Three bedroom, two bath home on a quiet residential street

Why Steven D. Harris chose McAllen
This property reflects the careful and exquisite touch of one of the Rio Grande Valley's top interior decorators. Every piece of furniture, fixture, wall and floor treatments and even colors of trim paint complement each other. Some guests have described our home as equivalent to a five-star resort. McAllen itself is a unique bicultural city, but due to the many U.S. and foreign assembly plants (maquiladoras) a few miles across the border in Reynosa, Mexico, it also caters to globally-based firms. The city has literally every kind of restaurant you can imagine. Our home is on a safe, quiet residential street in upscale North McAllen, close to excellent shopping and fine dining. And you're within easy driving distance of day trips to Mexico, South Padre Island, and other experiences to make your stay exciting and comfortable.
What makes this House unique
Our guests love this place because it has all the comforts of home, and entire families can stay together here, unlike hotels where family is often split up between different rooms. We have remodeled virtually the entire house, including both bathrooms that now have new fixtures and granite countertops. We also have remodeled the kitchen. In addition to new countertops and cabinets, we created a bistro/breakfast bar area so family and friends can gather in the kitchen for casual dining and relaxation. If dining-in is not your thing, we are literally a few minutes walk away from a great coffee shop, plus restaurants of every kind on nearby 10th Street. And even though we are right in the heart of the best McAllen has to offer, we live on a quiet residential street that ends in a cul-de-sac, so your relaxation time won't be disturbed. If you're like us, you'll find it hard to leave!

Excellent place close to walking trails
Renting was easy and communicating with the owner and property manager was quick and easy, as well as their friendliness and eagerness to help. Great experience!
Thanks for the feedback, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your return visit.
The property was well kept, in a good neighborhood, and assesible to everything.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only complaint was no televisions in the bedrooms. If I ever have to come back to McAllen, I hope to stay there again.
Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to a return visit.
Bigger than it looks
We had a great stay this weekend! The house is way larger than in the photos and is super nice! Had everything and I mean everything you need!
Thanks for your feedback, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you on your next visit to McAllen.
Wonderful house, great location
A really nice house, well equipped and very comfortable. In a super location on a quiet cul-de-sac, but close to a sprouts grocery store and a huge park. We'll be back!
Thanks for the positive feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to your next visit!
Went out there for a wedding and stayed for Thanksgiving. It was very clean and very spacious. I more than enjoyed my stay. I loved it and would definitely return.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you had a good visit, and hope to see you on your next visit to McAllen.
We had a great stay at this property in McAllen from July 5th-13th, 2018
Beautiful home, so warming and spacious, great Kitchen and had everything we needed. We are from Florida and visit our relatives in Texas every summer while on vacation. It was six of us, all family 1 brother and his wife and 4 sisters. We really enjoy our stay at your beautiful home. This was our first time renting on Home Away from Home website and I am so glad we did. My only suggestion would be to have a ceiling fan in the second bedroom for air circulation.
Thank you so much for a great stay at your beautiful home. Looking forward for next year vacation at this home if possible.
Gracie, and Rosa Martinez
Thanks for your feedback, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your suggestion concerning an additional ceiling fan. As with all the comments we receive from our guests, we appreciate yours and are constantly seeking to improve the guest experience.
Be sure to take in a mariachi mass at the San Juan Basilica. Other unique opportunities include getting custom-made boots in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, followed by lunch at Arturo's, where the second margarita is free. Or go to South Padre Island for shelling, swimming, fishing or sand castle building lessons. See tropical birds on their migratory path at Quinta Mazatlan. In the winter season, join Winter Texans in enjoying musical performances by entertainers that come south from Branson to take in the warm dry winter months. The musical scene also includes some very talented local musicians with a variety of styles from mariachi to bolero.
