No hidden cleaning or tax charges, free welcome pack,
We are a family of 5, three girls, my husband and I. We used this house for our family holiday home, the girls had the downstairs (rental unit) when they were teenagers, and needed to emerge later in the day.The downstairs is cool in summer, due to the enormously thick walls. We like relaxed living, and hopefully we have managed to embody this in the home in Italy. We are happy to answer any questions about the house.
Susan purchased this Farmhouse in 2004
Why Susan chose Tuoro Sul Trasimeno
When we were looking for a property to buy in Italy, we wanted good transport links, some culture, local facilities. When we approached the house the sun was shining on the ochre walls, and we knew we wanted to buy this property. We have completed sympathetic renovations, but the biggest works were the gardens and pool. We love Italy, and there is plenty to do, also doing nothing is so easy. The restaurants are fabulous, and relatively inexpensive. the wine is world class. There are various festivals all summer, trasimeno blues is the one we love. also perugia jazz for those who love open air, and free music. A train ride to Rome, is an experience, as is car ride to the coast. The locals are warm, friendly and helpful.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We rent the downstairs of our house, when we, and nobody else, is there. The house stands alone but not isolated, it has an amazing view of the lake and the woods, but is a slow 15 minute walk into town, or a couple of minutes by car, The town has a good selection of shops and at the same time has incredible restaurants.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
This lovely farmhouse was tucked away on a wooded hillside surrounded by nature, but with easy access by car to Siena, Florence, Assisi and Cortona. We would definitely stay again, a real home from home.
Lovely location,villa and gardens.
An excellent rental property. Very private and quiet. The accommodation was good and the garden with pool was excellent. Great view from the upper balcony where we ate.Everyone was very helpful. Lots of interesting and beautiful towns within easy driving range. Would recommend.
Thank you so much Frazier for your review. I am so happy that you enjoyed the house and gardens. The local area is beautiful, steeped in history, and one is spoiled for choice. We look forward to seeing you again.
Fantastic Property and location, quiet with amazing views
We had a great holiday at this property. It is in a beautiful quiet location, has everything you need locally, and a lovely pool. Dominic and Kristina who look after the property were a wealth of information. We visited Florence, Perugia, Cortona, Gubbio, Siena and Montepulciano as day trips, and hired a boat for a day on the lake. All these lovely places are within easy travelling distances from the house. Susan the owner was very helpful with information, both before and during the trip. We would definitely recommend this house, and location to others for exploring Tuscany and Umbria. Five stars!
Jane and family, thank you so much for such a great review. I have told Kristina and Dominic about your lovely comments, thank you very much. So happy that you had a great time exploring the area, there are so many beautiful towns and cities in the surrounding areas. Hope to see you return in the future.
Wonderful! Peaceful, Relaxing and Private
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house and gardens are well presented and just as shown in the photos- Beautiful! The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with all the essential equipment including a welcoming pack of food and prosecco! Our 3 children, 11, 9 and 6 year old, loved playing in the pool and we all enjoyed exploring the garden and it’s pathways not too mention the beautiful smells of lavender and rosemary! We also loved stargazing after dark! The nearby supermarket is easy to access and we enjoyed visits to the nearby Lake, Cortona and Assisi -all very pretty! Thank you to Krisitina who looked after us as we arrived who was very friendly and approachable. Thank you so much to Susan for great communication and for sharing your beautiful home with us we have made some lovely family memories here. We hope to visit again one day.
Thank you Geoffrey for such a lovely review. We are so happy that your time in Tuoro was so memorable. The sky above the house is beautiful, it is wonderful that you spent time stargazing. We are delighted that you found the house well stocked for your family. We really hope you visit us again.
Dear Susan, me and my family can't thank you enough for the time we spent in your fantastic home in Tuscany this summer, it exceeded our wildest expectations.
For the past few years we have been using HomeAway and Airbnb when travelling around the world and Susan is by far the best host we've ever had. Along with Kristina and Dominique they went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
The house is situated in the Umbrian hills overlooking the beautiful lake Trasimeno and you can't ask for a better location. It has wonderful combination of feeling remote, when you want to just relax, and connected, when you want to go into Touro or down to the lake for dinner or a gelato.
The large pool boasts wonderful views of the sourounding hills and lake with comfortable loungers in the shade which were welcome under the Tuscan sun.
The house itself has everything you could ask for and there is a nice terrace where you can have dinner and enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake.
Again, thanks Susan for the vacation of our lives, we will come back for sure.

Very Peaceful, great place to wind down.
About half a mile from the village up a track though the woods. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the sun and the quiet. Excellent pool to cool off. Excellent support by the very friendly local staff and from the UK. a large terraced garden to walk through. Great butterflies on the Lavender. Spent all our time outside (apart from sleeping).
Lots of interesting tows to look at, should the energy emerge.
Thank you so much for the review, delighted to have you stay. So happy you enjoyed the peace and tranquility.
We offer an exclusive and totally private rental. No other guests or owners shall be at the property. You shall be renting an exclusive property. Our house nestles in the wooded Umbrian hills, overlooking Lago Trasimeno and the town of Tuoro, close to the Tuscan border.Tuoro is a real Italian town, in summer there are some tourists, but it is by no means touristy. The beach, ferry to the island, and trampolines for the children are at Tuoro beach. The house is ideally located with great transport links within easy striking distance, making Rome, Cortona, Florence, Assisi, Sienna, Arezzo and Perugia (and its airport) easily accessible by either rail or road, The lake has ferries from Tuoro beach to the island of Maggiore and pretty lakeside towns, and Tuoro Lido also offers windsurfing, watersports and pedaloes and has a selection of cafes and restaurants. The town of Tuoro boasts restaurants, cafes, dress shops, atm facilities, a newspaper stand (selling foreign newspapers), bakeries, supermarkets, butchers and a post office.
Hannibal drove the Roman army into the lake at Tuoro and a tour of the battlefield is available. In the summer Trasimeno Blues takes place, as does Umbria Jazz. There is a tourist information shop in the centre of town.
