Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a beautiful property. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed to occomadate our families. We do this trip every year and must say by far this was the best property we've stayed at. The owner Ken and Manager Kurt could not have been nicer and more professional from the initial inquiry which they answered in minutes (we were very impressed) to getting us checked in and out. We will stay here again next year.

Weekend Stay

  • 5 of 5

We came up to the cottage Friday through Sunday. Every year, we plan a moms and boys weekend in Traverse City at a different cottage. This was very comfortable and cozy. Loved the beautiful wood throughout. Plenty of places for everyone to sleep and fully stocked kitchen. Boys loved the "man cave" in the basement. Thanks for helping us make great memories!

Clean, cozy, exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

Had the pleasure to stay at the Chandler Lake home on a chilly March weekend with a group of 10 guys. We absolutely loved it.

Experience began with meeting Kurt who could not have been friendlier and helpful. He left me with clear instructions for a few things like laundry and dishes and was just generally a pleasure to meet. It's so nice when a place offers more than you even expect, and while the pictures are very accurate and appropriate, there's just a lot of nice touches throughout the home that make it special. The various wood and natural finishes throughout are perfect for a Michigan getaway home and we really liked how much natural light comes in if you want it. There are a lot of places out there that are decorated with one or two trips to Target and Marshalls where a lot of Made In China trinkets are scooped up and put on the walls to make it "cottage-y". Not here. This place feels created by someone that cares for it, and from old boats and beautiful wood furniture to the light switches, the atmosphere is authentic. 10 beds/futons! The beds are plenty comfortable and kitchen has a newer fridge with an ice machine that works well. There's plenty of pots, pans, cooking tools, dishes, and utensils for preparing and serving meals. We ended up spending a lot of time around the open kitchen area/dining room/living room, but would also all gather in the game room downstairs. Besides those rooms there's another living room overlooking the lake with a newer flat screen TV and tons of channels if you need to catch a game or watch movies. Pleasantly surprised by very reliable Wi-Fi as well. My AT&T cellular was a little shaky so that was a huge plus. Being snowy and cold, we didn't even really get to sample the outdoor amenities and still enjoyed the heck of out this place. To say this place is clean is an understatement. If you like the pictures, just book it, you won't be disappointed. I could see 2 or 3 families having an absolute blast here in the summer.

Can't forget a little convenience store just around a few corners that saves you a trip into Traverse (which is only 20 minutes). This little store has the essentials including a huge selection of soft drinks, snacks, beer, wine, and liquor. Oh and they sell bagged ice in case you overwhelm the fridge unit. One of those "not in the brochure" things off-site but nearby that just adds more value to an already solid gem of a property on Chandler Lake. Thanks again, Kurt. Hope to visit again, soon!

Great experience

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely well-stocked vacation rental with plenty of space and amenities for our family/friends group of 12. Kurt and Tammy are very easy to work with -- always pleasant, professional and responsive -- and checked in with us several times to make sure everything was ok. The lake is perfect with fishing, boating, kayaking and hiking all nearby. We would definitely return to this property.

Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous time staying in this cabin on Chandler Lake. There was ample sleeping space for our large group, plenty of amenities to make our stay comfortable and the games in the lower level provided some extra fun activities. We took advantage of the fire pit most days, which was great for roasting marshmallows and such. There was also a nice, large grill that made great burgers, brats and hot dogs. The highlight of the trip, however, was the lake itself. We had a great time swimming and using the water trampoline. We rented the kayaks and pontoon boat, in addition to using the paddle boat provided, to scoot around the lake and go fishing. Our visit was in June and we caught lots of bluegill and bass at dawn and dusk. We highly recommend this vacation home and would absolutely stay here again! Our only concern was that the trek down to the lake was rather steep, so obviously young children need to be carefully monitored around the back of the cabin, when going up and down the steps to the lake and on the dock. Having said that, life jackets were provided in multiple sizes.

Absolutely Perfect for a long weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed over Memorial Weekend with some girlfriends and had a fabulous time!! The cabin and the property were very clean and spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us girls to be together, and if we chose to, there was room to relax on our own. From utensils and cooking supplies to linens, the cabin was fully stocked. We had good conversations on the dock right on Chandler Lake and awesome fires in the fire pit two of the nights. We hit a slight bump and called Kurt and he was almost immediately at the door helping us! Overall, we had a great experience and wonderful accommodations. I will definitely be recommending this home to friends and family! It was a wonderful time!
