Pine Bush House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, large rooms, 2,000 sq ft, no pets, no smoking

This is a very clean 2 story colonial set back off the street for lots of privacy. We do have neighbors on both sides, but not close enough to look in the windows.

One reason that it is so clean is we do not wear shoes in the house or allow pets in the house or on the property. We request you wear house shoes or slippers in the home and smoking is not alowed on the property, NOT EVEN IN YOUR PARKED CAR! This way others with alergies or chemicial sensitivities will be comfortable in our home.

When you walk in our door you will come in to a large entry with a 1/2 bath, in front of you is the huge kitchen, on your left there is the oversized dining room with 5 windows and comfortable living room with a wood burning stove and 55' Smart TV. Upstairs you will find a small bedroom with a double bed on the right side of the hall. On the left side of the hall there is a large bedeoom with 3 twin beds and 3 windows to let in the morning sun and warmth. The washer and dryer are also off the upstairs hall, so there is no need to carry your dirty cloths downstairs. Across from the laundry is the linen closet with a iron and a small ironing board. At the end of the spacious hall is the square master bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, queen bed, 4 windows and 2 large dressers. The master bathroom has a vaulted ceiling, skylight, shower, 2 person jetted tub, 2 sinks, walk in closet and a toilet in it's own little room for added privacy.

There are a total of 5 beds that can accommodate 7 people and we can provide air mattresses for the other 5 guests if they are needed.

Outside there are lots of trees, wildlife and 2 in ground fire pits, a small round one & a large oval pit that has been used for luau style cooking. On the back deck there are 2 chairs and a large 4 burner grill. Natural landscaping means the native anmials feel right at home in our yard.

Our family has loved this home for about 5 years and we are sure you will fall in love with it also.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Hudson Valley

What makes this house unique

Quiet setting in the middle of nowhere but 15 min from the center of Pine Bush, NY. Each room is large and spacious. The driveway sloped down to the road so it is almost impossible to get snowed in. Beautiful location / property exceptionally clean

  • 5 of 5

We were VERY HAPPY with the conditions of this house. 2 full baths with a 1/2 bath (downstairs) was plenty for our 3 adults and 4 children. We found the kitchen well stocked with the basic seasonings and plenty of pot/pans and a grocery store 15 minutes away. We were very thankful to have plenty of hot water for all of us to take hot showers in a row. Our trip consisted of traveling to Patterson New York (45 minutes) Wallkill NY (12 minutes) and Manhattan 2 hrs. The Catskills are beautiful. We even saw a bear!! I would recommend this house to any family or group.

Owner's Response: I don't know what else to say. Our guests keep saying the same things, the house is clean, there is plenty of nature and hot water. Yes it is all true.

Bravo to great owners!

We arrived after a long drive to this beautiful, clean home. Everything was exactly as described on the website. We cooked several meals and had everything we need, even enough spices to make an impromptu salad dressing! The house is clean. Completely uncluttered. Any time I had to ask Bryon or Jeff a question, they responded if not immediately, within an hour or so. There were plenty of linens and the beds were so comfortable! The sheets were a high quality too! The owners have thought of every possible thing you may need to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening. We loved watching the squirrels and the rabbits. We traveled to Wallkill (right down the road) and Patterson. We drove into the city for a Met tour. Bryon was so helpful to this country girl, helping navigate the most relaxing way into the city. We went to Sam's Point and hiked to the ice caves. My husband wandered around in the woods behind the house too. It was nice there were local caretakers that never seemed inconvenienced when asked questions. All in all, it was a perfect vacation and we look forward to staying here again.

Owner's Response: Before this guest arrived they said they want any suggestions on a relaxing way to the City. The city is stressful enough they wanted to enjoy the ride, so I gave them my 2 cents worth. We have added the 2 optional scenic routes for driving in to NYC on the vrbo app. They are under the transportation icon, along with train info in to Grand Central Station. We are surprised at how many guests still drive across the country to get to NY, and we are glad our house can be the refreshing oasis at the end of thier trip. Please let us know what your plans are so we can add any helpful info to the new vrbo app, for your access and for others also. There is a folder on the kitchen wall with local suggestions if you have an open schedule.

