Very well appointed property at the Ocean Bay resort. We liked the spacious accommodations, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The living area is quite comfortable and we loved it! Location is great! Ocean view is very enjoyable. If this place is available on our next visit, we will be back!
Our stay was a week after hurricane Matthew, so we weren't sure how long the condo had been closed up, so there was a little musty smell when we arrived. That was easily rectified by turning the air off and opening a few windows.
Great location & fabulous view of the ocean! However, the furnishing of the condo were a bit below our expectations. For examples: 1) The flat screen TV in the living room was a bit on the smallish side. 2) The TV in the master bedroom was not even a flat screen, but rather an old Sanyo model. In addition, the dresser in the master bedroom was literally falling apart. An interior support was no longer attached, so it fell down and did not allow the second level of drawers to be closed. (I took the drawers out to move the support back into place, however it is sure to fall again.) Also the bottom piece of the dresser was not flush with the unit, but pushed in on the right side. 3) Furniture in the living room was showing its age. Neither the couch nor chairs were comfortable. 4) Both of the bedroom windows facing the outside balcony had a cloth that was cobbled to the blinds in order to be held up because there was no curtain rod in either room. I cannot describe how tacky and bad this looked. 5) There was a covering for the floor-to-ceiling window next to the entrance way door. That covering desperately needs to be replaced as it has holes and is torn in various places. 6) The chairs & small tables on the balcony were of the plastic & stackable variety. Nothing wrong with them, just expected something a little better. Also there was no table on the balcony which would have been nice to have to enjoy a meal outside. (The photos show a table on the balcony, but it isn't there.) The above is only our opinion. It is based upon similar condos where my wife and I have stayed over the years. (In fact, I stayed in the condo right next door to this one in the prior year on a golf trip and had NO issues with it.) I feel bad to write what I feel are negatives about the condo, but others who rent this one should have fair warning.
Great location and fabulous view of the ocean & beach. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the furnishings within the condo. In our opinion, chairs and sofa in the living area were older, well worn, and not very comfortable for watching TV or reading. The flat screen TV in the living area was on the smallish side. The Master bedroom did not even have a flat screen TV, but made do with an old style Sanyo model. The dresser in the Master bedroom was structurally collapsing inside and out. A flat bottom piece underneath the top drawers was completely free of the supports and was sagging down to the second level of drawers rendering them unusable as they could not be closed. (I did move the flat piece back to its position, but it will fall again soon as it is not secured.) The bottom piece of the dresser was pushed in and not flush with the unit. What was supposed to be the curtains in both of the bedrooms facing the entrance was a sad joke. A long cloth was pinned or somehow fastened near the top of the individual windows. There was no curtain rod on either window, so this was evidently supposed to do. I cannot describe how bad this looked. The long window beside the entrance door also had a curtain than hung from the top to the floor. That material was torn, ripped and in dire need of being replaced. Balcony chairs and small tables appeared relatively new, but were of the plastic "stackable" kind. There was nothing particularly wrong with them, but other units we've stayed in over the years have had much more comfortable items, along with a usable table for eating on the balcony if so desired. Again, the conditions noted above are only our observations and opinions. However, we believe the furnishings of this particular unit are not on a par with other condos in which we have stayed over the years.
Nice location but the pool is not a real pool... it is only 3 feet deep and the photos are deceptive.
My family stayed here mid June. Even with it being prime vacation time, we never felt crowded on the beach. It is an excellent condo. The view from the 16th floor is awesome. There are 8 sturdy chairs so the whole family can sit out there at once. It is extremely clean. The kitchen is well stocked and all appliances work. There was never a long wait for elevators (2-4 minutes maximum). Restaurants and beach stores are within walking distance. Ocean Beach Rentals was extremely easy to work with. There is a small amusement park nearby that would entertain children.
