Asheville Area Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom (Sleeps 4-6) With Mountain Views/WiFi

The simple pleasures in life often relate to nature. Imagine a clear, starry night in the hot tub or the sound of rain on the metal roof while snuggled on the couch in front of the fire. Birds chirping in the morning, wild turkeys crossing the property and an owl hooting as the sun sets over the ridge. Our 5 acres of land provide the perfect peaceful retreat in the mountains. Whether you're looking for a quiet romantic weekend for two or a fun-filled vacation for the family, our recently built cabin will not let you down.

Long distance views from both the main deck and private hot tub deck will ensure a relaxing, back-to-nature stay. You can forget the cell phones and computers for a true break from the real world if desired...but full cell signal with all known carriers and WiFi allow for reality checks as needed.

With all modern amenities, one won't need to leave the cabin, but the surrounding area has so much to offer to the adventurous at heart. Conveniently located less than 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, 12 mintues from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 minutes from the Biltmore Estate and Black Mountain, 30 minutes from Chimney Rock/Lake Lure and Hendersonville, this quiet getaway is still close to all the attractions and activities.

Why Lisa chose Asheville Area

We absolutely love the Asheville area - the mountains, endless outdoor activities and 4 distinct seasons allow us to appreciate and fully enjoy nature year-round. When we met as teenagers, we dreamed of one day building our own mountain escape (with a fabulous view, of course).

We were involved with every aspect of the building process; from the beginning stages of staking out the property lines and house site in the snow to personally delivering almost every nail, bolt and load of lumber. Our hearts and souls were poured into this cabin while attempting to balance our full-time jobs, lives and every detail of the project...but every minute was worth it, without a doubt.

What makes this cabin unique

With the cabin facing South, year-round natural light invites guests to gather in the living area and relax on the decks.

As is the case in much of Asheville, the roads around our cabin tend to be steeper than what many people are used to. Our driveway is steep and narrow in sections (about 300 yards from the bottom to top). Access is not a problem, however, and we both own small 2wd vehicles that do just fine around Asheville and our cabin. We also have stairs leading from the driveway to the cabin door, which, for those with mobility issues, may pose a problem.

The cabin is located within a private community, in which Rules and Regulations apply to residents and visitors. This makes for a truly quiet and relaxing stay in the mountains. Please note that noise, privacy, parking and other rules must be respected throughout the private community.

Great girls getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing time at Lazy Bear Cabin for a girls getaway weekend in Asheville. We slept six comfortably (brought an air mattress). The cabin is in pristine condition, clean, updated, spacious and has the most amazing view off the deck. It was also well equipped with the kitchen and bath basics. The welcome bottle of wine was a special treat and great to be able to crack something open and enjoy right away. The hot tub was a huge selling factor for us and we thoroughly enjoyed soaking our muscles after long days running trails in the nearby Pisgah National Forest and exploring downtown Asheville. The cabin has a nice location, peaceful and tucked away in the hills. Grocery store located less than 10min away. Downtown Asheville was a quick 20 minute drive and we easily navigated to many surrounding area attractions within an hour.

Booking the cabin was simply and Lisa provided great communication, with quick replies to any questions as well as texting on check in day to be sure everything about our arrival was smooth. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone and we absolutely loved our time in Asheville and only wish we'd had an extra day to just relax at Lazy Bear Cabin.

Oh and the DRIVEWAY! That was a treat! Definitely a little white knuckle the first couple times up/down it but by the end of the trip we got the hang of it. Listing says there is parking for two cars...but we turned our van around at the top each and every time. There was NO WAY I'd attempt to back down that driveway. So in my opinion there is only room for one vehicle.

Thank you for sharing this special place with us!

Beautiful cabin, Beautiful setting!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for renting us your cabin! It was beautiful, clean, and the views from the balcony were gorgeous!

This cabin is a special place, surrounded by mountains, nature, and solitude- yet there is a large grocery store and CVS conveiniently located nearby for essentials.

Not recommended if you are on crutches unless you enjoy a challenge! (There are many steps/stairs to get in)

We Loved Our Stay.

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is in a great location to either stay in and relax or if you want to run around NC and do the tourist things like we did. The view from the porch is dreamy. I woke up every morning to enjoy my hot chocolate and watch the sun rise out on the porch, we even ate breakfast out on the picnic table some mornings. If we ever go back to Fairview we will most differently stay in Lisa's cabin again. She was very helpful whenever we needed her and a pleasure to talk too.

Mountain View Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin in Fairview for a few days in February. All I can say is WOW. Nice and new and fresh and clean. Everything included for a very comfortable stay. Only thing I would mention is, the driveway is a killer, as well as the 40 steps up to the cabin. Buttttt, you have to have that to enjoy the marvelous view. We certainly would stay there again when we visit Asheville.

Beautiful views and relaxing cabin

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here with another couple for 4 nights over New Year's. The cabin itself is stunning - new build in that prototypical mountain cabin feel. The owners seem to have thought of everything in terms of kitchen supplies and low-tech cabin entertainment (puzzles, etc). The views from both deck levels are astounding and relaxing. When we weren't enjoying the views and seclusion, we were seeing the Biltmore and what downtown Asheville has to offer.

A word of caution, ESPECIALLY if you plan on coming in the winter months: the mountain and driveway are exceptionally steep and often narrow. I know that is written in other reviews and in the description, but all four of us seemed to be shocked each time we would return for the night. A 4WD/AWD vehicle is a good idea. On a related note, it would be a good idea, when coming to the cabin for the first time, to make sure to come during daylight.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed your stay! While some of our guests do have vehicles with 4WD, most come to our cabin in a 2WD car. We also own 2WD vehicles, as well as most of our family and friends that often visit with us. We've always been just fine. For those not used to navigating mountain roads, we can understand how the roads around Asheville and our driveway can be a little out of the ordinary. :)

Clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with our stay. Everything was clean and well-stocked. The stairs were definitely a challenge, but we preferred to stay in most of the time anyway. I wish the hot tub weren't so far away too; we probably would have used it more often if we didn't have to make such a long journey to get there. :) We drove up and down the roads looking at the view and determined that the view from the porch of our cabin was pretty much the best view you could get anywhere on the mountain! We would definitely consider staying here again.

The Asheville area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. So much to see and do: cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, hike the Appalachian trail, mountain bike in Pisgah National Forest, tube or kayak the French Broad or other numerous rivers, climb Chimney Rock (or ride the elevator to the top), swim and paddle Lake Lure, fish, hunt, or bird-watch. The outdoor activities are endless.

Asheville is also well-known for the locals' love of art, antiques, good beer and fine cuisine. With a multitude of art galleries, micro breweries and wide array of restaurants, Biltmore Estate and the Blue Ridge Parkway are only the beginning of a true Asheville experience.
