Why Kurt or Tammy Hubschneider chose Traverse City

We fell in love with the 55 acre all sports lake as well as the convenient location. Having seasonal neighbors, a lake out the back door, an 80 acre wooded township park across the street, a home where every room has a postcard view of the lake, we were in heaven.

What makes this house unique

Our gift to you is to provide you a peaceful, comfortable and picturesque stage to use as a back drop for some incredible memories! If you or your friends want a great Northern Michigan experience, the Chandler Lake Lodge will be available for many years to come.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a beautiful property. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed to occomadate our families. We do this trip every year and must say by far this was the best property we've stayed at. The owner Ken and Manager Kurt could not have been nicer and more professional from the initial inquiry which they answered in minutes (we were very impressed) to getting us checked in and out. We will stay here again next year.

Memorable Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Just came back from an awesome weekend in Traverse City at the Chandler Lake Lodge. There were 10 of us celebrating a buddy's upcoming nuptials. We brought up food and grilled out on Friday. The kitchen was fully stocked with kitchenware. We went for a hike on Saturday. One of the trail heads for Vasa was a 5 minute drive from the lodge. The owner is a really nice guy and stopped by on Friday to introduce himself. This place is great. Pool, ping pong, shoot out in the basement. 5 star recommendation!

Wonderful stay at Chandler Lake Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at Chandler Lake this past Holiday season! Our group was made up of old friends from Michigan who have sense been sprinkled out across the country with various new jobs and adventures. All we wanted for the Holiday was a cozy home to hole up in for a few days to catch up, share meals, laughs, games and new memories. This house was PERFECT for us! It came equipped with everything we needed and then some. Very close to Traverse City and not far from Crystal Mountain where we spent a day snowboarding. Kurt and Tammy were VERY prompt in answering any of our questions and quick to get back to us with return security deposit details. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a group back here....and would be anxious to do it all over again during the summer months!

Great Experience in Traverse City!

  • 5 of 5

First off- the whole process of renting Chandler Lake Lodge was nice and convenient. Kurt and Tammy were great to work with and were always very responsive. There were 10 of us that rented the cabin and it was in a great location to all of the outdoor activities we wanted to do- and was just a few miles away from downtown Traverse City. We rented the cabin in December planning to go snow tubing and skiing at the nearby ski resort.

I would rent this cabin again without hesitation and I would love to rent it in the summer time since the lake is right there. Again, overall great experience and they were wonderful to work with.

CANT WAIT TO COME BACK :)

  • 5 of 5

Our girls weekend was perfect from the second we arrived at Chandler Lake Lodge. Not to mention booking the location was a breeze. As soon as we arrived at the lake house the fun began. The scenery was gorgeous, the house was immaculate and the location was perfect for wine tour pick ups and a fun girls weekend getaway. It was only 8 minutes from downtown TC so getting to fun shopping boutiques and bars or even buying groceries was convenient too. The atmosphere of the house was so cozy but full of fun options and space for everyone. There were 10 of us that stayed for the weekend and we couldn't have left any happier. Being that the weather wasn't very nice we weren't able to go outside much. But because of the lake houses set up all 10 of us were able to sit together around the huge dinning room table and play games, laugh and relax together, plus the added bonus of the game room down stairs. Something we wouldn't have been able to do in a hotel room. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer to utilize the outdoors more. Thanks to Chandler Lake Lodge for a great time! It was truly a great experience!

Perfect for a great family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We did a lot of research before choosing Chandler Lake Lodge for our family vacation and we were very pleased with our choice. Kurt and Tammy couldn't have been more helpful in answering our questions. They made the whole process very smooth, from the initial booking to the prompt return of our deposit. We appreciated the welcome gift of everything we needed to make s'mores, which we enjoyed while sitting around the fire pit one evening.

The cottage is clean and has a great lodge feel, with the open floor plan providing plenty of space for our family of nine. The interior of the cottage is warm and inviting and the many windows offer great views of the lake and wooded lot. The large dining room table is perfect for eating together and playing games. We had no trouble with the washer, dryer, or dishwasher, and we also found the beds to be very comfortable. The portable air units kept the cottage cool on hot days, and we loved having the game room for rainy days.

The property itself worked very well for our needs. It is situated on a small yet beautiful lake surrounded by woods. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere while having the option to engage in a variety of water sports. Other amenities we enjoyed were grilling on the deck, relaxing on the hammock and having plenty of parking in the driveway for our vehicles. We also found the location to be ideal, as it is only a short drive to Traverse City and all the activities to be found there.

We would have no hesitation staying at Chandler Lake Lodge again on our next visit to the Traverse City area.
