About Ron Sagerson

I live in a rural area on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. The winter weather here is a bit on the soggy side, and I am looking forward to the sunshine and warm breezes of Maui.

Ron Sagerson purchased this condo in 2013

Why Ron Sagerson chose Maui

I fell in love with the snorkel cove in 2012 when I stayed in the other resort on Honokeana Cove. I kept looking across at Napili Point Resort and thinking what a great place it appeared to be. I was right on that score, and when the owners put their beautiful unit up for sale, I jumped at the chance to be an owner.

What makes this condo unique

There are only a few locations on Maui where you can walk out the front door and be snorkeling with the fish and sea turtles within minutes. Napili Point is one of them. With sandy Napili Bay beach a few minutes walk away, this resort has everything for fun in the ocean!

Guestbook comments from the owner

-This condo was perfect for our first family vacation to Maui. It really felt like paradise sitting on the lanai watching the turtles and rainbows everyday with the great view this unit has. The condo was clean and well stocked with any cookware or utensils we needed during our stay. The beds were comfy and the second bedroom a/c was also nice to have. The complex bbq's worked good and were cleaned daily for all guests to use.

It was great to be able to snorkel in the cove with the turtles or take a short walk to Napili Bay depending on what we wanted to do. The condo had chairs and boogie boards to use which we put to good use.

You couldn't ask for a better owner to deal with than Ron. He answered every question we had prior to the trip and responded very quickly. We are already planning what we want to do on our next Maui vacation and hope to stay here again.

Mahalo Ron!

Great Stay in Napili

Loved it. Location is great, problems minimal and on-island support was immediate. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Idyllic Spot at Napili Point

  • 5 of 5

I just came back from staying at Napili Point with my husband and another couple, who are good friends. The condo has two ample bedrooms (one with a kingsized bed and one with two twins) and two bathrooms. It is clean, well maintained, and well stocked as far as kitchen needs, towels, a washer and dryer, pillows, and it is very comfortably set up. The only air conditioning is in the twin bedroom but we never turned it on--we had great breezes that cooled the place and there are ceiling fans. The best thing about the condo is that the lanai off the living room overlooks a beautiful cove--the condo is a corner unit on the second floor so the lanai is extra spacious. We could see the sea turtles swimming around and poking their heads up. The complex also has a beautiful pool overlooking the bay. We ate breakfast almost every morning on the lanai and watched the sunset from there every evening. I am older and found the place to climb down to the snorkel cove too difficult so we went to nearby beaches such as Kapalua and Kanapali, where we could walk in from the beach to find great snorkeling. There are many good beaches and restaurants nearby. I enjoyed the peacefulness of Napili Point, especially since parts of Maui are much more built up and busy. It was always great to come back to the condo after the day's activities. The owner is very accommodating. We especially enjoyed a day trip to the Upcountry and breakfast at Slappy Cakes, which is just up the road from the condo (they put a pancake griddle on your table and you can make your own pancakes with different toppings). I would recommend this condo to my friends and I would return next month if I could.

Beautiful condo overlooking the ocean and Molokai

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful 8 days in this condo in August. It was extremely well equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen had all the pots and pans and dishes necessary for cooking at home. The washer and dryer inside the condo were great to have. The beds were comfortable and every room had a TV so we could watch the Olympics when we wanted a break from the beach. It was nice to have a private ensuite master bedroom while our teenagers had their own living space. My daughter slept in the living room and my son in the second bedroom (which has two beds). The towels and linens were of good quality. Beach towels were supplied. I was initially concerned about not having AC since we were there in August but this was not an issue at all since the trade winds, ceiling fans and slatted screen windows kept the condo comfortably cool.

There is a supermarket just down the road, and several restaurants close by where you can order take-out if you don't want to go out to dinner or cook every night.

The location is on a secluded cove full of sea turtles. A few minutes walk is Napili Shores which is a gorgeous sandy bay. There is a place next door to rent Stand Up Paddle boards and surf boards. There is a zipline at Kapalua a few minutes down the road. Lahaina is a 10 minute drive. The beach, hotels and resorts at Kaanapali are a little closer. We made the trek to see the Haleakala crater which was an exciting journey but the crater was shrouded in clouds so we didn't see anything at the top. If you go, try to pick a clear day.

