About Patricia Hamilton

Hello and welcome!

We are Tava and Patricia Hamilton. Married since 1996, we share 3 beautiful children, their spouses and 4 fantastic grandchildren!

Moving from Central Texas in 2017; we were given the opportunity to purchase an incredible 1862 authentic German Homestead, which includes the first hand dug well in FBG, and the first Dairy Barn.

Attracted to the tranquil setting, beauty, history, and convenient access to town, we couldn’t refuse. On 7/7/17, we purchased the property!

Everyday we feel thankful to live here. It is truly a charmed life. We are thankful to be sharing our place with you, family, and friends. Welcome to our HOME!!

Patricia Hamilton purchased this barn in 2017

Great stay adding to wonderful family vacation memories

  • 5 of 5

The Dairy Barn is charmingly decorated, clean, and with comfortable bedding. Patricia was very quick to respond to any of my questions via emails and texts and was very friendly and helpful. Even though there is no hot breakfast served, the room was fully stocked with a cheese spread and crackers tray, muffins, water/juice, yogurt and string cheese, K-cup coffee and hot chocolate packets, among other snacks. The front porch was a nice place to cuddle up with a warm blanket to watch sunset and see our boys throw football/baseball in the acre of front yard. Close to the main street which is a plus. There were 2 other houses on the property with guests staying but we were neither disturbed nor disturbing others. The Ava Haus is highly recommended if you are looking for a quiet vacation in Fredericksburg.

Perfect place to enjoy your Fredericksburg experience.

  • 5 of 5

The decor and the location were perfect. Snacks, drinks etc were provided. Great view of the countryside and a full sized porch on which to enjoy it. The owners went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. Less than two miles from the heart of town. We will definitely return and truly feel that you won't find a better place to stay in Fredericksburg.

The Ava Haus Dairy Barn was beyond perfect! All 5 of us old college friends stayed in the barn together and by the end of our trip we all decided it was our favorite B & B stay yet!

Quaint and clean like the rest of town.

  • 5 of 5

My wife found the the decor adorable in the quaint barn situated up a hill a couple miles from town. It has a nice front porch for watching the sun setting over the Texas Hill Country. The property runs along Hwy 290, a few acres shared with Ava Haus, but we were not disturbed by other guests. The barn is one large room inside and we found it very clean, stocked with snacks, coffee and toiletries (thank you!). The property managers really seem to care and quickly responded to emails. Right on point for the price. We would happily recommend Dairy Barn.

Descent place

  • 3 of 5

First impression was wonderful. Walked in and found a nice bottle of wine, snacks, etc with an adorable looking inside (rustic and old). There were a few things that made it lose its luster...

1. Expired yogurt in fridge

2. Stickers in the rugs (wear shoes always)

3. Missing aerator on bathroom sink

4. Slippery step getting out of shower

5. Dirty AC vents

6. Rotted wood around bathroom sink

7. Mattresses were extremely soft (we sank)

8. Internet continuously slow (WiFi not strong)

Other than that, it was a descent stay. After paying $450+ for 2.5 days....seems there should be some upkeep so that the property is maintained.
