Amazing time great for families!
We arrived a bit late after a very long day to fresh cut flowers and a nice bottle of wine! The windows were open letting in a nice fresh breeze and the house was very welcoming and felt like home! Plenty of space for families and we even brought our hound dogs! Situated on top of a marina with a convenient restaurant below! It's very quite and the employees and owners were very nice! At about 4-5pm you have the place to yourself with no neighbors and it's just so beautiful and really what we needed was much needed relaxation time! We rented a boat from the marina and we truly had a great time! The town is quiet and quaint with amazing little boutiques and restaurants! We will be back!
Know what you are renting.
My sons and I wanted to get away for a long weekend and found this location which did not require the weekly rental and was available for the days we wanted. While there are many pros to the property, like being waterfront, great size kitchen, 2 bathrooms , allowing our two dogs and the fact that it comes with linens and towels. But there were a lot of cons too. First off the location. While we had been told we were above a small cafe and no one ever complained of the noise,. That is accurate as long as you keep the very noisy air conditioners running, My first morning I walked outside the front door to be greeted by 4 tables of people eating and having breakfast and people were there all day until the cafe closed at 2. Secondly, the outside eating area was non existent. The outside table could barely hold a drink it was so small. When I questioned the owner she replied that I wouldn't want to eat outside because of the bugs. It was shown with a large picnic table . So if you enjoy sitting outside to eat, be aware. That there is no outside eating . They boast that it sleeps 8 which is absolutely not accurate. The master bedroom has the only bed that you can call a bed. The two other bedrooms are futons that are so small and uncomfortable that no one was was able to sleep. There was barely a mattress. They are perfect for children, but absolutely not 2 adults. While I don't expect to have great beds when renting, if I knew they were futons I would not have rented the property. Lastly your location is the marina. There are no other houses by you and you are the second floor of the marina. If you like privacy, this is your spot. You are totally secluded and cannot walk to anything . One morning we were all awaken by the delivery of gas for the pumps at 6:00 am with the trucks beeping and noise.
So, read all the details of the property and know what you are getting before you rent. Very disappointed that after speaking with the landlord that she did nothing for our inconvenience but say she took our complaints under advisement.
Amazing shore vacation spot with a boat slip.Very clean and family friendly. GREAT CRABBING and FISHING! We have stayed the last two years and have already booked for next year. Owners are very accommodating and helpful wether it's to do with the house or trying to find the best fishing location. Don't forget to bring your camera the sunsets are to die for!
Great views, charming
This is a charming shore get-away that is quirky and unique. There is a family run cafe on the first floor with the 2nd and 3rd floors rented as a unit. The place is spotless with linens and towels provided. There are a few things to note though, we did not have internet despite the owners attempt to hook-up a router to a pole in the parking lot, which didn't work-so be prepared for no internet. Two of the three bedrooms have futons as beds and are not full size beds-we only had one adult per room so the size was not an issue for us. My 6'3" son used the larger futon on the screened in porch. The washer and dryer are available on the first floor during the marina's operating hours and locked from 6pm-6am. Finally, I paid with paypal and was charged a service fee (deducted from my security payment). There was not any indication from Cristine or her parents (the owners) beforehand or in the VRBO listing.
Despite those items, I'd readily rent the house again. They take a great deal of pride in their property and marina, work hard to maintain it and are very friendly and accomodating. I mentioned to Jeannie (owner) that the kitchen was missing a cooking item and within an hour the item was provided. The unit is airy (we never needed the AC), comfortable and very clean, the view is peaceful and beautiful. Jeanie provides a welcoming touch of fresh flowers and wine at check in.
Our third stay at Jeanie and Kieth's and we love it! They're so helpful and make you feel like family. We'd love to stay there all summer long!
They really keep this home so clean. Great fishing out the back door. highly recommend!
