GALICIAN FARM COTTAGE
This 350 year old farm cottage has been recently restored to offer you an attractive holiday home with comfortable accommodation for up to four people. The surrounding half acre of gardens and orchards with their scenic views makes a wonderful setting.
The cottage upstairs consists of two good sized bedrooms and a large bathroom. The bedrooms have been restored close to their original state and are now furnished comfortably with new full length beds, armchairs, dressing tables and ample wardrobe space. The beauty of ancient dark chestnut beams is set off by white painted ceiling and walls while the windows, set deep in mellowed stone recesses, allow you to stand and admire the colourful gardens and views of the countryside.
The large master bedroom overlooks the front garden with stunning views of the rolling hills of the Montes de Barbanza. The spacious second bedroom has beautiful views over the orchards to farmland and hills. The sounds of a stream flowing through the valley below and the scent of the lemon blossom right outside the window should soothe the senses.
The large bathroom caters to the 21st century being completely newly built and fully wall tiled. It has a bath with shower, toilet and bidet plus electric socket suitable for razors and hairdryers.
All bed linen, towels and soap are provided.
Downstairs are the living and kitchen areas. Much renovation has transformed the old living room into a comfortable, spacious eating and relaxing area, while a completely new, well equipped, tiled kitchen has been built at the end of a wide passage leading to the salon again retaining many of the previous features. The sink was set into an old stone doorway that used to connect with the stables, while another old doorway provided the stone frame for useful shelving. A 4 ring gas hob and an electric oven/grill gives lots of scope for cooking, while a microwave oven plus a toaster and Italian style coffee-maker make breakfasts easy to prepare. The refrigerator comes supplied with complimentary drinks to help you start the relaxation process.
Both hand and tea towels are supplied as well as dish washing liquid.
For over 300 years, the Salon was where the family lived and ate, cooking in the huge fireplace and its built-in stone oven. The smoke-blackened beams survive as a reminder of that era. These days, sofa and armchairs, DVD Player, a selection of English movies, and a flat screen TV (also with a number of English language programmes) make for a more comfortable holiday lifestyle. The dining table is conveniently placed close to the kitchen. But then why not eat out on the terrace and enjoy the scenic surrounds?
All crockery, tableware and glasses needed are provided.
And just in case you need some clothes laundered ... there is now an adjacent new laundry room with washing machine, ironing board and steam iron to meet your needs.
Unfortunately no pets are permitted and there is a strict No Smoking policy indoors
