This was the perfect getaway place to meet our family for a long week end. It had plenty of room for 5 adults and one baby. The house is secluded as advertised. However, it is easy to get to stores and restaurants. It is less than 10 minutes from the interstate. However, I would urge you to arrive before dark the first time. It is a bit difficulty to find. The drive to it from the highway is a challenge the first time.

As for the house: The showers were powerful, the water was very soft. The beds were comfortable. As one reviewer mentioned, there is little sound insulation in a log cabin. I am not sure which bedroom would offer the most quiet. However, we had a 9 month old with us and when she was up, we all wanted to be up and with her!

The washer and dryer worked well. The garage was spacious. This would be very useful in the winter.

The kitchen….was absolutely a dream. All appliances worked as expected. The best part was an entire narrow stack of drawers were empty for our use. I rarely if ever find empty storage space in a rental kitchen. This was very appreciated. There is a Mr Coffee type pot and a Keurig. That is a great touch.

The internet worked well, even with 5 adults using it. The TV seemed to work as well as needed.

The fireplace is wonderful. There is a fire pit out back, but it was rainy the one night we had time to use it.

There is a fascinating cemetery behind the property. We really enjoyed exploring the old graves (and new). We even found the stone of the people who built the house.

There is no easy hiking that we found directly on the property. However, you can find that in a short drive.

Renting through Bruce makes it a really easy experience. We could not find a few things in the house. We e mailed him and had an answer immediately. I rented from him once before and his attention to our needs was outstanding.

This is my dream home! Spacious, secluded, just as described.

  • 5 of 5

This was my 5th year leading a group of friends on a weekend retreat upstate. We've stayed at several beautiful cabins, but this one was a stand out. The property is gorgeous, with a cascading creek and some neat geological features. The cabin was just what we were looking for. Wonderful gathering spaces, a well equipped kitchen, and a cozy feel. Would definitely stay here again.

A great house and location!

  • 5 of 5

This wonderful log cabin house is located in a great spot in between Woodstock and Saugerties making it the perfect spot to find something to do.

It's quiet, beautiful, and provided enough space for 6 adults and 2 children (and there's room for more). We fully enjoyed our time there and would recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet weekend getaway!

I own several VRBO myself. This property was fantastic. Everything advertised was delivered. Easy to get in the property, slept well and enjoyed the local food. I'm booking again.

Beautiful Log Home in the Catskills

  • 5 of 5

We rented the home for a weekend family Christmas! It was perfect! The home has all the amenities of home but still gave the feeling of a "country Christmas". We had a great time and took many pictures of family by the beautiful stone fireplace and on the unique staircase. The owner and broker were wonderful. Bruce kept in contact with me throughout the month, and even worked with me as my Dad was hospitalized during the week before. It was a great experience. I hope to be back during warmer weather so that I can enjoy more of the outdoors, especially the firepit!
