About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, sleeps 4

Discover Paradise - Roatan's crystal-clear, warm waters and brilliant coral reef welcome divers and snorkelers. The coral reef, directly in front of our 360-foot pier, is an easy swim.

Located in the secure tropical garden setting of the Sundancer community, our condo has a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen with its granite counter and undermount sink, has everything you will need to prepare a gourmet island dinner; the living room has comfortable rattan furniture and a flatscreen TV; the spacious screened veranada with its large ceiling fan is perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining away from any bugs. Two bedrooms each equipped with double beds and new ultra-quiet air conditioners.

The condo is only steps to the pool and even closer to the beach. Greet the morning sun on the screened veranda with a strong Honduran coffee. Later in the day, join your neighbors on the pier for sunset cocktails on the upper deck.

Sandy Bay is well located between the amenities of Coxen Hole (airport, supermarkets, fresh seafood, handicrafts, and open air markets), West End with its fun night life along with many restaurants and bars and West Bay Beach – one of the ten best beaches in the Caribbean.

There is a local bar/restaurant and dive shop, Blue Island Divers, just down the beach! Our staff of local islanders will pick you up at the airport upon arrival to Roatan, answer any questions you may have, and return you to the airport for your departure. This condo has 24/7 security.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Staying at Judy's place was THE decision that made our stay in Roatan so memorable. First, the owner's a sweetheart! We could tell she truly wanted us to have an amazing time on the island. Her accomodation is clean, spacious, breezy (didn't use the A/C once!) and stocked with all these little things you need but wouldn't necessarily think to ask about before renting. While peaceful and tucked away in a "jungly" setting, the Sundancer community is also very close to all the beauty and buzz of the west end/ west bay area and the convenience of grocery stores nearby. The community dock is an outstanding bonus as it allows for relaxing in the sun "no-bugs-style" and the snorkeling is just brilliant. Rays, turtles, pufferfish, barracudas, giant starfish... underwater museum for free, anyone!? ;) After chatting with others residing in nearby cabanas (not owned by the lovely Judy!) we quickly realised we had it all! Hot water in all sinks (no shortage), drinking water, no extra electricity fees, gas stove, washer-dryer, screened porch, safe, cell phone, ceiling fans in every room... Her friend Ron who picked us up from the airport was also very nice! He helped us out with configuring the phone, internet, our car rental... and would have been more than willing to help us with finding deals and spots for various excursions had we chosen to do so. I honestly do not have one bad thing to say about this VRBO, and I would recommend it to my friends and family any day. Big thanks to Judy; we'd chose your accomodation again, no hesitation! :)

When we arrived we were picked up at the airport and taken to the grocery store. We bought for breakfast & lunch and spent about $125. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed to prepare breakfast & lunch. It also had some spices for seasoning available. When we arrived we were greeted by Erica who gave us a walk through of the house. It's a short walk to the water and the private dock where you can snorkel from. You can swim to the reef just make sure you can be seen by boats who also use the space to get to the dive spots. Blue Island Divers is 2 doors down and have an excellent operation with dive masters Ernesto, Laura and Yago (he was headed back to Spain so I'm not sure he will be there). This is where we spent our days. We could walk back to the house for lunch. Initially at night we took taxis and it ran $2 per person each way into West End. We rented our own car on Tuesday which I highly recommend. We no longer had to wait at the road or haggle over fares. We took a drive down the island to French Harbour and Jonesville. Absolutely beautiful and shouldn't be missed! We didn't spend a lot of time in the house but there are 2 bedrooms each with full size beds and a/c for sleeping it was very comfortable. The living room has a small tv, wicker love seat and 2 chairs. There is also a table that sits 4. We ran the A/C at night when we got back home and washed/dried 3 loads of laundry and it was just $20 for electricity. I think this is the perfect way to charge your customers. Why pay more per night if you don't use it. 3B in Sundowner suited us perfectly! If you are looking for a comfortable place to lay your head at night this is the place for you. We can't wait for our next trip to Roatan. Cassie & Tim thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Quite lovely vacation home steps from the beach

