About Cindy Storie-Soth

We are a Canadian / German family living in the beautiful Cowichan Valley for over 10 years. We were drawn to the valley because of it's beautiful nature, the diversity of it's culture and the healthy lifestyle it provides.

Cindy Storie-Soth purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Cindy Storie-Soth chose British Columbia

Ten years ago we built our log home and two years ago we completed our log cabin vacation rental. Located on 1.5 acres, bordering parkland and close to the beach our home and vacation rental cabin provide beauty, quiet and the serenity of nature.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife, 6 month old and I spent 5 nights in this gorgeous log cabin. Cindy and Mandfred were friendly hosts and accommodated our needs. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. We managed to do all our meals using the small kitchenette & the BBQ. The location is good for exploring the Cowichan Valley/Shawnigan Lake area and in a nice quiet area - very peaceful with the woods at your door. We were able to come and go as we please. We'd definitely look at going back on our next visit to the area.

Lovely Little Cabin!

This is a lovely little spot to spend a few nights. My husband and I enjoyed it greatly and the owners are very friendly. The cabin is well equipped although the sink in the kitchen is pretty tiny - don't try to cook any elaborate meals - eat out at one of the wineries or bring some easy to prepare food. We walked around the trails and neighborhood - it's so beautiful and peaceful.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful log cabin in the woods

So quiet!

All wood inside, (log walls, flooring, ceiling) very pretty to look at, beautifully decorated, especially the bathroom.

Enjoyed waking up to see the trees on the hill outside the bedroom french doors.

Kitchen: only about 4 sq ft of counter space and a small sink and a small fridge!

Just plan to heat up leftovers and boil water on the stove top. No microwave!

(The kitchen is why I knocked off a star.)

Gorgeous sunrise out the side window.

Enjoyed a lovely foamy soak in the large deep tub.

We didn't use the outside patio as it was cold.

Nice fireplace really throws out the heat.

Would we stay again? Yes!

Quiet, relaxing, perfect weekend with my husband!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 3 wonderfully perfect nights here. We were participating in the MS Cowichan Valley Grape Escape Bike Tour, and the location was just perfect to be going back and forth to the venue (Shawnigan Lake School) for 2 days. It was also close to Cowichan Bay for a nice meal on a patio facing the water. It's a nice central location for the area... can easily make a day out of visiting many of the Cowichan wineries and local farms. The property was quiet, clean, and beautifully relaxing. One of the owners came out to greet us on arrival and was very friendly. We would absolutely stay here again, and would definitely recommend to friends!

Beautiful!

This is a great spot for a couples getaway. Nicely furnished, with lots of amenities. Felt more like a hotel/resort experience than a typical home rental. would highly recommend.

Lovely cabin on the hillside

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent two wonderful nights at this cabin. What a lovely spot, perched on the hill in the forest in a very quiet neighbourhood. We walked down to the bay one evening and then followed the trail back up behind the cabin. Loved the clawfoot tub and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely like to come back for another stay; more wineries, restaurants, farmers markets and restaurants to explore!
