Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
The home is very spacious and located two miles from the village and a tad closer to the SHARC. Great location, great that there are SHARC passes included. The hot tub was fun for the family as well. Kitchen is equipped with adequate equipment just be prepared to bring any olive oil, spices etc, as expected. The house was clean and spacious but unfortunately the beds were QUITE uncomfortable and two of the bicycles did not work so be prepared to rent bicycles. If the mattresses could be updated, this would be a perfect place. Decor is outdated but that's not as important to our family as it was clean and spacious but comfortable beds are a must.
Love the location and simplicity of the home. Second time stayed.
We spent a week at 5 Tan Oak in Sunriver, OR, arriving 26Apr16 and leaving 3May16. The house was an enormous, well-furnished, 3-level home on a large lot with a detached 2-car garage surrounded by pine trees. Altho there were other homes close by on adjacent lots I did not consider them imposing. The lower entrance level included a queen-sized bedroom with bath in the back, a 2nd bathroom off the hallway, a linen closet jammed full of towels, a utility room for the full-sized washer & dryer, a gas free-standing stove in it's own hearth, and in a cleverly shaded open area near the entrance a queen size bed plus a full bed utilizing CARGO furniture. Both baths are full and bedrooms have TVs. Taking the stairs to the 2nd level you come into a large, high-ceiling living room, cabin-like wood, stone fireplace, sky-lights, windows galore, with one door leading to the surrounding deck on 2 sides of the house, and another door to small private deck. Off a hallway is the 3rd full bathroom, then the full-sized kitchen with an adjacent dining room. Off the dining room is a sun-room with an exit to the deck and quick access to the hot tub and a grill. The kitchen is well-stocked with a wide variety of pots, pans, utensils, dishware, fridge, microwave, down-draft counter top range in the peninsula island, and dishwasher. Off the same hallway is a staircase to the very private, 3rd level queen-size bedroom (Note: this bedroom uses the bathroom in the hallway in the 2nd level hallway).
If you need to stock your refrigerator I highly recommend the IGA in the Village which is just a few minutes drive away. Note: the streets and many traffic circles may take getting use to. Check in at the Vistors Center for maps of the Village and Sunriver, and plenty of recommendations for places to go and things to do.
We ate at 3 different Village restaurants and would go back to any of them. The Mexican restaurant features a Classic Margarita that uses all fresh ingredients which I highly recommend and followed up with Camerones a la Diabla for dinner. The Village is a large (I guessed 20 acres or more) embedded in the middle of Sunriver (a 3,300 acre planned community which is adjacent to the Deschutes River) and includes all kinds of shops, stores, and equipment rentals, with the same wood-cladded exteriors.
We visited the High Desert Museum which turned out to be well-worth while, but never got around to visit the Cave which was recommended to us. There are also one or two golf links. Note: There is no gas station in the Village proper but you will encounter one as you leave highway 97 and enter the Sunriver property.
The only thing I missed regarding our stay here is that were were no views of the mountains from the home because Sunriver in general is a forest of pine-trees.
Enjoy your stay. We certainly did.
Overall, we had a good time at the house. My two boys loved the upstairs "loft" room. It was clean and the house had everything we needed, but many things were old or in need of replacement. Only one private bedroom. The other two you will be overheard if you have a conversation.
My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and 3 days of skiing, and the house met all our needs. The master bedroom with queen bed is on the lower level and includes a private bathroom. Another queen bed and a twin bed are also on the lower level, in an open area which included a TV and gas fireplace. There is a full bathroom off the adjacent hallway, and a full-size washer and dryer as well. The open arrangement worked out okay for us because my kids are little and we were all wiped out at the end of our ski days, but if you have teenagers or other adults, the open arrangement might not work. There is also a bedroom on the 3rd floor. The main floor was comfortable and roomy, with another TV and gas fireplace. The kitchen included everything we needed except for a pizza cutter; no big deal. Everything (including WiFi) worked and was plenty comfortable. We had a great time.
