Beautiful 3BR/2BA Lodge Home in Redding, Lake Shasta - 5 Acres

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,850 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Located in the Bear Mountain area of Redding, this lodge-style, home is ideally located for your Lake Shasta area vacation. This is a wonderful location for a family vacation, a peaceful getaway, a fishing retreat or a trip to enjoy the natural beauty of the Shasta-Cascade area.

The main room has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Bear Mountain and the many oak trees on the five acre property. There is also a nice woodstove with plenty of firewood provided.

The property is 5 acres, mostly level, with rolling hills, perfect for children who like to explore. The house is located only a few miles from Jones Valley Resort on Lake Shasta, where you can launch your own boat or rent one of theirs.

We purchased this property recently so the furnishings and amenities are all new and contemporary. We have furnished one upstairs loft bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom downstairs with a queen bed and one bedroom with twin bunk beds and a full-size futon. Our goal is a nicely furnished and maintained house, where we feel comfortable enjoying it with our family and proud sharing it with you. Since we have children, we have taken extra steps along the way to ensure that it has conveniences that any family will appreciate.

Outside, there is a redwood deck, a landscaped seating area and a gas barbecue. If you are considering vacationing with a pet, we would be happy to discuss reasonable arrangements.

The house was originally built in 1988 and has had only one owner who has taken very good care of it. We plan on continuing this tradition.

We welcome any inquiries, suggestions or comments.

This home is fully equipped

  • 3 of 5

This home is set in a beautiful country setting. Several deer were out every day. Plus side of things: (1) it comes fully equipped with everything you need, dishwasher, washer/dryer, ice maker, linens, towels, seasonings, etc.. (2) the two bedrooms had comfortable beds; (3) plenty of bathroom space and nice bathrooms; Negatives: (1) the hot tub wasn't working; (2) the air conditioning was being controlled from an off-site location and we had to call to have the air put on; (3) the downstairs bedroom has the air conditioning unit right outside and so trying to sleep with that running was annoying. However, the owners were easy to work with, the house is nice, and we would stay here again.

Peaceful, relaxing, secluded, and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this home. It's close to Redding proper and to Lake Shasta, however, you feel like you are a 100 miles from civilization!

Beautiful property in a peaceful neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

I visited this property over a long weekend in a group of 7. The property is beautiful and set in a quiet and relaxing neighborhood. The house itself is well maintained. I also noticed a new barbecue grill in the back. We couldn't really use the grill because it was a 110 degrees outside while we were there. We were super glad that the air conditioning worked perfectly. The house is well stocked with plates, towels or anything that you would need.

We had a great time here and would certainly visit again!

This was a great place to get together with family

  • 4 of 5

It was a nice place to stay with family and everyone had a good time. So much wildlife to be seen and very quiet but not too far away from it all. Watch out for the tiny tree frogs near the back door so they are not harmed. As nice a time as we had I do feel I need to mention that people are to be forewarned that they are expected to clean entire house by way of taking off bedding and washing/drying/folding all sheets used, and dishes cleaned (understandable). But to also vacuum and sweep house (upstairs/downstairs) with a vacuum that did not work well was quite a chore. All this took up the whole last day. To make matters worse the house cleaner came at 10am and said that we were to be out while we were still cleaning. Our contract stated that we were to be out by 11am. But he was nice and we just had him clean around us. Also the hot tub didn't seem to be working properly for us but my fault for not letting them know while I was there. It did start right up when I told housecleaner about it. I did try to contact owner three times since we left (including when he instructed us to call him when we left), however I have not heard back from them and when I called the phone was constantly busy on two different days. I have written twice since Aug 11 regarding status of our $500.00 refundable deposit and have not heard back yet. If owners are reading this, please contact me regarding this matter. We stayed at your property ID #46495 Aug 4-8, 2017. Thank you.

Property is a little run down and needs some work. BBQ needs replacing, chipped plates noisy hot tub

  • 3 of 5

Very quiet location, but very hot and dry. Nearest store is 15-20 mins drive. Property needs some repairs and updates. BBQ is rusted out inside, mattress needs replacing, hot tub is very noisy. Kitchen needs a lot of new plates etc on the plus side the property has deer in residence and the AC works well. The guest book says guests need to launder all bedding and towels before leaving, which was a first for us.

Poor cleanliness

  • 1 of 5

The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, the fridge was very dirty with old food and hair in it. All kitchen cabinets were unorganized, dirty and random/limited assortment of plates, utensils and glasses. There were even sheets in kitchen cabinets?? Linens we're old and mismatched. We loved the location and the size of the home was perfect for our two families! We just wished it was better taken care of so we would consider returning again...