The owner was very responsive to questions and a pleasure to deal with.

Our only regret was that we didn't bring binoculars.

I highly recommend this condo.

Owner's Response: Aloha Jane, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Binoculars are good to bring, especially during whale watching season (November to April). Next time?--Ron

Lovely view right on a secluded cove

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely condo with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The smaller bedroom has Ac just as described. The lanai had tables and chairs available to relax and enjoy the view and the amazing Maui sunsets. We liked that it was on a corner so there was always a breeze.

Nicely appointed kitchen, all the pots, pans and utensils you need to cook your own meals while staying. Was awesome to have a washer and dryer in the condo so we could pack lighter and just wash as needed.

It was convenient also that there were beach towels, chairs, and umbrella and boogie boards available for use. We preferred to go snorkeling in the cove rather than walk to the beach, but it was nice to have the option.

The grounds are very well maintained and there was always plenty of parking. The pool was super clean and sparkly.

I think really our only complaint was that the living room furniture wasn't very comfortable to lounge on. All three of us had to share the couch when we were hanging out inside since the chairs were quite stiff.

It wasn't too big of a deal since we were mostly out in the water or on the lanai.. But something to keep in mind if there are more than three people staying.

All in all it made for a beautiful vacation! Thanks Ron!!

Great location/Great vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at Napili Point. The unit was just as promised. We just loved sitting on the lanai, drinking coffee and watching the turtles bobbing around in the cove. The unit was well stocked with all sorts of little things that made our stay so much easier and it had a wonderful cross breeze at all times to help keep us cool. The kids loved being able to walk to the beach, go snorkeling and then play in the pool, all without using our rental car. We would absolutely look forward to returning and staying here again!!

Fantastic, Beautiful, Peaceful Location!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, I can't say enough about how nice this unit in Napili Point is! We had a little mix-up with making the twin beds into a king, but Dawn, the island manager, took care of that really promptly and everything else was smooooooth sailing! I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the twins made into a king bed actually was and the separation of the two bedrooms allowed for plenty of privacy (we were two couples sharing the condo). The condo is a corner unit which makes the lanai particularly spacious. It was so nice to sit out there and watch the turtles bobbing around in Honokeana Bay (the cove the condos overlook) every morning. We counted 14 turtles in the cove one morning! The snorkeling in this little bay is fantastic...we saw so many fish, turtles, eels, even a ray!

There's a gorgeous beach within easy walking distance (Napili Bay), with deep sand and excellent swimming and you can rent paddle boards there or, if even better, go to Water Works right next door to the condo and the wonderful folks there will fix you up! If you continue walking past Napili Bay, you'll end up on the Kapalua Coastal Trail (about a 4 mile round trip from the condo) and see nesting seabirds called "shearwaters" (they burrow in the ground to make their nests!), plus more beautiful beaches, and cool eroded rocks that are just as weird and interesting as the "Dragon's Teeth" that the guides mention.

The condo itself was really comfortable and very nicely decorated. It was clean and cool (and we had some hot days)...keeping the windows open and the fans on kept the whole place a very pleasant temperature. And the! We've stayed at a number of places that claimed to be "fully stocked" and turned out to have 3 chipped plates, 2 forks and one peeeling teflon frying pan. Well, not THIS kitchen! It had everything we could want and more. Waffle-maker, espresso-maker, hibachi for real grilling, rice-maker, lots of all the utensils, cups, plates you'd want.

Kudos for the owners for making the condo such a wonderful place to stay, kudos to Dawn for being so responsive, we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more!

Owner's Response: Peggy, thank you for this lovely review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in C37. The Kapalua Coastal trail is a must do walk which is very accessible from Napili Point. I should point out that the hibachi which you found in the unit should not have been there. Grilling on the lanai is not allowed by house rules, as it is a fire hazard. I will try to get that message out better to future guests. The grills near the swimming pool are cleaned daily and should be in good working order. Thank you again for your kind words--Ron
