Thank you for considering our home.
The home backs up to the woods. You can literally hike, mountain bike, quad or motor cross ride directly out the back door and explore the many abandoned gold mines and other smaller lakes. It is important to know that this rental is ideally set up for four people (2 adults and 2 children) . Five is possible if you brought an inflatable mattress or slept on the couch. The home is 1/2 mile away from a wonderful beach and picnic area. The address is 29529 Highway, 89, Canyon Dam, CA 95923. I would encourage anyone who's considering renting this place to give me a call. I will gladly answer whatever questions you may have. The number listed is my cell phone. Summer rental periods are from Saturday to Saturday. Thanks!! Robert
Hi everyone. I am the owner of the home and the kayak shop which is located next to the home. This is the third year I am offering this home for rent. So far, I have had a really positive experience with everyone and they have also really enjoyed the place. Please give me a call if you want to talk about it. I would be happy to answer any questions you have.
The benefits of this property are vast. As mentioned earlier, it backs up to the woods where you can hike, mountain bike, ride quads and or motorcycles til your hearts content. The beach with barbecues and picnic area is just 1/2 mile away. An easy walk or bike ride.
This was our second year staying at this property and I will be back next year! This is the perfect cabin for my wife and I and our fishing spot is just 5 min. down the road. The cabin has everything we need including a washer and dryer which Robert just added this past year. This is a nice roomy cabin with a nice patio to sit out on and tell lies about the days fishing! Thanks for a great stay Robert and we'll be back next year!
This is a wonderful place. Very clean, nice and comfortable. It's near the road, but it's not noisy. The owner is a nice guy. Very accommodating and super friendly. We loved our stay.
We go to the mountains every year for a fishing trip and this has been the best cabin we have stayed in. The cabin had everything we needed and even though we didn't go until after Robert had closed his kayak shop for the winter he still left us a couple of kayaks to use just in case we wanted to try them. We are in our 60's and this cabin was nice and roomy. This would also be a great place for a family with a couple of kids because they would love the bunk beds. Even though it does not have satellite TV, Robert has a great selection of movies and if you just have to see the news he does have wifi. The location is also great for our fishing, like a mile away and since we can be a little forgetful there is a general store to pick up those things left behind. The price was also great compared to other places we looked at. I would recommend this cabin to any of my fishing buddies as long as they don't try to rent it when we want it....hahaha! The cabin also has a very comfortable bed! Thanks Robert for letting us use your well cared for cabin and I look forward to using it again next year!!!
We had a delightful stay at this affordable vacation rental. We enjoyed the coziness, decor and wonderful setting in the trees. We also really appreciated all the lights in the living room by the comfortable couch and by the comfortable master bed. We like to read and your books were great. We did not have any troubles with equipment or such. We appreciated the fans to circulate the air so we were real cool and all the hooks for coats and clothes. We made quite a few meals in the great kitchen.
We were able to watch a few of the DVD, do our puzzle, do some hiking and swimming. The swimming hole at Indian Falls was fabulous. Additionally, we enjoyed eating at the West Almanor Golf Course. We ate lunch there on Tuesday and then went back on Friday night for dinner we were able to watch the deer graze while have a delicious dinner outside on the patio. Beautiful. Thanks for the local information, maps and guides.
Especially, thanks for a great stay. We would hope to stay there again.
This was our first VRBO rental. I decided to plan a get away earlier that week for a long weekend before Summer came to an end. My husband and I had never been to this part of California, and thankfully the owner, Robert, was able to square away the details for our stay on such short notice. We spent most of our time exploring Lassen Volcanic National Park, and this rental was in a good location to drive to different areas of the park. The kitchen was great to have in order cook breakfast, prep our snacks/lunch, and make a home cooked meal after a day of hiking. The living room was also a nice place to lounge and watch a movie after our park adventures. We also took advantage of kayaking on Lake Almanor after hiking Cinder Cone. We just wish we had more time to spend at the rental and kayaking on the lake. This place was great, and we were sad to have to leave!
We stayed there over Labor Day weekend. I don't really have much to add that the other reviews haven't already mentioned. It's nice, quiet, and comfortable if you're looking for a quiet getaway. Or it's a good jumping off point for exploring the region (Lake Almanor, Lassen Volcanic National Park, etc.) We didn't use the TV/DVDs - bring board/card games and teach the kids how to unplug and have fun. Stock up at the grocery store in Greenville or Chester and save money by utilizing the refrigerator/kitchen instead of eating out. Minor issue - the shower's on the smallish side (32" x 32" - the kind of shower stall you can buy at Home Depot) but large enough, and the earthquake last year knocked the shower door a little out of alignment. But still, a great value for the area!
