Come stay! and play!!!! in Maui!!!!!
My first visit to Hawaii was in 1986. I knew I wanted to come back, and someday live there. As I raised my children, my thoughts were to raise them on Maui, knowing that the education about the world they would receive would be far more than just books.
As life would have it, that was not the case. I kept coming back, every trip I tool was better than the last. I knew I would return...and someday have a home.
Life continued to show up for me and I never gave up my dream. Although I am still living on the mainland, I finally bought this condo, and after 26 years, was that much closer to my dream. I live in California, so happy that I can see the ocean, knowing that my next trip to Maui, someday, will be one way.....
Lori Dunnell purchased this condo in 2012
I looked at properties on Maui for several years. I made one offer in 2006, and it was not accepted. I kept looking. Every time I was in Kihei, I would walk the length of south Kihei picking which complex I wanted to be in. I never realized Shores of Maui was a complex that was NOT fully owner occupied. It looked so unassuming, more like an apartment building than like the other condo complexes. After a week of looking in March of 2012, our last stop was Shores of Maui #202. I spent 30 minutes inside, 25 of them on the balcony. I knew. It took me until my plane landed back on the mainland to call and start the ball rolling to buy this unit. I never looked back and look forward to sharing my view with you!
This unit is lovely inside, however it's crown is the view. Whether it is raining, (less likely on the south side of the island) or the trades are blowing, (highly likely at some point of every given day) the view from this unit is spectacular. Any time of day or night, sun rise, sun set, moon rise, moon set. The high ceilings make the unit spacious, the sound of the waves, divine.
We are constantly making changes and upgrades. It only gets better and better. Come enjoy a paradise away from home.
2bd condo was very accommodating specially for a big group such as us (8 adults). The coolers came in handy. The supplies they left lasted for the duration of our stay. Plenty of towels and clean sheets. We had to rewash the plates, glasses and cutleries though since some have food stuck in them. Aside from that everything else exceeded our expectations. We definetely recommend this condo for a big family or a big group travelling together.
Everything about this property was perfect! This condo complex is in a great location, close to beautiful beaches, parks, restaurants, shopping. The view from condo 202 is the best in the whole complex. It was great to sit on the lanai and watch the paddle boarders and surfers. Also, the lanai was a perfect place to watch the sunset. We could also see over the pool/BBQ area as well. We used the pool/hot tub every night. One night we also used the BBQ area. Everything is well maintained and clean. We met a couple owners and they were very nice and helpful with advice on where to explore and eat.
The closet of beach gear was very helpful also. We'd go down to the beach with the boogie boards and coolers and chairs provided.
The interior of this condo was also impressive. Everything was clean and tidy and up to date. Everything you'll need is in the kitchen. We loved the tall ceilings with the nice ceiling fans, and all the furniture was very comfortable. There are plenty of bath towels, beach towels, and linens.
This condo is very spacious. We had two couples but there is room for four more people to stay with the two queen beds in each room.
Also, the owner is very easy to get ahold of and deal with.
We would definately recommend this condo to everyone that plans to take a trip to Kihei, and we can't wait to visit again.
This was by far the best vacation of our adult lives! The condo was everything we needed. The views are spectacular!!!! The place was clean and had everything we needed. When we come back, we will stay in the exact same condo. Shores is located in a great spot on South Kihei. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else!!! Mahalo!!!
The pictures do not do this place justice. This condo is much nicer and larger than what the pictures make it look like. I have stayed in Maui before at another place in South Kihei and this place is much better in all aspects.
My family and I were all extremely impressed with everything--- the amazing view (you won't understand this until you get there), the spacious bedrooms and living room, the fully stocked kitchen, linen closet, the pool downstairs, everything. It is walking distance to the beaches, restaurants (Paia seafood market!), Foodland (we would take a morning stroll to buy groceries, come back to make breakfast, then eat it while watching the ocean view). Our relatives who stayed at Maui Banyan stopped by and said this place was much better (and cheaper) than theirs.
Lori was also very easy to contact when we had questions. This place exceeded all of our expectations and to be honest, it sounded too good to be true at first, but we're glad we chose this place. We would certainly recommend this place to our family and friends, and would only stay here if possible on our next trip to Maui.
Book this one and trust me, you'll be very glad you did.
We stayed at this Shores of Maui condo from June 22-27, 2016. Everything about it is amazing--and foremost is the view out the front lanai. The condo overlooks the ocean. Every day we were entertained by watching the boaters, paddleboarders and other water worshippers enjoying themselves. Both bedrooms are well furnished with very comfortable beds. The attention to detail is wonderful--everything we needed was there--kitchen and laundry supplies, items for going to the beach, etc. Lori is an attentive host who does everything she can to make your stay unforgettable.
A quick trip to Costco after landing, filled our beautiful kitchen with all of the food that we needed for the 5 days spent in this beautiful condo! Location! BAR NONE, the best in Kihei! The whales had migrated already by the time we arrived, but the surfers, boarders and sailors were all present to watch with our morning coffee on the lanai. Yoga in the park directly in front of the condo was spectacular, and breath taking while in Sukhasana. We visited Kamaole and Makena Beaches... Makena is stunningly beautiful and worth the ride in the car to find... The Road to Hana is an adventure, and I would recommend a small car and some anti nausea. We were six women in a van... meeting other vehicles on the single lane turns was slightly unnerving. Lahaina is a must day trip... great little boutiques and shopping opportunities. Bubba Gump's was a delicious lunch choice for all. Pool area is excellent, with a library at its entrance, filled with books and magazines for your reading pleasure!
This condo is SO well equipped with all that you need in the kitchen, as well as all that you need to play in the water. The two rooms are at opposite ends of the condo with each, their own bathroom, making it a great location for a girls trip, or two separate families. I will most certainly be re-booking this condo, even if it is just for myself and my husband! You can not find a better location in Kihei!
WHALE WATCHING! Sit on the lanai and watch the whales swim and play from November-March. We watched whales breaching while eating breakfast at the kitchen table!
