Our new favorite spot in the Catskills

  • 5 of 5

We fell in love with the house as soon as we walked in—it was a perfect winter getaway for the eight of us (Four adults and four small children). The house is clean, very spacious, and cleverly designed. The kitchen is well equipped with professional appliances, plenty of dishes, pots, pans and anything else we needed. The children were busy either in the basement play area or in the large living room, playing games or watching movies, while the adults were enjoying chatting over a glass of wine and appetizers in the wonderful kitchen/dining/minibar area. Each family had two spacious and comfortable bedrooms upstairs with plenty of pillows and warm blankets. The view of the pond was beautiful and we just can't wait to come back in the spring when we can enjoy the patios and the surrounding woods.

Awesome place and very cozy

  • 5 of 5

Thank you very much for letting us rent your home. My daughter was showing in The Hits Horse Show series in Saugerties. The drive was a quick 10 minutes away. Close to the food store and restaurants. The house was nice equipped for cooking and the deck overlooked a beautiful pond. We saw deer every morning and evening. The Cohen's where great to deal with and got right back to us if ever had questions. We already are booking for next year as soon as we get show dates. Highly recommend. Julie B.

Perfect weekend trip for a quite moment away.

  • 5 of 5

We could have easily stayed in the beautiful house all weekend, but the location was so great we actually did quite a bit more. Great for those looking for a half day skiing adventure at Hunter Mountain or those looking to explore Woodstock and Saugerties. Comfortably slept 8 of us with plenty of room to spread out. Surprisingly bigger in reality than in the photos. I'm looking forward to returning for the next trip!

My childhood home is now a vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

I am not reviewing my stay as a renter but as a former resident. My father built this house in his spare time from teaching at Saugerties High School. He raised 4 children in this house in the 70's and 80's. We used to heat the house with a woodstove that was inserted into the brick fireplace - which is now painted white! That was a surprise to see. The kitchen has been rearranged and looks nicely updated. The outside looks familiar except for the new deck. Very nice addition. The pond freezes so well in the winter that we would spend all day ice skating and sledding from the hill down onto the pond. There is a huge rock on the property that we would pretend was a big ship and we would sail everywhere on it. The yard was big enough that all the kids from the neighborhood would come over and play softball. We made maple syrup from the trees on the site. We even witnessed the pond turtles laying their eggs in the yard each year. Dad raised pigs, sheep, chickens, beagles, horses, and even a cow in the barn over the years. Not sure if it is even there any more. My brother and I even competed in horse shows when we were little ones. I hope who ever stays here realizes that this house was full of love when it was built and those good memories will hopefully be found by those that stay. PS The views from the second floor west side bedrooms of the mountains are amazing! And the peepers and bullfrogs sung regularly. Enjoy!

Friend and Family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a pleasure corresponding with Rachel and her property manager, Robin. There was a small problem with hot water but Robin responded immediately and it was solved. The house was even better than the pics and very spacious but still cozy. We hated leaving.