Beautiful location and a beautiful home. Private and peaceful - perfect for our stay in Pine Bush.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Pine Bush at this lovely, very cleanly kept home. It was just what we wanted and needed to be comfortable while we were in the area visiting family and friends. The home was supplied with everything we needed (linens, bedding, extra air mattresses, kitchen utensils/cookware). All the appliances worked exceptionally well and the window a/c units worked just fine in cooling us down on the few extremely hot days we had while we were there. We were impressed and will look to stay here again in the future. If we were to make any suggestions it would be that the owner/caretakers provide guidance for if/when the power goes out (which it happened to do 2 times while we were there- but the outages were due to local area outages and were short term). We had mini flashlights with us, but it would have been nicer if there was one at the house - possibly a larger flashlight or lantern of some sort to have on hand if need be.

Owner's Response: We have large lanterns for emergency use only. We had them available for use at all times but guests were taking them outside and draining the batteries then they were not available if they were actually needed. In the past 3 years the power only went out 2 times for more than 4 hours, so we decided to take the lanterns out instead of monthly changing the batteries. If the power goes out for more than a few hours the caretaker that lives across the street will bring up the lanterns. In the future we will have a locked storage box so guests can access the items they need in the rare case of emergency. The caretaker also has access to emergency water for drinking and flushing the toilets if it is ever needed.

Very clean home. Surroundings peaceful and quiet. The home had everything we needed for our stay.

Nice, cozy, and peaceful. Great home for a family vacation. Our entire family enjoyed our stay. One of the most important features of a vacation is the cleanness of where we vacation. This home is very clean. We got a chance to experience the beautiful country side of NY, then went into the city and enjoyed the city of NY as well. The perfect combination for a vacation!

Owner's Response: We have found that by having an uncluttered home it makes it easier for the cleaners to do thier job after a guest leaves. It also makes it easier for us to do a through cleaning every few months. We notice that when we have a clean house our guests tend to leave it clean, everyone wins.

Beautiful House but Communication Needs Improvement

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful and my family and I had a very nice stay. I would have liked air conditioning in the living room and dining room as the only downstairs air conditioner was in the kitchen and I didn't feel it was sufficient to cool off the whole downstairs. The only real problem we had was with communication. The owner neglected to tell us that the code for entering the house was in the VRBO app which I didn't download because I don't use VRBO very often. When we got there we couldn't get in and couldn't reach anyone for help. We finally got in with the help of VRBO. The owner was very apologetic and even offered us an extra day to stay. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Owner's Response: I have made sure that what has happened to this guest will not happen again. This is the first time a guest has had a problem with getting in to the house. In trying to utilize technology VRBO is on the way to making things easier, however like this guest, not everyone likes to use apps. In addition VRBO informs me when a guest gets thier welcome letter. I now see that VRBO has no way of knowing if the guest actually opened the letter. The letter provides the information to unlock the door. So we are now doing what we did prior to this wonderful app, that is sending each guest the access information about 2 weeks before thier arrival. The app is still the best way to access all the features of your trip, but at least no one will be waiting for help to open the door when they arrive for the first time. About the air conditioning, this year has been incredibly hot. There are some safety issues that prevent us from having a window AC unit in the living room. If next year starts off as hot as this year we will concider a way to cool down the living room and dining room.

Great property!

We once again had a great time at this property. Nice big rooms, fully stocked kitchen, large dining room and living room with TV. We also used the barbecue grill outside. Everything you would need to get away. Will come back again!

Ice Caves are about 20 min down the road and they happen to be one of the most exciting and accessible hiking destinations in New York known as the Ice Caves in Sam’s Point Preserve, which are, thankfully, meticulously guarded by the Nature Conservancy. Containing ice caves in the depths of its crevasses, this is the greatest open fault in the United States (known geologically as the Ellenville Fault.) The strange environment consisting of globally-rare, ridge-top dwarf pines, huckleberry and blueberry fields, beautiful flowers, deep crevasses and phenomenal views seems to transport the hiker to places more arid than lush New York… perhaps the craggy, dry southwest. The 5,400 acre preserve is located atop the world-class rock climbing Shawangunk (the “Gunks”) range, which is close to the wonderful college town of New Paltz, where you can find lots of good restaurants, shopping and lodging.
