Christian and Pascale Knoglinger have made Jordan River their home since 2009.
Their love of nature, gardens, oceans and the outdoors was the main factor that made them move to the area and build their home on a 1 hectare lot overlooking the Juan de Fuca Straight.
The Knoglingers enjoy providing a comfortable and memorable experience to their guests, and hope that you will enjoy your stay at Second Creek Guest House.
Pascale and Christian Knoglinger purchased this apartment in 2010
Years of visits to the area's beaches, as well as fishing the waters of Port Renfrew further down their road, have motivated the owners of Second Creek Farm and Guest House to build their dream home on their acreage.
The ocean view from the front patio area, kitchen and living room, the high ceilings and brightness of our apartment, as well as the ocean air, and the lush greenery surrounding the premises make our place a welcoming, relaxing and memorable vacation spot.
We were lucky to find this place in the middle of the night, hopefully we will come back!
Very spacious and airy. Amazing view of the Juan De Fuca Strait. Some kitchen utensils and staples were missing.
We had a brief but great stay at the Second Creek Farm and Guesthouse. The purpose of our trip was to hike part of the Juan de Fuca straight with our fur child, Stella. It was so nice to be able to take our dog on this trip and let her enjoy nature with us. I was so happy we were allowed to have our dog stay with us, it's hard to find places that allow dogs so this was a huge bonus. It was also a short drive (approx 1km) to the start of the Juan de Fuca trailhead (China Beach). Pascale gave us lots of helpful information about the place and area and was very nice to deal with. The place itself was easy to find (with Pascale's directions), very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Another "pet plus" was the front gated area we could let Stella roam around without worrying about her getting into mischief with wildlife. The suite is very bright, quiet and peaceful; would definitely stay again if/when we come back to the island. Thanks for accommodating us.
Our family truly enjoyed our 4 day stay at Second Creek. Our hosts were available when we were looking for information and otherwise we were completely independent --- just what we were looking for. Christian was super helpful twice, once to help check around about making a connection for our young surfer, and secondly, very helpful given a surprise medical condition. Well recommended location and again, super hosts.
Our family enjoyed the quiet solitude that Second creek guest house afforded. There is so much to do in the area for those lovers of the outdoors. The owners of the home are kind and knowledgable of the area. Our boys really enjoyed the local beaches and small creeks...not to mention the fantastic views from the property.
I have stayed with Pascale and Christian twice and have absolutely loved the experience. They have a beautiful home overlooking the ocean and the apartment itself is cozy, spacious, and has everything you need for a fantastic stay away. Pascal and Christian are incredibly friendly and helpful and it has been a pleasure getting to know them - any questions or help we needed they were right there to help.
I would highly recommend this house to couples, families, and groups who are ready for a cozy pacific northwest experience on the coast!
My wife, dog and I stayed here for 4 nights. Hiking the Juan De Fuca Marine trail from Mystic Beach was wonderful. It wasn't until the last day that we realized there was a trail leading out from right where we were.
I'm a cook and found everything I needed in the apartment kitchen, including spices. We spent our last day just hanging around the apartment because we liked it so much. Very spacious, nice ocean view right out the front window.
It's about 30 minutes north of Sooke itself. We had a great time with Sooke Coastal Explorations on a whale watching trip and a great dinner at Point No Point resort one night. We took a day trip to Point Renfrew and wished we had just spent it hiking or hanging around instead.
The farm is quite small and is not marked or advertised from the main road - make sure you have the street address before you arrive. Our U.S. phone carrier (Verizon) didn't work in Canada and it took us a while to find the place.
Jordan River, BC is located 1 hour from Victoria between Sooke and Port Renfrew.
The scenic drive along Highway 14, access to the 47 Km long Juan de Fuca Provincial Park Trail, as well as access to the countless beautiful beaches along the Straight of Juan de Fuca make this region a gem of South Western Vancouver Island.
The West Coast Rainforest's natural beauty and landscape will capture your imagination.
Mystic Beach's giant swing into the ocean will no doubt provide hours of fun for adults and children alike. Starting in front of our local restaurant, the Breakers at Déjà Vu, our visitors can walk from the village of Jordan River all the way to China Beach, beach combing along the way, and often while observing ocean wildlife!
