Our Quiet Getaway
The house was fully appointed except for a large frying pan and ice cube trays, which we purchased and donated. Wi-Fi excellent with Basic cable. DVD player but bring DVDs. This part of the lake more suited for boating and fishing rather than swimming. Extremely peaceful and quiet.
Stay was fantastic will be back soon
Clean and fairly newly remodeled. Great for our family of 6 plus newborn. I would like more parking area for vehicles and did not use off site boat & trailer parking as it felt quite insecure. Boat slips should be included with this rental, not extra cost. Launch is close by. Well supplied with towels and ketchen items. Over all we were happy with this rental.
Great view, not too far from town
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We had 2 young children with us, which was challenging at times since it is a smaller house, but since we knew that ahead of time, a box fan and sound machine did the trick! Having the back deck gave us so much more space to relax, and the view was great too! Make sure to bring disposable dishes/utensils since there's no dishwasher (we forgot this part!). Plenty of space in the kitchen to cook, beds were comfortable, and bathroom was spacious. Decor was great - you can tell it was renovated recently!
Few things that would have improved the stay - a lighter for the citronella candles (you don't think about bringing a lighter or matches when you aren't camping), a pair of scissors, more cooking utensils (for ex, no spatula or flipper when cooking on the stove), and more hooks for bathroom towels throughout the house (one in the bathroom doesn't cut it for 7 people). The front door was also extremely loud when opening and closing it, which disrupts anyone sleeping in the front room.
That being said, all of these little details weren't close to enough to make us not stay there if we return to Ludington in the future. Would be at the top of our list! Just some quick and easy suggestions to improve the next guests' stays!
Near perfect time
The location was perfect on Hamlin lake. Quiet location just off the main part of the lake. Cottage was like new and very comfortable beds. There was a neighbor who owned a property near by who lived on his own. Kept telling me I was operating the boat wrong and actually called the rental place on me. It turned out the third day the boat broke down so a little curious about all that...however Linda was GREAT at trying to assist and gave me a refund right away for the day. Not a single complaint about the cottage portion of out trip. Would definitely go back. By the way we had my Mom and dad there who were in their 80s and had no problem getting around. All in all would definitely recommend!
