At Puamana, you can relax away from the crowds one would encounter at any of the large resort complexes and still have the luxury of being an easy walk or bike to the shops, restaurants and nightlife of Lahaina.

Activities abound both on-site and nearby including two 18-hole championship golf courses in Kaanapali, hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, tennis, shopping, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, surfing and stand up paddleboarding. Seasonally, the migrating whales put on an incredible show.

At Puamana you will find 3 different swimming pools for your enjoyment while staying at this condo. The first and most impressive is the 'Ocean Pool' located directly on the ocean's edge, you will find this pool very peaceful and serene for your quiet enjoyment. The pool located closest to the condo is called the 'Dolphin Pool' and is available for your active enjoyment, as is the third pool, the 'Mountain Pool' which is located near the badminton and tennis courts.

Wonderful renovation. Perfect for us, teens and grandparents.

It was such a peaceful stay and amazing unit with a propane BBQ!!! We loved our home cooked dinners taken every sunset to the club house and gazebo. (We were still on mainland time zone). Wonderful, loud flocking birds at sun set, such a symphony! This is Maui! Amazing setting and accommodation. Check out the huge mango trees.

Fantastic Family Vacation

Great location, close to town and a drive away from several great beaches. The house is spacious and private. We were here for 10 days and did not want to leave. Will definitely be back.

Spacious, comfortable beds, quiet community, walk to the ocean and town

We really enjoyed our stay at the Captain's House. We had 3 young kids and 2 adults. The layout was perfect for us with all the bedrooms upstairs. The pictures really don't do it justice, it is much nicer than it looks. Air conditioning and fans kept us nice and cool though it was hot outside. We loved the large canvas prints all over the house. The price was really excellent for the size and location. There is a closet in the garage of pool and beach stuff, which we added to because we didn't realize it was there at first. I would definitely rent here again. There were just a few minor inconveniences. The owner/manager was slightly difficult to get ahold of via VRBO or HomeAway. It took me a week to get ahold of her a few weeks before our trip. But when we got there, she was very responsive via phone or text and we were able to check in early. There was not quite enough toilet paper or paper towels in the house for us for the week. And there were not enough hooks for towels let alone bathing suits. There were also a few roaches, but I think this is common in Maui given the weather because the unit was very clean upon our arrival. All in all, it was an excellent vacation.

Good overall; small shortcomings

As a family of six adults, we had a great stay overall! Excellent location; pleasant townhome; nice pools.

Some minor additions are needed to make this an outstanding vacation rental:

1. The twin bedroom is inadequate for two adults: no mirror, closet, or even hooks for clothes; beds are uncomfortable; fan vibration is unbearable at higher speeds. If you want us to use the fans rather than the A/C, then the fans need to work well.

2. Inadequate rails and hooks to dry bathtowels, teatowels, wet clothes etc. in bathrooms and kitchen.

3. Kitchen accessories and utensils were great quality, but there were too few dishes for 6 people.

4. Floor mats at both doors would really help keep dirt out of the house.

5. A dishcloth would really help in keeping counters, stovetop, tables clean...the sponge is inadequate.

6. The icemaker and the vent over the stove did not work. The microwave also acted up at one point. Lindsay responded promptly to our note about these but they were not repaired while we were there.

7. We were surprised that we had to buy our own toilet paper...the initial supply lasted only a few days. Maybe this is common, but none of us had encountered this before.

8. The charges for parking seemed a bit excessive to us. Every unit has a designated parking space so surely at least one parking space should be included in the rental fee.

9. We were given the wrong pool and pedestrian gate codes when we arrived....we arrived on Friday and were given the codes for the following week. Not a big deal, but still another inconvenience.

Overall, we enjoyed Puamana and had a great time here.
