Our mother purchased our beach home in 1979, creating many years of bond fires on the beach and wonderful family memories for 4 generations.
Debbie Seivers purchased this house in 1979
Our mom purchased our beach home to re-create the memories she cherished as a little girl growing up in the the late 30's, 40's and early 50's. Our family has vacationed in Rockaway Beach since. Creating the memories she wanted to continue with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Our home in our opinion has the perfect location, our stretch of beach in never over crowded, you can light those afternoon fires for hot dog roasts or the late night bonfire. You are close enough to the house to run up in case you need more graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate or need a blanket..... it is the Northwest....
Very comfortable, clean and well stocked. and only a short walk to a quiet beach. Close to lots of vacation spots.
I absolutely loved this house! My fiancé and I were able to get married on the beach that was a short walk from the house and I just could not have asked for a better house! We then spent the week relaxing at this amazing little house for a few days following the wedding. The beach is huge and beautiful and you're right in front of the twin rocks. Everything in the house is modern and updated. I just can't speak enough positivity about our experience. Private and perfect. Wish we could've stayed longer.
We stayed here recently and I guess because it said sleeps 6 I never thought to look at the square footage, (lesson learned) we had six and were cramped had to set up our beach chairs for more comfy seating. Overall it's a nice house, dryer didn't work well could only use it for sheets and towels. No back yard the parking in the gravel up front is the yard. The walkway to the beach is nice and having it that close was good I just for the price was expecting better. Overall we made it work and enjoyed eachother.
We were very impressed with this rental. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Beds were comfortable! Not alot of living room seating but we made it work. Will definately book at this place again in the future.
We found this house 5 star clean and comfy. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows. The bathrooms had more than enough towels and washcloths which was nice not having to do laundry every day. The kitchen was lovely and the best equipped rental kitchen I have ever stay at! There were measuring cups, measuring spoons, and any pan you could ever need. There was even a rolling pin! We loved that being the cooks and bakers that we are. The location was also wonderful. Although not facing the beach, it was a short walk through a lovely wooded area to a bluff where we watched fireworks on the 4th just perfectly. This pathway is an easy walk to the beach with no steep hills or slippery rocks to climb down. Overall, this was probably the most enjoyable stay at the beach that we have taken in years.
We absolutely loved our stay, so close to the beach was very nice. We could watch sunsets with a drink in hand and not have to drive back to the house. Also loved having our dog with us and not having to leave her with a care taker. The house has everything one would need could not believe everything in it. Loved having tile thru out, big benefit there as well .We felt very safe there too. Me and my daughter-in-law would walk to the Jetty where our guys spent most of the time fishing it was so nice. Loved having a kitchen where I could cook and save some money as well .Would recommend this place to all, Thank You letting us stay at your home! I some day hope to return as well.
Start making memories today! Having grown up making wonderful memories here at the Hideaway for over 30 years, we want to continue to pass that on to our children and grandchildren.
Enjoy the beautiful beach, go crabbing or stroll around in town. When you get back our home is ready for you and your family.
Here are a few of the things our family likes to do:
Take the train from Garibaldi or Rockaway to Wheeler
Visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and the Air Museum
Stop by the Blue Heron in Tillamook and the Nehalem Bay winery for some wine tasting.
Rent a boat and go crabbing in Brighton or make a reservation on one of the many deep seas fishing vessels out of Garibaldi.
We hope that you too will find the Hideaway a home away from home that will create memories for years to come for your family as it has for ours. Each season at the Hideaway brings its own beauty, whether it’s frolicking in the water, watching the storms roll in or making that bonfire to roast the smores for the kids.
