About Debbie Seivers
Our mother purchased our beach home in 1979, creating many years of bond fires on the beach and wonderful family memories for 4 generations.
Debbie Seivers purchased this House in 1979
Why Debbie Seivers chose Rockaway Beach
Our mom purchased our beach home to re-create the memories she cherished as a little girl growing up in the the late 30's, 40's and early 50's. Our family has vacationed in Rockaway Beach since. Creating the memories she wanted to continue with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Our home in our opinion has the perfect location, our stretch of beach in never over crowded, you can light those afternoon fires for hot dog roasts or the late night bonfire. You are close enough to the house to run up in case you need more graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate or need a blanket..... it is the Northwest....

Loved the house, so close to the beach. Perfect for our family of 4 and our fur babies! Thank you, we will be back!
Not Quite What We Were Expecting
When we got to this home, there were sheets and towels hanging on the tops of a couple of doors and folded sheets and mattress pads on the unmade beds. There was a miscommunication with the cleaning staff and the owner so the house was not ready for us. But apparently we were supposed to make our own beds. It seems to me, if I'm paying $300 a night, the bed should be made. There was sand on everything...floors, tables, counters, etc., a dead fly in the window sill, spider webs in the windows, the mirrors weren't clean, they don't supply soap (however, there were used body wash bottles in the cupboards, but that felt weird using someone else's used bathing products). There was a nice big, soft chair in the kids' room, but it was piled very high with extra blankets. It would have been nice to have that chair available, either in the bedroom or the living room for extra seating. There was only one usable closet, and it was in the master bedroom. The armoire/wardrobe in the kid's room was unusable because it was absolutely stuffed to the max with extra pillows and blankets. (Don't know how many extra blankets and pillows one 788 sf house needs). There is so much empty space under the bunk bed that I would think all that extra stuff could be stored there. The one lovely feature was the close proximity to the beach and the weather was picture perfect, so that definitely saved the trip. I did speak with the owner and she was very nice, but I would not stay in this house again.
The Perfect Little Beach House
My family and I had a wonderful time in this cute beach house. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing and close to the beach! The house was clean and inviting and had plenty of space along with everything that we needed. Each bedroom had its own bathroom as well. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to escape to the coast!
Amazing place, wish I didn't have to leave.
Loved the location, MAYBE 500 steps to the beach. House is cozy and well furnished, nice neighbors if you introduce yourself. One highlight was the night we had a fire on the beach. The water was bioluminescent and the stars, OH THE STARS!!!Bring a telescope. Upon my return home I found that I had lost my glasses, I contacted the owner and she checked with the house cleaner. They were found and promptly sent to me. The place was amazing the town is quite nice and above all, the beach life is something I could get used to. Oh, and I also suggest bringing kites.
One very nice rental
We have two adults and two kids (13 and 16) and thought the house was just the right size for us, we never felt cramped. The bedrooms are located on opposite ends of the house which is nice. We also had a small dog and the house really doesn't have a yard, but our dog did go potty in front of the house and at the beach so it wasn't a problem for us.
We were very happy with the house's appearance. The kitchen was especially nice and easily has everything you need as far as pans and dishes. The fridge has an ice maker and water dispenser, which we used many times while we were there. It was very nice to have 2 separate bathrooms and they were nice in appearance as well.
The beach is down a path about 100 yards and is easy to get to. We were very happy with the access we had to the beach. The Twin Rocks are right at the end of the path!
One piece of advice I have is if you need groceries to get them at the Fred Meyer in Tillamook. The two local stores are about twice the price for most things.
A few minutes to the actual beach. Can't thank the owner enough for a glorious trip and want to make it an annual trip!!! Best vacation ever!!!
Start making memories today! Having grown up making wonderful memories here at the Hideaway for over 30 years, we want to continue to pass that on to our children and grandchildren. Enjoy the beautiful beach, go crabbing or stroll around in town. When you get back our home is ready for you and your family. Here are a few of the things our family likes to do: Take the train from Garibaldi or Rockaway to Wheeler Visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and the Air Museum Stop by the Blue Heron in Tillamook and the Nehalem Bay winery for some wine tasting. Rent a boat and go crabbing in Brighton or make a reservation on one of the many deep seas fishing vessels out of Garibaldi. We hope that you too will find the Hideaway a home away from home that will create memories for years to come for your family as it has for ours. Each season at the Hideaway brings its own beauty, whether it’s frolicking in the water, watching the storms roll in or making that bonfire to roast the smores for the kids.
