luxembourg Gardens was <4 min walk, Notre Dame <14 min, Louvre 8 min. The apt is convenient enough to return to after sight seeing, rest, freshen up & go back out for dinner. I can't say enough about how convenient a location this was.

We stayed the end of May-June 4 & temps were warmer than usual-85F/29C but the apt was comfortable & cool; in part due to the concrete floor and walls. When inside we we did open the shutters & windows to provide for air circulation. We elected to close them for security when we left & during the night when we slept which gave us privacy and darkness, but could be an issue during warmer periods, as I do not think the apt has A/C.

The apt is set far enough back from the street so it's quiet; only noises that could be heard were occasional neighbors going in/out, or trash being put in the bins located in the corridor area.

The apt is as pictured, with 2 living areas. Main entry is comprised of kitchenette area-small refrigerator, 2 burner stove, sink & sufficient supplies. Off to the side was the dining table/2 chairs. On the table were-electric tea kettle, coffee maker and toaster. One wall had a longer sofa that could convert into a sleeper, the other a shorter sofa & cable TV. WiFi worked consistently.

Bedroom has a Murphy bed w/2 side closets, compact bathroom & small loft area. Bed is 5" mattress on wood slats, closer to Full size, comfortable enough for myself-my 6'1" son decided to sleep on long sofa & slept ok as well. Shower tall enough too

This apt would be 5* perfect if it had a bed w true mattress/box spring, along w xtra pillows & upgraded linens. Only con is ventilation-there is none w/out having windows open, so the apt tends to have a musty odor, esp upon entry. Overall, a great place to stay and feel like you're living in Paris

Wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is located in the very center of the Latin Quarter. It is a one minute walk from the metro stop. There are at least five good restaurants within a minute's walk. It is very quiet, being located in an interior courtyard. The owner met us immediately at the metro stop and led us to the apartment. His English is good and he was most helpful in showing us how to use the apartment. The pictures of the apartment are accurate in their representation of the flat.

This is a basic apartment and, if your goal is to see Paris from its heart, is adequate in its appointments and perfect in its location. We would definitely stay there again.

#1 selling point of this flat: LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5

I would say the very best thing about this flat is its location! Everything you can think of is within walking distance (food shops, good restaurants, bakeries, metro, taxi stand, gardens, etc). It's also on the first floor of a building, so if you have a lot of luggage and/or do a lot of shopping, you don't have to deal with stairs, a narrow staircase, etc).

It is clean and simple, updated, yet still very charming and European. The owner provides just about everything you need for a stay (including iron and ironing board, hair dryer, all kitchen appliances, electrical adapters). The ONE thing I realized ISN'T there: shampoo/conditioner in the shower. Do remember to bring these with you!

One weekday, I was woken up by the upstairs neighbor walking around getting ready for work from 7am - 8am. It wasn't terribly loud, but definitely noticeable. The following night, I turned on a fan for "white noise," and also put in earplugs and didn't have any issues from then on.

I'm not sure if this will happen each time, but upon check-in, the owner did ask me to close the windows a certain way at the end of my stay. I was happy to do this, but wish I had practiced what that involved in advance. The window coverings are trickier than I had expected, so the process took me 15 minutes longer than expected (which is hard when you're trying to race out the door to get to the airport). So just do plan to figure out how to do that before the last-minute.

And don't forget the owner will want your 75 euros (cleaning fee, which he collects himself) upon check-in, so have that ready when you arrive.

Quiet & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay in this apartment! It is clean, efficient, quiet and cozy. Yet in the middle of everything- close to restaurants, shopping, Metro and buses.

Alban was great to work with!
