This 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment (sleeping 4-6, but 5 adults max) will be your home sweet home-base during your stay. ~~ About the Apartment ~~

Up the elevator to the 15th floor, down the hall, and walk in to your Seattle abode and relax. Everything you need is here to enjoy your stay in over 1000 square feet. Of course, free WiFi is included!

Living Room ~ The living room features a comfortable extra long sofa and is tastefully decorated in accent shades of blue/green. There is plenty of seating with 2 leather chairs as well. The high ceilings make it feel even more spacious along with the huge windows letting in tons of light. You won't miss the tremendous city or water views from every window. Check out the Seattle Great Wheel right from the unit! There is a 46 inch flat screen, stereo, and DVD player if you want to stay in for a night. Plenty of room for our queen sized Aerobed if you need extra sleeping space.

Kitchen/Dining ~ Right off the living room is the kitchen and dining, giving it the great room feel. The newly remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and features a breakfast bar with two stools. The clean white cabinets are set off by the jet black granite counter tops. The stainless appliances include a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and oven/stove. Between the kitchen and living area is the dining area for six. And don't forget to check out the city and water views from the kitchen window!

Balcony & Views ~ Watch the ferries coming and going from your private balcony . To the east, enjoy the city views. To the west, see the waters of Elliott Bay, and to the south, check out the stadiums.

Master Bedroom & Bath ~ A huge room, large enough for a comfortable king-sized bed, you will love the private bedroom. A dresser for all your things, not to mention a large closet! Luxurious bedding in a neutral palette only adds to the beautiful contemporary decor in this room. And don't forget the 37 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. Past the closets, you'll find your private bath, complete with tub/shower and plenty of counter and cabinet space. It is also remodeled with granite counter tops and includes towels, soaps, shampoo and a wall-mount hairdryer.

Second Bedroom ~ Opposite side of the unit from the master bedroom for plenty of privacy is the 2nd bedroom featuring a queen bed and nightstands and a walk-in closet with dresser. The second full bath is just outside this bedroom as well.

Main Bathroom ~ Also spacious is the full bath with tub/shower, which is also remodeled with granite counter tops. The blue/green tones are carried throughout the apartment, including the lovely bathroom. Plush towels and even soaps, shampoo, and conditioner are supplied as well as a second hair dryer.

Not what I expected

We had a fairly disappointing stay in this condo. First off, I made the booking late, which was a huge mistake. The very afternoon that booked it, I fell and broke my ankle. Our trip was just 10 days away. I had stupidly forgone the trip insurance (live and learn). We immediately contacted the property owner to see if we could reschedule for different dates. While she attempted to re-rent it (which was not happening in the short time frame), we basically had to use the dates or lose the money. So, being the stoic, tough broad that I am, decided to come any way, with boot and scooter, as I was unable to bear weight on my foot.

So this is what we arrived to: 1. The front desk had a sign saying "back in a few". Waited for almost 20-25 min for someone to show. 2. Apt is VERY small, pictures exaggerate the size. 3. View is misleading. Apt is on the east side and you can only see the waterfront if you crane your neck from the balcony. In general, you are looking at downtown and a freeway. 3. Remote was busted - normally, I wouldn't even dignify a review with this tidbit. I mean, who watches TV on vacation? However, having aforementioned broken ankle, I was hobbled up. Seattle was NOT an easy city to visit on a knee scooter (think hills and uneven side walks). I would let the family go explore and stay in the apartment watching Olympics. The remote would have been nice. 4. The apartment was very hot, no AC. Fans provided but windows had to be open, which made it very loud. Do NOT stay here in warm weather. Overall, the location is good. The apts have a lot of students. The elevator was filled with trash the day we checked out. I could go on and on. There are many cool places to stay in Seattle. This is not one of them. Also, I have never had someone be so completely un-sympathetic or understanding about an injury. I think she thought I was making it up to get out of our reservation or something.

On a bright note, if you do stay at Harborside, there are some great places to eat around there.

Owner's Response: It is very unfortunate that this guest broke her leg after booking (of course, we believed her!). To clarify, she did not contact us the same day she booked (had she, we would have refunded her trip in full). She waited several days until the trip was just a week away. We took it off the calendar immediately, and while we do get a good deal of last minute bookings, her dates did not re-book. We half anticipated she may take it out on us in a review, and I'm sad to see that this has happened. I would please encourage anyone reading this to browse all our other (over 1000) reviews for our Seattle properties. We have over 120 reviews for this unit and the one directly below this unit (same floor plan, size and views). It is VRBO 437728. We have many comments from people saying the units are exactly as (or better than) described and pictured. We even have the square footage (1020 sq ft) listed on our VRBO listing. I truly have no idea what she is referring to for most of the comments. We are there all the time (and our housekeeping is team is there almost every day) and the elevators are NOT filled with trash. There is no AC (and we don't advertise AC), and luckily the average high temp in Seattle in July and Aug is just 76 deg. We do provide fans. In the middle of the day at check-in, there is no possible way the front desk would empty for more than 5 or 10 min at the most (usually there are two employees there on duty). There are not a lot of students living there since this is one of the higher rent options in Seattle. Plus, there are no major universities downtown Seattle. We would have happily replaced the remote (or batteries) had she let us know. We could go on and on defending every single comment, but again, please read our reviews and contact us with questions. The things said in this review are not a theme of all our reviews (which we do not control), so take it all in. We are sorry she had a bad experience and wish she had not broken her leg. Thank you! Great location!

Great location with a unique view. Check in and out was extremely convenient. The apartment did get hot since it did not have AC, but that was easily solved by opening the widows and using the fans.

Perfect location for visiting Seattle for first time with teenagers.

We could not have been more pleased with our Harbor Steps apartment. It was a fabulous location, minutes away from Pike Place Market and more good food and drink that a person can sample in a week! The check in/out process was well explained and very easy. The staff at the front desk are very friendly. Our apartment was very clean and well supplied with everything we needed. I was traveling with 3 young adult/teenaged kids and my husband and we were all very comfy. The kids loved being able to go explore the city on their own and not rely on us for transportation. We walked to all the best attractions, Pike Place, waterfront, Chihuly Glass Museum, EMP museum, Space Needle, fantastic restaurants. The only thing that anyone could possible complain about is the city noise. The windows in this apartment have awesome views of the waterfront but with that comes traffic noise. It did not bother us at all but if you are a light sleeper it may cause a bit of bother. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this apartment to any friend or family looking for the perfect spot in Seattle.

Great place in the heart of the city!!!!

The place was very nice, clean and well appointed.

Very Clean, beds were comfortable.

Location was fantastic, close to Pike and the water.

The weather was fantastic for our stay so we had the doors and windows open all the time, the only downside is that there is a lot traffic noise BUT the place is in the city so not much can be done about that.

Debra was very helpful as was the front desk staff.

We would definitely stay again.!