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained...set back from the main road just far enough to be quiet...we loved the screened in porch especially and sat out there for hours relaxing, eating, listening to the birds, and enjoying quiet, peaceful time when we werent out having adventures. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and out to the reef and the private dock was a popular sunset location for other renters/owners in other units...basically there are homes built with 2-4 rentals in each...nice amenities...space between so there is privacy and beautiful jungle views and a peak of the water from our bedroom. We cooked most of our meals and appreciated the full size fridge so we didn't have to grocery shop very often. We brought some very light weight carry bags/packs to transport our groceries...and learned to take the collectivos or group taxis instead of the more expensive taxis...plus they went to little village areas we wouldn't have seen otheriwse. The bathroom had consistent hot water and plenty of space...plus other guests had left a few personal care items like sunscreen or basic first aid supplies..we added a little, too...the property was clean and well maintained and help was just a call away if we needed anything. We were not bothered by barking dogs or proud crowing roosters, although we were quite entertained by a mama hen and her little tiny chicks.

The nearby dive shop and restaurant there were friendly and the food was outstanding...we only went for late breakfasts or lunch and enjoyed banana pancakes and the best burritos ever. We also enjoyed using the snorkeling gear and not having to rent or haul ours..plus the internet and cable TV were nice some evenings...we never needed the AC at all...we loved Roatan and hope to return...and would choose this unit again for sure...if we don't move there first! thanks to Tim and Cassie for making this a dream vacation for us.

Awesome 2nd Honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here after meeting the previous owner on the beach during a short stay off of a cruise trip. She convinced us that we should look into staying at her condo next time we came to Roatan. We rented for a week and were well taken care of the whole time by Erica and Ron. The condo was well equipped and clean and nicely located. We used the pool often and enjoyed the lush greenery and all of the birds! We were able to use the house phone provided to get transportation and adventure whenever we wished. The food on the island was teriffic. We shopped at a local fish market and made a seafood dinner in the condo with the full stocked kitchen. The weather was perfect. We swam and snorkeled. I got to do my first SCUBA dive with Blue Island Divers right next door. Eric and his operation will take you on the best dive in one of the best reef experiences in the world! So happy with the entire trip. We felt very safe and well taken care of the whole time. Definitely would like to go back again!

Sundancer Roatan Honduras

  • 4 of 5

Lovely location with short walkable beach and pool, yes the pool is really nice even with you're at the beach. Best snorkeling I have ever seen, healthiest coral a short swim out from pier, great pier on the ocean. Accomodations comfortable, basic, best thing was our host who made sure we had lots of ideas where to go and could call anytime, very available.

We returned again this year for an even better vacation experience. The condo is well equipped for any in house cooking, the bedrooms are air conditioned but be aware that hydro is 7xs the price as back home, so we only used it at nights. Television, wifi and a monitored security system. Judy leaves no stone unturned to make sure you get what you need and want for a great vacation. Steve and I celebrated our anniversary and Judy had Erica (our real estate contact friend) to make a cake from scratch for us. It was just delicious. This is the type of people you will be dealing with. She is on site and available for questions and assistance. Ron Rivers (roatanadventuretours.net) works closely with her to organize cost effective day tours which are iconic. Day trip by boat to Mango Creek Lodge for sun, magnificent lunch and multiple snorkeling sites all for well under $100 per person. We snorkeled each am out on the reefs just off the dock and then late afternoon at the complex pool to cool off in. We are not the types to return to vacation spots, but easily made the exception here and will do it again!!! Love to all!!

Loved It and Will be Back!!!

  • 5 of 5

We were two couples who travel together. We had a wonderful time and the condo is one of the best in the Sundancer Cabanas complex. Everything was clean and well maintained. (We stayed in another cabana for a week because we were unable to get this one for the full two weeks and it was definitely not the same calibre).Miss Judy (the owner) and Ron (the guide) were so wonderful and helpful. We had a blast. Miss Judy made sure that we saw and did everything we wanted and much more. This is the place to be if you want to snorkel because most of the boats bring the snorkelers from the other bays and drop them in front of the dock in front of the Sundancer dock. A car is not necessary as taxi rides to the other bays and the grocery stores are very reasonable. We will definitely be back!
