I am a 38 year old event/party planner. After living in Las Vegas for 13 years, I grew homesick for my hometown. My husband and I bought a small fixer upper that we live in, and I always wanted to fix up the 2 houses next to us. The opportunity came and we jumped at the chance to transform 2 very beat down houses into elegant country suites. We are so excited to begin renting them and hope you will come visit when you are in the area.
Amanda Bench purchased this house in 2011
I just love it's small town qualities and homey feel of Newcastle! It is at the foot of the Black Hills and is just the perfect distance from all the amazing attractions. Hiking, biking, camping, lakes, rivers, you name it, it's here!
I always had a vision of remodeling them and my dream came true! They are just the perfect luxury place for your vacation getaway.
Amanda, Amazing!!! Thanks for saving our Newcastle weekend. We had a wedding so all of our family was coming. Thanks to your 2 houses we could all stay together. The special touches were great!! Every other wedding guest was jealous of our high life living!
My family stayed here for our reunion, and had a wonderful stay. We used both suites and had plenty of room for everyone. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and our host was so friendly and accommodating. It was a short drive to Mount Rushmore and other sites in the area, and it was great to have such a nice place relax in at the end of a tourist day. It's very convenient to be able to cook our own meals when we wanted to. There was also a BBQ grill, hot tub, and fire pit that allowed us to have some quiet private nights without having to go out. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.
My family and my husband's parents stayed here for a week. Half of our group was hunting in the area, and the other half of us were sightseeing at Jewel Cave National Monument, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, etc. After a long day, it was a relief to return to the rental house for a home cooked meal. The beds were comfortable. My son was able to do his homework easily in the office downstairs. Amanda has done a lovely job decorating and outfitting the property; there were TVs, fireplaces, WiFi, lots of fluffy towels and toiletries in the bathrooms, and complimentary goodies. The best part was how exceptionally clean the place was. Every corner, nook, and cranny was spic and span.
This was an amazing property. I had been to Newcastle before and stayed at another location which was nice, but this place was AWESOME!!! Amanda was very helpful from the start. I had to change my dates as well and she was very accommodating. The grill and fire pit were great. There was everything you could possibly think of for toiletries all the way to mouthwash. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The overall atmosphere was great. I will stay here again if I ever come back through Newcastle.
What a surprise to find this place to stay in a small rural town. This is my second visit to the area for work and so glad a local suggested this to me. Amanda was very helpful and accomodating to my last minute needs. Work travel keeps me away from home a lot and I can honestly say this was the most relaxing week I've ever spent away from home EVER. All the personal touches did not go unnoticed and were very much appreciated. Excellent wifi coverage allowed me to access my laptop while sitting on the deck to relax after a long day of working. There are two houses and I stayed in the back one which has the one bedroom as that's all I needed. I truly did not feel like I was staying away from home since I could go grocery shop and do my own cooking. Would definitely come back for a visit with my family!
Friend and I stayed here 4 nights on a hunting trip. Great place, sure beats the hotels. Even a grill on the back porch. WIFI and Amanda's cookies were great too.
