Really relaxing. Everything is really clean and well thought out. Mattresses on beds very comfy.
We will stay again without hesitation.
Comfortable and cozy
My wife and I recently rented the Boat House, Sue was very accommodating as our plans kept changing, as they will with babies waiting to be born. We didn't get in until very late as it was snowing and very cold. The house was warm when we got there and that was very nice. It is a very comfortable place to stay, with a wonderful view of the inlet. There is a boat launch very close, but being winter we didn't need it, just threw that in for those who might need it.
I do have a couple of suggestion that may help make it even better and more year round rental. Although the house was warm the main bedroom was a bit chilly and the heater didn't seem to warm it, we used the provided space heater which worked well. Maybe a ceiling fan in the main room would help distribute the warm air throughout the house, also the cool air in the summer. I read one review where the person loved the showered I however did not. It comes out too far from the wall to rinse off the soap. Maybe a hand held type would be easier. The Cottage appeared to be well stocked with necessary items, but we mainly used it as a place to sleep. Closest food shopping was in Lawton, which is very close. Neither of the suggestion would keep me from re-renting this cottage. I defiantly would love to rent it in the summer to take advantage of the lake, ice fishing or skating was all we could have done this trip. We will be back.
The cottage was perfect! It was warm, inviting, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The view was beautiful. My husband and I loved sitting on the porch while drinking our coffee in the morning. My family had a fantastic time playing the games there. Sue was pleasant and helpful when setting up my trip. We cannot wait to check it out in the Summer.
I really enjoy staying at the Boat House...as it was my second visit recently.
Quiet and cozy place after a long day at our current project in Paw Paw.
Beautiful and Peaceful Time at the Boat House
I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful place! although I was very busy the time during my stay, I would enjoy coming home and cooking. I was also able to fit 3 days of road cycling on the county roads beyond the lake and it provided a very different landscaping experience. I hope to come back...Thank you!
Great area to stay
We enjoyed our time at Gravel Lake. Lake was clean, well kept, and thankfully not full of partiers even Labor Day weekend. House was clean and comfortable. Furnished well with things we need. We caught a lot of small to medium fish right off the dock. Kayaks were fun but one is child size (would not fit an adult) for sure. There is barely anywhere to store groceries other than in the fridge (which had some leftover groceries from previous renters). Owner needs to clean out the kitchen cabinets, especially the chemicals and flammable items stored right above the stove. Since the property only sleeps 6, so many dishes are not needed. Otherwise everything was just as described. These are minor things that if known up front wont be an issue at all. Refund was returned after a week.
