Holiday Isle unit 103 is located on the main floor which is 14 feet above sea level; also on this floor is both pools, sauna, steam, whirlpool and access to beach boardwalk. This direct gulf view condo is a 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit which can sleep up to six. Interior furnishings include a four poster draped king bed in the master bedroom, a king bed in the second bedroom and queen sleeper in living area. There are flat screen HD televisions in both the master bedroom and living area each served by a HD box complete with a wide selection of HD channels including HD premium movie channels. Holiday Isle Condominium amenities include elevator access, lighted tennis court, fitness center, gated security entrance, heated indoor pool with hot tub, outdoor pool, covered garage parking, steam room, dry sauna, (2) outdoor electric grills for community use, private boardwalk to the beach. Unit amenities include wireless high speed internet access, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops in kitchen and baths, balcony access from living area & master bedroom, bubble tub in master bath with separate shower, washer & dryer, bed & bath linens provided. Smoking is prohibited both in the unit and public facility, however smoking is permitted on the private outdoor balcony. Parking for boats or small recreational vehicles is restricted and only available at the direction of the property manager. Please bear in mind this is a residential condominium complex, not a hotel and while I have my unit available for rent, many of the units are owner occupied. The complex is governed by a homeowners association who employs a full time property manager to oversee the property and enforce the rules for common areas which are clearly posted throughout the property; as a guest, it is incumbent upon you to follow the same rules. These include age restrictions and hours of operation for pools and gym. Also, please note that the common areas for entire property are non smoking.

Residents of Mobile (35 miles north of this property) allows us to personally oversee the property when it is not rented insuring it is kept in proper condition both in terms cleanliness (professionally performed post/pre every rental) but also completeness encompassing adequate towels in the baths, as somewhat of a cook myself adequate pots, pans, sheets, pizza bricks, measuring cups & spoons, scale and more than the 6-8 place settings of plates and flatware found in many rentals. We understand the rental of this condo is a vacation experience for most and we have attempted to provide a place that meets or exceeds guests expectations.

Why Jimmy Paulk chose Dauphin Island
For some 50 years I have grown up in Mobile and watched the coastal areas experience significant change after the devastation caused by hurricanes; through the years Dauphin Island has kept a small town charm and lifestyle setting it apart from the much heavier populated and commercialized beach front communities of Gulf Shores Eastward into the Florida Panhandle. Missing until 2007 was a first class commercial grade residential building providing amenities consistent with a structure of this size such as indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam, whirlpool, gated parking garage and units with tall ceilings, granite counters, etc. It truly makes for a great getaway without having to forgo any creature comforts afforded in modern resort developments.

What we have done with our unit is take a solid shell and made it a home with the furnishings and decorations. Our unit features extras including hardwood floors with rugs in the main living areas, glass tile backslashes in the kitchen, accent paint in kitchen and master bath and custom lighting additions. The condo was clean and well kept. The pools were warm and child friendly. Easy walk to the beech. A nice and relaxing family vacation.
The Condo was great
The condo was great! However the restaurants on Dauphin island were sub standard except for Islanders which was excellent. Captain Snapper's was dismal. The Lighthouse in Bayou La Batre was excellent too.
No traditional drug store on Dauphin Island and the grocery store had limited supplies.
The boardwalk did not go all the way to the beach so after rain we had to wade through knee high water to get to the beach.
Perfect weekend getaway
This is our second time staying here, once in 2016 for an adult trip and this time as a family trip with 3 kids, and both times we had a wonderful time.
Usually we wouldn't look for a place on the bottom floor, but you are far enough away from the pool that you won't hear anything at all, even when on the balcony/porch area. There is parking right outside of the front door which makes loading and unloading a breeze since you don't have to wait for an elevator.
There are several places to grab food within walking distance, the beach is clean and quiet, the pools (both indoor and outdoor) are large, there is plenty of space in the condo to not feel crowded, plenty if cookware, plates, and even a few supplies for washing clothes and dishes. (We especially appreciated the condiment container when we realized we didn't have any when we cooked hotdogs for lunch).
We are definitely looking at the calendar to see if we can squeeze in a week trip next summer with the family to Dauphin Island, I think we are all leaving in agreement that we like it more than Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach/ Perdido/ Pensacola - just as pretty but with a quieter beach!

We really had a great time in Dauphin Island! Fresh fish at every meal was not hard to take. The property was great and dealing with Jimmy,the owner,couldn't have been better. Didn't want to leave!
