Four-story, fully renovated, fully furnished two-bedroom, (sleeps 5-6) two bathroom Victorian home. Minutes walk from downtown and on a quiet street. Located in the historic area of downtown. Wifi, TV. Fully equipped kitchen five appliances. Living room with wood stove insert, flat panel TV. 2nd floor: bedroom with queen and single bed, bathroom. Third floor: open concept with en suite, king size bed, washer and dryer, great view. Linens Included. Private double level back-deck with barbecue. Our home is in a quiet residential area and we do not wish to faciliate any events with large groups of people such as weddings, parties or large social gatherings.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

The St.John's harbour is a two minute walk. Whales and boat tours available. The stunning battery hiking trail is 10 minutes away.

About Esther Squires

I have been living in Newfoundland for my whole life. I grew up in the Ferryland Lighthouse with my parents who are artists. The picture is of my dad sketching on our property on the Burnt Head Loop Trail. It is 1 hour from St.John's and is an incredible hike to do while visiting St.John's.

Why Esther Squires chose St. Johns

Our property is a typical St.John's town house. It is perfectly located and within walking distance to everything. The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery is 5 minutes up the hill. Downtown is 1 minute down the hill. The harbour is a 5 minute walk where you can go on a boat and jig for cod or take in some whale watching. George St. is 5 minutes away and has too many pubs to even mention. There is wonderful traditional music in many of them and you can sing and dance along till the wee hours of the morning.

What makes this house unique

The first floor has an open concept and the kitchen is very large and can accommodate many people who like to share cooking. The dining room has a brick chimney with a wood stove insert for a cozy fire in the evenings.

This Victorian home was perfect.

This home has a lovely dining and sitting room at the front and a kitchen at the back. The second and third floors both have bedrooms and full bathrooms allowing my husband and I to have one floor to ourselves and the third member of our group to have his own space. This allowed us to be together in a central area of the home and also to have our own private areas to withdraw to when we wanted. We found the home to be within easy walking distance to Mile One Centre and to the downtown area for shopping, restaurants, and bars yet far enough away that any late night noise did not interfere with our sleep. If we had a question the homeowners were quick to respond and we felt our comfort was their main concern. Esther and her husband were lovely to deal with and I would not hesitate to recommend them or their home to anyone else. Their hospitality made our trip to St. John's that much more enjoyable. Great house, perfect location!

The house was warm and charming, and perfectly located in the heart of St. John's. From the fully equipped kitchen to the large master bedroom (complete with king size bed!), every effort was made to make us feel right at home! It was a pleasure doing business with Esther, and we'll definitely be back!

Fabulous stay in St. John's

My husband and I stayed here along with his sister and her husband at the end of May. We had a fabulous time in St. John's! The property is ideally located so that we could easily walk around downtown. The included parking ensured we didn't need to worry about parking our rental car. The house was extremely comfortable and had all the necessary amenities for us to cook our meals. Esther made the booking and arrival process simple and was very accommodating of our early morning arrival. We would love to stay at this house again the next opportunity we have to visit St. John's!

Great way to experience St John's

I recently visited St John's for my sisters wedding. I stayed a week at 36 Victoria Street with my fiancé, sister, brother in-law and brother.

My experience started off great from the minuet I booked the house. Esther was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The house definitely lived up to our expectations. It was very charming. comfortable and clean. There was definitely plenty of room for all 5 of us. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed including the Keurig machine, which we got plenty of use out of.

We couldn't have asked for a better location. Water Street and George Street were just a quick walk away. It was also great just walking around the neighborhood and enjoy the jellybean row houses. I would recommend renting a car that way you can see everything that St. John's and Newfoundland has to offer. A parking pass for downtown is included with the house rental making it really easy to park at the house and around downtown.

I would highly recommend staying at 36 Victoria Street.

Great Location in St. John's

This is a fantastic property. Lots of art on the walls. Lots of beds for the kids. 3rd Floor master bedroom to get away from the kids. Great location from which to explore St. John's. We would certainly try to stay here again if we return to St. John's.

What a great spot in St John's!

My sister and I along with our spouses stayed at 36 Victoria for 4 nights. We enjoyed our time there very much - it is a warm and inviting home that features a great updated kitchen and a fantastic deck in the backyard. It was wonderful to purchase some fresh fish and meat from the local butcher and have a barbecue on the back deck! The location is perfect and we often walked to the downtown core in the evenings for dinner. We look forward to another visit to Newfoundland and would not hesitate to stay at this location again.
