Two bedrooms have full beds and couches, one has a full bed and a futon, another has a queen sleep number bed and the last has a king size therapeutic craftmatic massage bed. This home has been pleasing guests since before Abe Lincoln was president. It was built in 1857, before the civil war. It has been recommended to be in the historical society many times, however, all owners have declined this special opportunity. While being a guest here you will fall in love with all of the homes original features but unlike the previous owners, you will get to enjoy modern amenities, like lights, toilets and electricity. There are many local folklore and stories surrounding this home. At check in the owners will provide you with a book about the home and the history behind it which is all documented in our local library and newspapers.

Fun historic mansion!

Had a great time for a friends birthday weekend. House was immaculate and set up to have such a great time. From ping pong matches to a beer pong tournament outside, we couldn't have asked for a better house to have a friends getaway. Owners set you up to have everything you need and a wonderful experience. Even though we thought the house was haunted (LOL) it was a great place to enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city. Will definitely come again.

Great place for a family gathering. There is so much history to this beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well maintained house. Plenty of utensils to feed us 9 adults and 6 children. Amazing projector and sound system in the movie room that had a very theater like feel to it, yet the sound was so well contained that it did not wake up the kids at night. Overall a really great getaway for a weekend.

Beautiful home, extremely thoughtful and hospitable hosts, this is where you want to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We totally enjoyed our stay at Dan & Candice's home. The house is spacious, and its a great blend of classic and modern design. The kitchen was spacious enough to have multiple people cooking, and its stocked with all the amenities cookware you need. We made a lot of use of the pool table and ping pong table, and there's a great space in the back with a bbq and firepit. The theater room is awesome, and we loved the large dining room table that was able to fit our entire group. Dan and Candice definitely have the gift of hospitality, and their home truly felt like a hotel, with a laundry room full of extra towels, sheets, bed covers, its all nicely packed and ready for use. They even had a chalkboard with a welcome sign written on it, weather for the days we were staying, and even local events happening during the weekend. You can tell that Dan and Candice really care about this home, and put a lot of effort into making sure their guests are cared for and have a great time. Can't say enough about them and this home, check it out!
