Postcard Views Fr Every Room In 5 King Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, 10 Sleeps Cottage
Experience charming, picturesque Bailey Island a Maine Casco Bay Coastal Island destination for vacationers from all over the world for over 100 years. Because Bailey Island is now connected to the mainland by the World's only existing Cribstone Bridge, it is no longer necessary to take a ferry to visit. 2013 built large 5 king bedroom Ocean House with incredible panoramic views in all directions with back of House located less than 50 feet from Merriconeag Sound on West Side and front of House less than 50 feet from Garrison Cove on East Side of Oceanfront House. Every room has incredible long distance oceanfront views. The view from the front of our property was recently listed in the 60 Year Anniversary Edition of Downeast Magazine as one of the best views in Maine. The House is surrounded by so much water and ocean scenery, you will feel like you are cruising on a boat. See beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the large windows and decks on East, West and North sides of the House. House is in the middle of Lobster Land. Garrison Cove is a working lobster harbor with several lobster boats moored and a working lobster dock in front of the House. Walk 200 yards to famous Cook's Lobster Restaurant and Lobster Pound and eat lobsters at the Restaurant or buy precooked lobsters at the Pound or live ones and cook them at the House. You won't taste fresher or better lobsters anywhere. The lobsters you eat are caught in the waters surrounding the House on the same day by the lobster boats moored directly in front of the House. If you have your own boat, we have a deep water mooring you can use located in Garrison Cove in front of our property. House has many amenities including 60 inch TV and Surround Sound System and gas log fireplace in living room, WIFI throughout house, and 32 inch TVs in all 5 Bedrooms, 3 of which have private decks. Central air conditioning, screen porch overlooking Sound, and decks on both side of house and huge raised sun deck on edge of Merriconeag Sound. The views around the House, especially Garrison Cove and the Cribstone Bridge, are some of the most photographed scenes on the Maine Coast and extend to Small Point to the East, High Head to the North, Harpswell Neck to the West and Cape Elizabeth to the Southwest. From the House, screen porch and decks, see seals swimming in the Sound, lobster men and women setting and pulling traps, and Casco Bay Lines ferry boats, kayaks, skiffs, sailboats, tuna, fishing and lobster boats cruising by just a stones throw from the shore of the property. Walk on the beach on the front of the House adjacent to Garrison Cove or the shoreline on the deepwater oceanfront side finding shells, crabs, mussels, snails, sea glass, driftwood and other ocean treasures.

A wonderful location for those looking for picture perfect views with exceptional accommodations.
Four of us stayed for a long weekend and we couldn’t be more delighted with the house, views, local food options and the ease of communication with the owners. It’s just far enough away from larger towns to get away from it all, yet close enough to enjoy the shopping and dining options that Maine is known for. It’s also cool to see your lobster dinner for that night being caught in the bay next to your deck!
Moving panoramic scenery. Great local food
Great host, well appointed home, walkable shops and public beach, superior view
Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Spectacular home and location
We enjoyed this fabulous home for four nights for a girls weekend! The accommodations were perfect for each of us having our own space and coming together in the open living areas and kitchen. Not a bad room in the house! We particularly enjoyed the sunsets on the deck overlooking the water. The hosts planned for every detail including soft and snuggly throws for the cool evenings. We were treated with a yummy tray of goodies in the frig. The owners were easily accessible for a quick question and called mid-way through our stay to be sure we were enjoying ourselves.
The location was perfect - quiet, beautiful and a stones throw from a great restaurant. We are already making plans to return to this spectacular home!!
Glad you enjoyed your stay and had a great girls weekend. Thank you for the great review.
Great property. Magnificent views.
I highly recommend Morse's Cribstone Restaurant for lobster. 1 1/2 pound live was $6 cooked to go $7. No brainer. Less than 5 minutes back to the house. Overall the house, food, northeast Maine and the people were an excellent experience.
Excellent Coastal House for Classic Maine Vacation
In early August, my wife and family (3 adult children, two of their spouses, two grandchildren) spent a week at the McAdam's Flying Lobster House on Bailey Island, Maine. It was a most satisfactory experience. The house itself is well appointed, has great views of the adjacent sound, and is located on a narrow strip of land near a dock and lobster pound servicing a number of lobster boats, and Cook's restaurant which of course features very fresh sea food. The interior of the house, with four bedrooms and three full baths, was very adequate for our group. The kitchen and dining area is very open with picture windows on the local scenery, including the bridge on to Bailey Island. The roads on Bailey Island and nearby Orr's Island are narrow and winding, and not particularly well suited to day time activities like jogging or bicycling. There is a small cove with fishing boats and smaller tender boats just outside the front door of the house, which I found was very enjoyable for swimming, particularly at high tide. There's another larger beach on the east side of the Island that's even better for swimming, although not as conveniently located. Morse's restaurant, about 300 yards from the house, was our favorite, with crowds to indicate that we weren't alone in our opinion. There's a kayak and paddle board rental shop in easy walking distance, although we didn't use their services. We did most of our shopping in Brunswick, a scenic 14 mile drive away, although there is a small General Store on Bailey's Island. At the end of the day, this is a very good accommodation for a classic Maine seaside vacation.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your great review. There is one correction. We have 5 bedrooms, not 4 as stated in the review. Hope you and your family can visit The Flying Lobster House again.

Wonderful place to relax
This was our second stay at the Flying Lobster House and it was just as great the second time. We cooked several meals and always had the pans and dishes we needed. We loved sitting on the big deck by the water in the morning and evening watching the boats and wildlife. Walked some of the trails nearby and enjoyed those. Saw several seals on an island in the cove by Devil's Back trail. Took a ride on the schooner Alert at the end of the road. We recommend it to everyone. So relaxing and informative. Had wonderful scones at the Salt Cod Cafe. Morse's Cribstone Grill has never disappointed us with their food and friendly service. There are always plenty of things to do in the area or it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view.
Welcome back. Glad you had a great second stay. Thank you for your review.
