About Owner / Property Manager
I grew up spending my summers in Northern Michigan. My wife Molly and I bought this home so our kids can experience the same. We hope by lending our home out to you as a guest you will be able to experience the same for your family and children.
Owner / Property Manager purchased this House in 2017
Why Owner / Property Manager chose Interlochen
There are so many reason I fell in love with this property. First of all, Bass Lake is a hidden Gem. This spring-fed, clean, clear sandy-bottom lake is what drew me in. The lake is peaceful and looks across at state land. To the south is approximately 30 acres of woods for that private feeling. Looking across the lake is acres of state land. The house sits just far enough from Traverse City that it enjoys a lack of light pollution, which allows for bright starry nights. However, being only 20 miles from Traverse City makes it convenient and easy to take a trip into town for nightlife, great restaurants, breweries and shopping.
What makes this House unique
The comments we get most is how awesome this property is for a family get together and for kids. The water level starts off shallow so it's perfect for little kids. The kids love the bunk room with the 4 bunk beds and parents love the fact that all the kids can sleep in the same room but with parents nearby. The property has a ton of updates that make it really comfortable. The home has newer roof, furnace, air-conditioner, stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is huge with a ton of counter space. The hand crafted dinning table seats 14 along with Island bar stool seating for 5 more. There is also 3 picnic tables

I planned a bachelorette party for my best friend in Traverse City and we stayed in this wonderful cabin! It had plenty of room for all 15 of us women and the property owner was very accommodating when we had questions about anything. He made sure to work with us and our schedule of checking in/out and supplied us with lots of information on the area/places to go see. Close enough to downtown, but far enough to get that cozy, tucked away feeling of being up north. Would definitely recommend a 10/10 to stay here! Thanks for the great experience!
Great hole for families or even groups
Loved the proximity to Crystal Mountain and Traverse City. We were there in the winter so no lake fun, but I’m sure that would be even better.
Highly recommend this place.
HUGE Lake House
This house is beautiful! Set on a serene, sparsely populated crystal clear lake just minutes from Interlochen Center for the Arts. We had 20 people sleep very comfortably for family weekend. The kitchen is well equipped, there are plenty of bathrooms, and a giant dining table for everyone to gather at once. The sandy beach was great for the kids and their sand Castles! I have rented lake homes for years and this one is my absolute favorite!
Fantastic property, massive space, well maintained
Our family gets together annually in Michigan and have 5 different families (Grandparents, children and then grand kids) we need to find space for. This location was perfect, and better than past years when we were spread out across 2 or 3 locations. The location is ideal in that we all fit in comfortably, and the accommodations in for the kids with bunk beds they loved. Massive kitchen to cook all meals in, and area outside to grill in the evening. Huge back yard that goes right up to significant water frontage. We took advantage for boating and quite a bit of fishing with the kids. Also a bonfire pit for fires and smores in the evening. We found the house in proper working order and clean. Also an ideal location to hit other Michigan activities in the area. Listing accurate, well maintained and we absolutely loved it, perfect for family vacations and everyone under one roof. We have already re-booked for next year!
Great location, Kid Friendly, Clean & Lg. Groups!
I cannot say enough about this place! My only regret is not bringing more people! We had 4 families, plus my parents (who stayed in the next door cabin on the property) and with the awesome bunk room we could have brought more people! The location is perfect if you want privacy and a place for your kids to play safely. It was secluded yet only 20 minutes (approx.) from Traverse City. The lake was clear and had a sandy bottom, which is hard to find. The larger home was clean (and I am picky) well equipped and equally well maintained. My parents stayed in the next door cabin and it had everything they needed (including a quiet nights sleep without all of our noisy kids) with a private kitchen, bath and living space. I do not write too many reviews but felt inclined to rave about this one. Thanks for the perfect vacation, we will be renting again for sure!
Great private lakefront property for big group!
We stayed here with 4 other families. It was perfect for our group. We had a lot of fun and the kids loved the bunk room so they could all be together. The private lakefront setting was so much fun. We rented a water trampoline and spent most of 2 full days just hanging out at the lake. Ending the day around the fire pit was a relaxing touch. House was clean and owner was great to work with. Very responsive. Would definitely recommend this property to others and our group is already talking about going back next year.
